I’m about two years too late to this video, however I agree with a lot of your rankings. I love Ringo. He’s always been my favourite Beatle. I strongly dislike any Beatle fan (or any older music fan) who claims “Ringo’s solo career sucked” or “Ringo will never be as good as the other three.” His career has been a very rocky one, and I respect him for never ending it regardless of what he’s gone through. His voice is very suitable for a kind of bluesy/country kind of style; and I do believe that’s what was the best thing he had going for his Beaucoups of Blues and Sentimental Journey albums. This is a great video and I enjoyed listening to your opinion! 👍🙂
Nice List glad you put Ringo's Rotogravure high it was my very first Ringo album i bought when it came out. Ringo is definitely his best followed by time takes time and goodnight Vienna.
When The Beatles broke up no one took Ringo seriously and no one ever thought he was going to make it as a solo artist in the music business... But here he is after all these decades with a very good output of records under his belt still active and still going on strong...Not bad for someone who couldn't write songs or even have a decent voice for singing... Not to mention that his All Starr Band is a very good live act still performing well throughout all these years...
I haven't even watched this yet, and I am already commenting! Haha! The reason being, is that I am very excited about this video! For a long time I have felt that I would love to see somebody rank Ringo's albums. I myself do not have the knowledge of Ringo's music to do it properly. So I am so glad to see you taking it on Joe. I will definitely be checking this video out after I get out of work today. Looking forward to it! And thanks for doing it it's about time Ringo got his ranking! Take care, Matt

Thanks for this video Joe... you directed me here the other day in the live chat as I am trying to get into Ringo. I will give the top 3 or 4 a listen and see if I want to continue. THANK YOU JOE!
1. Ringo 2. Time Takes Time 3. Beaucoups of Blues 4. Old Wave 5. Vertical Man 6. Goodnight Vienna 7. Rotogravure 8. SASTR 9. Ringorama 10. Sentimental Journey
Time Takes Time is my favourite Ringo Album. I saw him live on the accompanying tour in Liverpool. So glad I've had the chance to see Ringo & Paul live in there home time.
Proud to find u man,& love your moniker! How great, a Ringo record review. For me,I wud have to have the great 'Ringorama'& even ur last choice 'Choose Love ' a bit higher; but we all have our little likes& dislikes, yeah. Definitely respect placing 'Y not'as# 5,cool record& some other comments will spurn me to listen 2,3 older ones soon. Oh yeah,' Vertical Man ' as well- so great ! And yes; put those u highlighted on vynal on vinyl this yr. Thanx 4 what u do, Mr.Mayo- nu subscriber Tn. Mike .
Ringo has proven time and time again that he is talented! My favorite album is Rotogravure but, I also like Stop and Smell the Roses. I must say that I love the picture of him on that album!
Love this video Joe and am a big fan of Ringo solo albums! Agree with your rankings for the most part. I’ve appreciated him even more as the years go on! He’s fun fun and fun to listen to! Always makes me smile! 😀
Not long ago I had become a little bored with my usual playlists so though I'd give Ringo another listen and glad that I did, sure on most albums there is fluff & filler but so many gems... Not many will agree but Paul's 2005 'Chaos & Creation' was the last album that I liked more than one track but not so with Ringo, 'Postcards', 'Give More Love' & 'Y Not' are very listenable with songs that stand side by side with his best work... 1. Ringo 2. Beaucoups of Blues 3. Goodnight Vienna 4. Old Wave 5. Vertical Man 6. Time Takes Time 7. Ringo Rama 8. Give More Love 9. Y Not 10. Rotogravure
Nice review! Personally I would have ranked RIngo Rama higher. I really love that album. Liverpool 8 probably a bit higher too. Not sure if I would have ranked Choose Love last but I would agree that of his recent albums it's definitely among the weaker of them.
I have many Paul & John & some George solo LP's & cd's , But only Ringo's greatest hits LP & some single. This video helps a lot , because I was always wondering what are the best Ringo albums to buy. Thanks for the tips & take care.
Great video Joe. I thought of you just yesterday as I found the 45 of Snookeroo in my local antiques mall, and I always remember you talking about liking that particular song. Cheers, James
Thanks Joe the Ringo LP is so hard to get so hopefully we will get an archive series similar to Paul and John . The RINGO Ultimate Music Guide has generated a lot of interest in his albums again which is good to see.
