By far my favourite epic fantasy series. Magnificent from the first to the last world. I still cannot believe that such a fantastic story has been written. I'll be forever grateful to Robert Jordan
I first picked up towers of midnight while in prison and fell in love with the series. I eventually read all of them but not in order bc I could only read the ones that were available in prison. As soon as I was released I begin from book one until the last. I loved it and perhaps one day I will read them again.
I first read book one while I was doing some short time in county in 2003, got sent back in 08 (probation violation haha but thankfully I cleaned up my life and haven't been in the system since 2013) and during that second stay in county I found book 2 and read it, however I had forgotten much of the first one. As soon as I got out I started buying the series and read it from start to finish multiple times, it's my favorite epic fantasy series I love it
I reread the series in 28 days this time last year. Light, but it's good. Ain't never will be another like him, ain't never will be another story like this. And just listening to his wife speak, the love she had for that man is so apparent, so blindingly obvious, the pride she has in what he accomplished. Warms the heart.
Wait you read the series in 28 days? How many hours a day did you read at that time. I have been reading these series for almost a year and I'm on the second part of The Great Hunt!
There's no way you read this entire Series in 28 days impossible. It took me a year listening to it on times two speed and still took a year.. 28 days my ass
@@Kurama9Tails I read dragon reborn in 2 days, if you have enough free time, its possible to read the series in a month. Its just hard to do for the average person because of the time commitment.
Jp Kyuubi I did it in around 20 days. I read most books in the series in just one day. But I was sick during that time so I didn’t do much else. For my first reread I took close to two months. That’s why I don’t like audiobooks because it takes forever to finish just one book.
I remember when i first picked up Eye of the World in High School. i couldn't put it down and well i'm sure my grades suffered but wow. i read it and knew this was something special in these pages.
Screw anybody who dosent like these books. They have to be one of the best series i have ever read. the fact that people and I have kept goin all the way to 14 clearly means that they are great. i reccomend them to anybody who likes taking their time and enjoying detail and a complete submersive expereince that you will surely never forget. After reading these books. I can honestly say that my life has changed. Totally and completely for the better.
They're good but there are better fantasy series out there. I waited forever to read them because it's such a time commitment and everyone says the quality drops off after book 5 or 6 (which is true).
I do miss you Robert Jordan. Thank you for bringing the Wheel of Time into being, it has been an important part of my life for so many years now. I'm so glad you were able to do so much with it during your time with us, I know you must be feeling so proud of how it's all turned out, wherever you are now. RIP good sir.
The Wheel of time got me through some pretty terrible years in my late teens and early twenties. "Whatever comes, Face it on your feet." These words by Lan to Rand in The Great Hunt helped me when I needed them the most. This man's legacy deserves so much better than the In Name Only series on Amazon that claims to honor his work. I pray that one day, someone with the same love for his work and his fans as RJ had will come and we'll see a true adaptation of his works. Till then I will Treasure my physical copies and their Audiobook cousins.
Read Eye of the World in '97 as a teenager and was hooked every since. Read A Memory of Light as a 30 year old man and cried as I read the last chapters over and over. And now, 30 glorious years after Eye of the World came out, here I am after watching the trailer for the new series! Blood and bloody ashes, I can't believe it. Literally like a dream coming true. If this show is as good as the book it is about to dominate the fantasy realm on screen. Nothing comes remotely close.
No lie, I totally had tears in my eyes. I'll probably cry like a baby when I finally have 'A Memory of Light'.. and even more so once I finish it. I'll forever miss the man, the legend, the Dragon. R.I.P Robert Jordan - You'll live on forever in your epic masterpiece.
WOT is a masterwork. Just finished A Memory Of Light.. It was a long wait, 20 years for me since I first picked up book one. Glad I l lived long enough to see it.
Thank you so much for bringing this to us. It actually made me cry knowing that in 1 month we will have the final book in hand and his masterpiece will be finished...but I think his legacy will go on forever.
I met Harriet in 2010 when Brandon Sanderson and she did a book signing tour for Towers of Midnight. Asked her if Jim wrote Great Hunt before Eye of the World, a rumor I'd read online. I'm glad she set the record straight or I'd still be wondering. The original plan had been five, then eight novels. If Mr. Rigney had finished in eight books the series would be even more classic and he might've had time to write his Marooned trilogy which sounded even better than WOT.
I remember first learning about the wheel of time senior year of high school five years ago I had no idea what my friends were talking about I was like well ok sounds um interesting but I have five other book series's to finish and I pushed it to the back of my mind. Over the years I got so swamped by work I started listening to audio books and just a Jew months ago I was looking for a good fantasy series when I saw eye of the world and I thought isn't this what tony was talking about many years ago so I bought it and I was hooked and I got both audiobook for work and actual books for home and since then I have just devoured the series and I just finished Knife of Dreams and am about to start The Gathering Storm. All I have to say is Robert Jordan was a genius and if I could I would go back in time just to tell him how his books changed my perspective of how fantasy can be written and how his books are now my all time favorites.
Epic, truly epic - the story of his life as well as the stories he wrote! I was devastated by the news of his death, although I knew he was very ill. I'm so thankful that Harriet and Brandon have worked so hard to complete the masterpiece James Oliver Rigney Jr begun over twenty years ago! January 8th 2013 will go down as one of the most memorable days in my life (and many others) when I finally will be able to hold "A Memory of Light" in my hands.
Just started the series I plan on taking my time and working through it over a couple years. This video was very moving and makes me even more excited to read his work
Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time! For Jordan is the true Dragon, first in the Hall of the Servants and he will be born on an age yet to come and has born on an age long past
Martin is clearly abusive to the fan base: getting you connected to a character then slaying them brutally and senselessly. I'm glad the fans finally woke up to that. Jordan's works never were so melancholy, even with reality itself--the end of all things--hanging in the balance.
@@cheddar2648 He's "abusive to the fan base" because fictional characters in his book die? That's so ridiculous I don't even know where to begin. The deaths of his characters directly correlate with the themes of his books. If book characters dying is "abuse" to readers to you, I don't know how you leave your house in the morning with wrapping yourself in bubble-wrap.
People love Lord of the rings, Game of thrones, etc, but if this series was ever made into a television series or films, it would be the greatest series ever made. I saw a fan made clip called Flight of Shadow and it was brilliant. I could watch that all day.
Amazon and Sony are currently working on a tv series. It should be out in the next couple years. I just hope they do it justice, and don't totally screw it up.
as the time we all live may we all be blessed to live in a time to have an author as blessed as only the death we call the end...the true writer as this magician has created lives forever as only those creators we are blessed to live with....death is only the beginning thanks to minds like Jordon...may the wheel that wheel truly end come back full circle and create another dragon reborn...we all are part of the WILL...write my friends, your out there!
I have a question, in a new spring Moraine to used the power specifically she used Air, water, with touch Earth slam the pond water to hit LAN. However, Aviendha used Water, and Air only to put out the fore in The Gathering Storm chapter The death of Andrin. If anyone has an a wet please let me know. Thanks.
i just finished fires of heaven and it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING even without perrin. theyre talking about book 14 i only just finished book 5, just looking at the cover has got me excited and wondering
The sad thing is that now they can just grow a new heart. Within a few years they will be able to grow every single organ found in the human body and diseases like the one that claimed JOR will no longer hold such a terrible place.
