this has become one of my favorite games to play and this inspired me to start trying, i’ve been to scared to try but after playing a but more i feel more comfortable talking to my squad
New player here , today was maybe my fifth time playing SL because we didn’t have one … I actually started feeling comfortable, NOBODY was talking though … I ended up flanking a heavy tank and I placed an OP and called for an AT … my entire squad spawned on me and the engineer satcheld the enemy tank … I was like a proud father 😂
You nailed it on the head about being afraid of squad leading. I finally started doing SL, and I love it. Not nearly as intimidating as it seemed. I started as a “replacement” officer, when the SL dropped out. Really the only thing you have to really do is make sure your squads have decent OPs. Once you get comfortable, you start working with command more and that makes it significantly more fun. But yes, hearing squad chat and command chat at times can be overwhelming. Be nice to your SL if they don’t respond, just say it again and be patient!
Naw man, if your in to the game we’ll respect you and listen. Ive played with alot of young padwans and never had a bad experience. If they give you shit just swap squad, good players will help you out 🤜🏻
when youre young you get 1 mistake before you get dogpiled. its rough but that's life unfortunately, you can negate some dogpiling by saying you made a mistake and it happens. it will take the wind out of people sails unless they were dead set against you anyway.
Big problem is the free to play sector not using mics. Ruins the experience for those that paid the cost to take this ride.. especially when those players go squad lead and do not communicate with their squad or command chat.. and not playing the objectives.. you guys didn't pay the game so no excuses for not using or having a mic
@wardy940 not going to lynch you just use a mic. The veteran players will be more inclined to help and you will learn quicker by communicating. No excuse for not talking on mic or not beo6used to it.. unless you have no friends then make some by talking
been playing as squad leader to help me give leadership advice (i just started a company and think this is vital.) and i just got my first good talking community last night and we ran it for 10 hours. now im leading better and helping others. be patient! we all sucked once too lol
GamePass player here. I love this game. I have fun but I'm always trying hard to contribute productivity. I frequently role hop to address team needs (building nodes, garrys, recon vs arty - whatever is needed). Dutch a great game
Honestly, having a couple hundred hours in the game, as long as a new SL is placing an OP for me to spawn; have fun learning how the class works, talking with the other COs, etc. More people that know SL the better
A "Squad" without a Squad lead is just a bunch of guys playing CoD on a Hell Let Loose server. I understand why it happens. When this does happen, at least the squad lead isn't a level 1-3 who doesn't even know they're actually a Squad Leader so yeah, there is that. I try very hard to use this opportunity to take Squad Leader and start yapping on about what I'm doing and why. And GoudaGamer, your right, once you start talking to a bunch of new players they are much more likely to talk back. We tend to be a bit dismissive of new players, but that's how good games die. We need hundreds of new players, many of whom will quit and never play again. But if you get maybe 4-5 of them to keep with HLL, the game keeps getting a consistent player base. Be kind to Blueberries, case you were once one yourself. (Well actually, technically you still are from their perspective)
You see a lot of comments in youtube shorts about how someone tried HLL for an hour and hated it because it was just a running simulator before they just died from a headshot, and I think the correct response to that is "were you on your mic with your squad?" Because if you aren't talking with your team, HLL is just a sub-standard quasi-milsim fps.
Yes I am a newcomer with only about 8 games under my belt, but the last 4 I have played officer due to the lack of flanking and offensive Garry's. I have found that nobody cares if you are new as long as you are giving them a reason to squad up and complete a mission that can turn the tide
Don't forget to spurt out confidently spoken profanities. Seriously though, if you just acknowledge your teammates callouts and pass word to and from the commander, you will get a lot of commendations and xp
you didnt really explain anything, you just said the most basic version and that even the most basic player knows and then said eventually you will learn everything else, or watch it in a youtube video... wtf did you think we were looking for when we searched learn to play squad leader? make the video! don't make a video telling me to watch another video.

Nice! Yeah just keep it simple. Most people in the game are pretty chill tbh!
Yep!@@GoudaGamer

Finally thanks for helping newbies!
Gouda, thank you for playing on Mikey's Marauder with us and supporting the community
If you're a kid like me you will get so much hate when you are a squad leader
im 14 turning 15 in a month or so i feel ur pain

Not all are douches. I like it when the younger ones take interest. Just try to focus and take the game a bit serious.

Are you screwing up!?
Also provide positive feedback to your squad - like 7:10 "nice find". Players follow your instructions more if you provide them with +ve feedback
Yeah important thing to do!

Really, bud? I bet they have no money.
It is mostly console players.that don't talk
Btw it isn't free to play at all for anyone, it is mostly kids who don't talk mate you got to remember 12 year olds play his game .
Bruh they dont even type on chat

Nice Video, kept simple for everyone to understand, a job well done

I only play squad lead because I'm a control freak and also everyone is just waiting on the lobby for a new squad

Just put an op down guys.

Thanks for sharing. I have started to be squad later but I struggle with the map sometimes. Any suggestions
Cool video. Thanks mate.

dont forget to call out enemy locations to other squad leaders!
Why do you say the quality of the game is down?
Great work 👏
I DO enjoy the content
Thanks dutchie bro

Getting abused by the commander even though hes incompetent anyway😂
Don't forget to spurt out confidently spoken profanities.
