That's how I'm viewing this one, an update of the Motion Comic with a better production, we don't have the same guy playing all of the characters, his Silk Spectre voice had me rolling. . I'm a huge Watchmen fan, and I'm happy with a visual remake and faithful adaptation of the Comic. We will never get a live action version like the book, so this is just a fun piece of media for fans to add to their collection
If you're going to do an adaptation, it SHOULD be word for word. Anything else is a remake or interpretation. To many "adaptations" get away with changing too much, and it ends up being so far off the source material that it's barely recognizable.
Yeah, I still think that Zach Snyder’s version is very underrated. It may not have been perfect story wise, but I think he did a tremendous job translating the visuals of the comic to live action in a way that still looks good to this day. I also completely agree with you about the issue of not adding anything new and just adapting the story word for word. It’s the same reason why people don’t like shot for shot remakes of films. Not sure if I’ll be watching the second movie when it releases. I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on the dc justice league/watchman crossover comic “doomsday clock” that happened a few years back. I never read it, but it looked pretty interesting as far as watchmen sequel stories went.
LOVED doomsday clock…for about 3 or 4 issues, then it lost a lot of the intrigue. It introduced a couple new Watchmen esque people, and if they were kept then as the main pov characters it could’ve been an all timer.
This movie is so close yet so fair I think it would have been better in 2d and I think that some of the line delivery was awful I personally think the synder movie was better. It took liberties with the source material if you wanna see a shot for shot remake read the motion comic and also think it would have been better if it combined aspects of the movie and comic if that makes sense

But the single actor doing every voice, was so bad, lol. His Old and New Silk Spectre had me rolling, lol. . I appreciate the Motion Comic, and I see this as a remake of that Motion Comic
Snyder's version is perfect, the mood, the ost and the octopus omission. The hell was the purpose of the random octopus in the comic. It should become a meme, don't be unecessary like the octopus
Nah, the HBO sequel was trash. I never bought the main heroine. U tell me a lady in stronger then men without having supernatural powers? Also, she adopts children so she can do the same actions that killed their parents, what a smart lady.
@@yeahey5947 every single action taken by the main heroine is putting herself unnecessarily in danger when she adopted kids. How can u get immersed in the story anymore? The kids don't have any purpose
I thought "Watchmen The Motion Comic" has been the best adaptation, i just wish they had a full cast for the audio.

they made it cause they need to use the brand every once in a while so the rights dont go back to moore
They honestly could have re-dubbed the animated comic, which is still a fantastic way to experience the story

It's the exact same as everything else ... There's gotta be deeper plus more watchmen stories
I only enjoyed a couple of the before watchmen comics, but even doing that would’ve been something relatively new
