Congrats buddy. Was must watch TV in my house. You pulled all the monster cards (all but the #58). The Luke at the end was perfect drama. So happy for you.
Dude, the honest grin you have before cutting the box opens is why I open stuff, why I watch others (Like you) open stuff and makes me happy we can enjoy simple things like a picture on some old cardboard so much!!!! 🤣🤣
Idn’t it crazy? I mean… we all pretty much know what should be in the packs, if you know what I mean… but it’s still fun to see what order, quality, and condition they are in.. Not to mention that these should have been opened 45 years ago. So they are finally getting their day in the sun.
I was 8 when these came out. We lived behind a Plaza in Toronto. I would go to the store almost everyday and get a pack of these and a pack of Happy Days cards!
I totally know what you mean. I was the same, but for Baseball cards. Didn’t really think about Star Wars cards… although loved the movies. Awesome stuff. Thanks for watching
Love to see these. I hope people are this enthusiastic opening Star Wars boxes 30+ years from now and they pull one of the 1000s of sketch cards I’ve painted for Star Wars sets.
Have you really!? If you're being serious, that is so awesome. I'll have to check you out/look for your work. Thank you for watching! I'm pumped for the rest of this box. Thanks again Kevin.
Yep. I’ve worked for Topps as a freelance artist since 2006. I’ve done 1000s of sketch cards and you can find my art on base cards also. My art was on cards in 2010, 2011 Galaxy and a special insert for Galaxy 7 as animation cel exclusive to Target. Some are on my UA-cam. Perhaps we can do a collecting video together 😉
Good luck with the rips, E-Dub! I know how you feel - it pains me to see you crack into this Series 1 box, but I hope it goes well for you. I have a few unopened Star Wars boxes from 1977, but can't bring myself to open them, so thank you for posting these vids. In your recap, it would be good to see how many complete sets you were able to make from the box as well. Thanks!
Well, this box is a winner so far…. I’m far from done opening it, but I don’t regret it so far. It’s tough to hold off I know… I think I get weak when they are in my face all the time. If they are out of sight, out of mind… that’s when they are safest. Ha. Thank you for the well wishes Derek 🤞🏻
So pumped when I saw you upload this! Luke looks great and cards so far look fantastic. Appreciate all that you do and your investing so we can all enjoy this ride with you!

NICE!!! Luke looks good to me. I think you picked the right box. You're a first to do it on video. Thanks for sharing. I actually opened a box if these in 1977 as a 12 year old kid. Couldn't appreciate it at the time, of course.
I’m sooo glad I listened to you/y’all. This box is great so far. I’ve got a lot left… but am very happy with the quality of the contents. Thank you so much!
Heck, this is a big deal for us who are watching, at least me anyway….this is like an archeological dig…those are beautiful cards….just wow…that Luke #1…..I’ve got a funny feeling about that one, kind of like when I had to climb the rope in gym class- Garth from Wayne’s World
Well… I do my best to not be reminded of how nuts I am for doing this… but I feel I’m doing it for research purposes, and for the good of the channel 😬. Let me save YOU from doing something crazy, and just watch me. Hopefully I won’t regret it 🤞🏻 Thanks for watching though!!
Those packs look legit. The wax is sealed with a roller 2 inches wide so, it will only half of the back seal that should be stuck to the wrapper. Sometimes it's perfectly centered and sometimes it's lower or farther up on the fold. Corner folds looked good too. Box looks beautiful!
What a fun momentous reveal! Thanks for sharing with everyone. Those first 8 packs yielded you some nice “PSA submission worthy” cards. I can tell you’re a big Vader fan. It’s a shame the first one you pulled is miscut/very off-center. Hope you get a more centered Vader rookie card #7 in the other packs you open. It’s tough to get one with good centering and minimal surface issues. It’s too bad the Luke rookie #1 you pulled has that right corner ding (softness and crease) and off center top to bottom where image is higher up. The image has some slight rotation/tilt (as lower right border is thinner than upper right border). And when you hovered over the card with your magnifying glass, I noticed there’s some red color bleeding sections on the inner black border frame along the top-see the black border line above Luke’s head. For instance, notice at 37:54 the red and yellow fuzzy strip of ink on right part of that inner black line. I’ve seen PSA knock down grades because of those colored print ink lines that seep through. Sometimes it depends on the grader as some seem to be stricter than others. If I had to guess, if you send this particular Luke to PSA it might get a PSA 5 or 6. Hope you get some nicer Luke rookies in your remaining 28 packs.
@@keithsetliff4349 I can see it too… we will see how good we all are when this comes back! Can always hope for a miracle though right! …“Miracle” being a 7 in this one’s case
I totally see the bleeding that you are referring to. I always see much more after the filming is over. I was thinking a 7 before this bleeding that you now mention. I love and appreciate the fact that you’ve looked at it so we’ll. I might need your eye in the future 😉😏. Thanks a ton!
E-dub, I hope my comment didn’t come across as me being a downer. The Luke pull was so so cool! I’ve never ripped even one Series 1 pack so I can only imagine what you were feeling the moment you knew what card it was. It being a PSA 6 is totally my subjective opinion but would absolutely love to be wrong. Here’s to you pulling 2-3 more #1’s!

