Man, I remember when 3rd party docks for the switch were new and they were bricking systems left and right. I've been leary of them ever since but if the issues they were having were ironed out, it may be time for a second look.
I've had a switch since late 2017 but recently upgraded to the new switch with the increased battery life. I sold the tablet portion of my old switch, so now I have two docks, ac adapters, and pairs of joy cons.

The Stingray is a great travel dock, and it's really reasonably priced! It's easy to add to the collection. Thanks for checking out the video, and I appreciate the sub!!
If you don't need to hook to the TV Hori makes a nice one that folds open by pushing a button and switching it. It has ports and I think you can charge but no TV action.
Hey Gary, thankfully I got a 2nd OEM dock from Mercari (for only $40 like new) right before the pandemic crash in March (after the fiancee bought me a Switch for Valentine's Day). Along with a Best Buy/Rocketfish Switch dock (before they changed their private label gaming-branding late summer to Insignia and went from a USB-C charger for their Rocketfish dock to a new propietary round plug to the dock). The OEM dock that came with the Switch is in my gaming tower rack in my living room, while the OEM I got from Mercari is in my bedroom gaming setup, as the Rocketfish is my current backup/spare). As for favorite game on the Switch....hrm....Physically, I'd probably say the Psyiko Collections, Super Mario Odyssey and Star Wars Pinball (ditto for snagging Mario/Rabbids when it was on sale for $15 way back when). Digitally, Bloodroots has been a pretty underrated find. (Course, if it were my fiancee, she's addicted to Animal Crossing New Horizons, along with Super Mario Party and Disney Tsum Tsum Festival.
That GBros. Is great for Dolphin Emulator on Samsung Note 20. I would suggest some rechargeable batteries for Rumble if you want it for Resident Evil Series on Gamecube on Dolphin.
I'm here a little to late, but guess is never to late, I just got a switch without a dock so I looking if I should buy the original dock or 3rd party one
These are some cool docks. In my office/game room I've been using the Insignia doc from Best Buy. I've been using it a over a year now and had no issues. I don't use it all the time mainly when I'm going to stream or capture footage, otherwise I play the switch in the living room on the OG doc. Have you had experience and thoughts on that dock?
I have tested the Insignia dock in the past: ua-cam.com/video/4tstKuZWBVA/v-deo.html I found for some reason my image quality was reduced with the Insignia dock compared to others. I still have it, but really, not a fan.
@@RoXolid interesting about the visual degrade. Maybe I should hook both docs up to the same tv and switch between them and see. I will probably get one of these in your video anyways as they have more features and usb and other ports as well
Rreaka is the best portable dock with the GBros. 8bitdo and a Gamestop BB111 rumble gamecube controller or SNES Classic controller or NES Classic for that matter.
i play a lot of tarkov on the pc but my god is vigor on the switch way more fun not as tactical but im pretty sure thats what makes it fun the fact i can play it anywere tops all the other cons
My favorite game is super Mario all star 3-D for the switch I can’t stop playing super Mario sunshine and just waiting for the new controller and 64 brawler controller can’t wait to get it
I have a Switch, I'm contemplating whether or not to upgrade to the OLED model and my favourite games are The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Wrestling Empire
I tried the Hyperkin S64 because of this video, imagine my disappointment when the video quality was downright atrocious. I guess I'll just shop around for another OEM dock because what is the point in the dock being connected to a TV if it looks bad...
@RoXolid I'm starting to wonder if it was a damaged product because I bought it used to get a turquoise dock... I used the OEM power supply and OEM HDMI cable that came with the OLED Switch.
I feel like Ethernet on the switch isn’t that great because it uses one cable into the switch so you have hdmi, Ethernet and power going though the same one cable into the switch so i can’t imagine that the internet will be that fast
If you think about it, this switch OLED doc does everything through the USB C Port into the system itself. There's no real difference, different parts of the connector are wired for different functions
@@RoXolid Thank you brother! I am afraid I may have it. Got tested this morning. I have had a lot of problems. I will know tomorrow or Monday. I am having to use my Nebulizer for shortness of breath. We appreciate the prayers.
Fair warning after this video one of the 3rd party docks bricked my switch I would recommend not cheaping out and buying the official one even if second hand. Nintendo uses some weird voltage on their usb 3 adapters and the 3rd party ones just can’t get it right
Not according to the engineers and product developers I've spoken to in depth on the subject. The dock, in and of itself, had little impact on the Bricking issue, which itself became an issue 3 years ago. Using 3rd party docks with the Nintendo power supply should not cause issues. This is why, for the most part, docks have been omitting power supplies for 2-2 1/2 years.
@@RoXolid If they guarantee to replace the switch then yea they are using identical power delivery as the oem dock. Anything other then OEM doc station you risk frying the Switch M92T36M chip.
