The Ethernet port really was the only thing the dock was missing. Not only because of the speeds but also the latency for games like smash. The only thing i wonder about is: why didn’t Nintendo make a Dock like this? It really is a all in one solution for everything the original dock did wrong! A really good video again rocker and see you soon!
I agree with you.... could you imagine if Nintendo released a dock like this... how many millions would they sell? I am glad Brook has stepped in and made it as I feel like this was missing. Its crazy, but I actually have this dock hooked up to my work monitor and use it at work to program and play during my lunch break, the ease and portability is great!
I'd really love to see some in depth tests comparing GCC input lag with this dock VS the OEM adapter. I have seen some tests done before comparing different GCC adapters that have proven other brands to have slightly higher input lag, which is something that makes it difficult for me to commit to a setup that doesn't utilise an official adapter. Your section looking over the PCB was super interesting, great video!
I appreciate that comment! I wish I had better tool to measure input lag. I wouldnt mind picking up something to more effectively test input lag and that might be something I end up picking up in the future as I really enjoy making videos like this where I can tear things down and talk about them! Thanks again and I agree something to look into for sure!
I think its a good all in one solution for sure. I primarily use it on my computer monitor and I love it for that purpose. Makes doing what I do very easy!
@@RockerGaming I can't wait! I've been finding stuff through Facebook marketplace, but there is nothing quite like the hunt of garage sales! Lmk if there is anything you're looking for and I'll keep an eye out!
You should review the Ultimate Gamecube Adapter that Panda Global put out. I don’t think it’s a dock, but it is powered and has four GC ports and an ethernet port
They have a really great track record of producing great products for fight sticks and they are getting more involved with the switch dock scene as well as doing controller adapters for the retro and current gen market. They make a good product for sure. I am just kinda shocked they took the critical feedback from the community and released a new product, that is great!
They should. Having said that, it will unfortunately lead to shorter battery life as the mod uses the 5v line on the GCC to power the leds and microcontroller.
Yo know I dont think its for sale any more or at least I dont see it on Amazon. This one looks very similar and should be able to accommodate the same or a similar amount of accessories. amzn.to/2Qb5Y4R

looks cool, but will this thing fry your switch or damage the battery? I have the genki portable dock, and I only ended up buying it because of the extensive detail their engineer went in explaining how theirs won't fry their switch if left in the dock for long periods. The switch has some really weird power voltage going on. I know you mention it likely won't, but a bunch of youtubers said the Nyko ones wouldn't either lol. Does your buddy sell those gamecube adaptor shells anywhere?
I agree its always a concern. I feel good about it after using the last version of this dock for 9 months along with their repair/warranty policy and in general they have been very reputable. I specifically asked for responses from their engineers to better understand the exact process they went through and it seems very reasonable to me. I am not a EE by trade so take it for what that is worth.
@@EydouTouchFr Only officially* compatible. After taking my phob to many locals, I find that it works with random Chinese adapters most of the time, so I was pretty hopeful the Brook dock would work :(
So won't brick my swich is nice and all, but at 80$ the same price of the original dock it just feels safer to just minimize an official nintendo dock. Idk just what I feel. Open to thoughts though.
No hate from me with this comment. I had similar feedback for Brook. The cost of a oem dock is currently $60 from Nintendo and the OEM GCC adapter isnt made, but it can be had for $36 off Amazon. You would also need to add a usb ethernet adapter which is another $10/$15. So there is savings going down this path, but the gap is much closer. To me its all about portability and that to me is the deciding factor!

3:34 thank you!
Everyone that previews it doesn't do this except for you!
Subbed sir!
Glad that was helpful! I clearly struggled to censor all my personal data 🙃 but hey I thought that was really important to show!
I'm still having the fear of my switch bricking because of using 3rd party docks

I love the GameCube look of the adapter!
Good review! And good catch for those soldering point! :)
Yo thanks dude! Always gotta check those anchoring points, us retro gamers have had to clean a few of those up once too often, lol

Niiiiice, but what if custom shell? 👀
This looks like the perfect solution for gaming on the go! Great video and keep up the good work!
Thanks Dan, this series of docks has been great!
Can you make a tutorial on how to fix the z button on the Ebay gamecube buttons
And make a video on what got you into UA-cam and moding
Hey Michael, I really like those topics. I think I might do that!
id love a room tour. I saw that sega saturn case in the reflection of the switch and now im really interested.
I dont even have a switch and this is so sick
This Dock is the Dock that Nintendo should of shipped out when the Wii came out
Definitely gonna be picking up one of these for my brother!

3:40 are you sure your upload speed wasn't already basically maxed out?
upload speed was pretty much maxed out, D/L speed was a sizable increase!
Looks nice!
How do i firmware update it? my computer doesnt detect the dock
How does it look if use a non customized ?
Wow. I really respect this company. When I originally saw the old one I thought it would be garbage and the company would disappear after 6 months.

hahaha, I see what you did there! Not in my experience! I am just glad they offer a replacement service if it does brick the console.
Can you link me to that switch case??

this looks cool but im scared of 3rd party docks because ive had friends first hand get their consoles bricked over them

It does not do everything as it does not support video for switch lite
👍👍
Cool but i have a switch lite ;----;
it does work with the lite, but no vide output unfortunately :(