Nice cards!... I paid less than BBCE's fee for my series 1 box... didn't see myself selling so reached out to Steve with the idea that the next best thing would be to pull out the best pack and have it graded and keep it with the box... Steve thought that was a good play(he's a very nice, responsive guy)...

Of course, maybe there isn't such the volume of boxes being sent as I might've imagined.

Great box break so far! I hope what we’ve seen at this point is indicative of what the other packs hold. You’ve definitely got some 9’s in the stack and maybe even a 10 or two. Also, not sure if you know but if you send a superior empty wax box and inferior authenticated wax box to BBCE, they will move the packs over to the better box and wrap it. I’ve done this as recent as 7-8 months ago. The fee was a flat $8 plus shipping. Something to keep in mind if you ever want to improve the appearance of a box you plan to keep wrapped.
Wow! Had no idea! I have never sent anything in to BBCE. So far… all I’ve done is undo BBCE’s work. Ha! But good to know. And yes… this box seems to be shaping up to be a will printed box. I hope the luck continues. 🤞🏻

This one feels like maybe a 7 to me, but pulling it out of the wild is just a cool thing! Should honestly put together a pretty strong complete set from this box! Once you're done opening all of these, you could do a video going into a deep dive, close up of some of the better cards that you got! Honestly, I do not know why anyone would do this in the modern age. There are already past videos of this. This box is damn near perfect. I’d never own it. And that’s not even to mention the value. Opening this box serves no purpose. But do what you gotta.

You’re right in many of these statements. There ARE thousands of these out there… and sets of them (ungraded) still go for around that. I don’t think anyone (or at least me) is truly planning on getting rich from these cards. The fun of it for me at least, is to have a complete set that is protected from the elements, but also in good condition. It has provided quite a bit of joy to hunt these down, and mostly, open them up from packs myself. I’m certainly not trying to get anyone to do anything they don’t want to do on their own. I’m just cataloguing my journey. It doesn’t hurt though… that putting these cards in a state of protection (and grading), that they do seem to hold some sort of value. It’s fun to watch the value go up (and it does go down sometimes)… it’s like anything else. Only do it if it brings you joy. As far as “never sell for more than a few bucks”… that’s not entirely true. I’ve sold some for wellll more than a few bucks. That was only to feed my desire for more/different cards. The grading of the cards does cost money, but it also provides a confidence to the buyer that they know (within reason) what they are getting. These same buyers know that it costs money to get them graded… therefore, that is a good chunk of the built-in price hike. So, an ungraded card might go for $2, and the graded version (if given a grade of PSA 8-10) would garner a price of anywhere from $30-$500. Completely depending on the card of course. It is shocking though…. especially if you are just stumbling across videos on UA-cam, and seeing how people are talking about these crazy values. I get it! Thanks for watching!
