This run is comedy gold, from the absurdity of "RICARDO IS INVISIBLE NOW" to stunlocking Lorenzo to death, to the Scooby-Doo door chase that was the Ricardo segment. Hats off to Ecdycis for managing to work his way through that.
I feel sorry for never giving this game a chance, that Ricardo chase was the most stressful thing i watched this year and this runner did an amazing job narrating his course ... in a frog suit!.
Confirming Ecdycis' explanation: a traditional golem has the word אמת or "emeth" carved into its forehead. This is the Aramaic/Hebrew word for "life" and is the animating focus of the golem. Should it become necessary to force the golem to cease, the aleph can be erased, leaving מת or "meth", which is indeed "death".
The improvisation is unreal in this one. Had me on the edge of my seat during the live stream. It's so much fun watching this and you could tell that even Ecdycis was enjoying (?) the moment as well. Great commentary to top it off! Now that's a true horror block for you.

Holy shit that Ricardo messing couldnt have happen to a better person. As someone who just discovered this game, and having this very engaging and informative speedrunner explaining every bits, I can understand almost all the shit happening lmaoo. I love this guy 😂
I've been playing this game for literally 15/16 years. My friend found a PS2 for me to buy so I could play and stream it. I was told by somebody who was on my twitch stream that a lot of people were playing it and I couldn't figure out why. It's a little bit on the unknown side. But then I was curious about how fast someone could actually run this and I saw that gdq did it and now I understand why people actually are giving a fuck about it LOL
The intensity of Ricardo not cooperating was totally worth going over the estimate. That was an awesome run by an awesome runner! Totally gotta check out this game now
Low-key my favorite old-school survival horror type game I remember even getting alot of money for it back in the day even though I had like disk books full of games with like cut outs of the box art so like no booklet no game box severely used but working copy and the used game store still copped me like 40 for it which was probably low balling but I switched consoles and sold all my games cause no backwards compatibility and wanted cash for games on the new system
A cut scene that was scripted has Ricardo saying "Exire Debilitas". I got it translated from Latin to English and it means "go weakness". So plural Debilitas I guess are weaknesses 😥 Or Debbys 😂
From what I understand, the typewriter allows you to input specific words and print them out onto a plate, which is kinda required for a few puzzles throughout the game. However (not sure if this is new game + only or not) there are some extra words that can give you some items to help boost a couple of things in the player’s favor. For example, one of the words that was printed was “POWDER”, and that gives you an item that has a 1 in 6 chance of making Fiona’s kick deal extra damage.
Me during the Ricardo chase, screaming at my monitor: "JUST WAIT UNTIL THE CALM MUSIC RETURNS, DAMMIT." XD I played the hell out of this game as a kid, and all he had to do was wait for the background music to return when Ricardo left him, instead of immediately running into the room Ricardo just left in. Is stressful.
I think the issue was more so he had to make sure Riccardo wasn't going into the room he needed to go to, which of course he kept doing, which is why he had to keep luring Riccardo into rooms and hiding.
Thank you so much for this run GDQ and Ecdycis. I’ve wanted a speed run of this for the LONGEST time and is easily in my top 3 of favourite games! Huge fan of Ecdycis too, so informative and engaging’

This and Rule of Rose are two of my favorite Hidden Gem PS2 games. Funny enough you play a girl with a dog companion in both.
I love this game even though I remain scared of Daniella (and her theme) to this day.
