    ABOUT ME:
    Thanks for visiting my channel, I hope you enjoyed the video! I founded Caterpillar Cross Stitch in 2015 when I tried desperately for months to find a modern baby sampler my mum could stitch for new baby Felicity that would fit in with her simple, contemporary nursery. I love cross stitch, running, baking fruit cakes, drinking gin, eating salted caramel ice cream and most crafts!
    See you soon and happy stitching! Sally x

      I'm actually right-handed, but I had to go look at the video and was surprised to see that I did this all with my left! I broke my right radius once and spent months in a cast that went from fingertip to shoulder, so I came out the other side of that experience much more ambidextrous.

    Fastest knot to start this type of thing is a slip knot. Use it like a loop start and tighten up the loop once you pass the needle through. So easy, fast, and reliable

    Helpful! I’ve used liquid Fray Check but have also had that drip or run on the fabric. This seems less chemically!! 😂

      I have used fray check for other things, for sure. Part of the appeal of this for me was that I was going to be flying and didn't want to worry about the extra liquid since TSA gets weird about it!

    I like doing blanket stitch. I just do it whilst watching TV. I think it goes quite quickly once you get going. I have also used scissors that cut a zig zag. Thank you. X

      I haven't had good luck with Pinking shears personally, hence the blanket stitch!

    What a helpful video! I’m making a bookmark for my son and the fabric has frayed so much that I ran out of room and can’t finish without losing the last two lines. I don’t know if I should just do my best to secure the fray and just finish without the last two lines on the right hand side or if I should start over? 😢

    • @CaterpillarCrossStitch
      @CaterpillarCrossStitch  4 місяці тому +1

      I think this has to be based on how you feel. Do you feel that losing the last 2 lines will ruin the overall look? If so, maybe start again. If not, I would leave as is.

    I’ve always used painters tape but remove it after my project is complete.

    • @SonovaStitch
      @SonovaStitch 9 місяців тому +1

      I did this too once, but even though I removed the tape it eventually discolored my fabric where it was, even after washing.