Well, I'm quite impressed that you have all of Ringo's album, can't say that I know many people with a full collection. Like you mention, you need to listen to Beaucoups of Blues a bit more, I would put it in his top 5, I like the cover too, it seems to reflect the period that it was released. Great video !
totally agree about Stop and Smell the Roses, love this album, Wrack My Brain is a George Harrison gem, and Nice Way by Stephen Stills is a great track. Sentimental Journey is also wonderful love Paul Mccartney's production of Stardust, and Bye Bye Blackbird always makes me smile. Love all of Ringo's stuff, I think as songs go Never WIthout You is so touching, and Liverpool 8 is another gem, I could go on. Great review.
My first Beatles record was that German “The Beatles Greatest’ I believe on the Odeon label you have behind you. Great sound too. 48 years ago and still love them.
Nice assessment of Ringo's work Joe. Without question "RINGO" is #1 and in the top 4 or 5 of all the Beatles solo albums right up there with "Band..", "All things...", and "Imagine". The one thing I don't care for on "Time Takes Time" is the use of different producers. You can tell when Jeff Lynne was doing the producing which I find a bit distracting. Still, you're spot on with the top 3. Kind of surprised with you choice of "Stop.." at #4. I, myself, would have put "Vertical Man" which happens to be the last Ringo album I've purchased that I think has a decent amount of songs. After that album, my assessment of Ringo's work has been via sampling it either on Amazon or UA-cam. Then, I just download the tracks I like. Still, I think most Ringo albums are a so-so affair. They all pretty much have a couple of really nice songs, some bad, etc. But none reach that level of the "RINGO" album. Would like to see maybe a 2 or 3 cd retrospective of Ringo's career. Some decent songs since his 70's work. lol. Songs like "Stop and Smell.....", "Wrack My Brain", "Weight of the World", Golden BLunders", "Liverpool 8", "La De Da", King of Broken Hearts", "Never without you", "Walk with you" and others deserve a showcasing. One thing I've noticed that since "Time Takes Time" Ringo's album covers are lame and show no effort.
Nowhereman64... there is an excellent double CD version out there, I believe it's a Russian release. I just me do a video showing all of Ringo's compilations in a video.
Brave of you to do this video. I got: Goodnight Vienna @ 1 Stop and Smell the Roses @ 2 Beaucoups of Blues @ 3 Sentimental Journey @ 4 Vertical Man @ 5 Ringo @ 6 Don't have "Ringo" Album rated so highly, I bought it on CD, & the guy who sold it to me at the Compact Disc Shoppe on Ave U in Brooklyn, told me, "hey its got all the Beatles on it", I dunno if people rate it highly because technically all the Beatles are on it, Goodnight Vienna is more focused, so I'll alway bump off the "Ringo" album and then I get to thinking about some of his other albums which I think are better than the Ringo Album and sadly I got the Ringo Album rated 6th ... I stopped there. What's My Name (2019) was a lackluster effort to say something nice, remembered being excited cuz he's got the Lennon pin and flashing the peace symbol but all the tracks felt like filler. One last thing, Beaucoup of Blues is a beast, really commendable of him to even put something like that out, say what you will of Ringo but the man followed his own counsel.
Grow old with me, not looking back, never without you, give more love, and you never know. Ring o was also the star of every one of the Beatles. Movies!
Awesome, awesome video! I really truly enjoyed this! You know, we've seen so many videos ranking George, Paul, and John. Heck, I've done a couple myself. But to see a full-blown video about all of Ringo's Studio albums and their ranking, I loved it! And I must admit, you and I are very close in our rankings. Time takes time would probably be my number two as well with Ringo from 1973 as number one. After that it may change a little bit here and there. For example I would have had Ringo Rama a bit higher beaucoups of Blues a bit higher and probably stop and smell the roses a bit lower. But that's just me. Overall I love your rankings. Not sure if I would have had choose love as the bottom feeder, but it definitely would be down there. And I'm with you I think bad boy should get more credit. It's a really good album. The Y not album is excellent and deserves to be where you placed it. I also love vertical man and was happy to see it up there. okay enough of my raving about your video haha! Take care and thanks for doing this, Matt
I actually find it impossible to listen to any John Lennon album. He was my favorite Beatle at first, so expected to continue from the Beatles right into JL. I can listen to any Ringo album though. Paul's now my favorite. That one Stop and Smell the Roses and Old Wave are very edgy in peculiar ways. I have only heard Old Wave once, never found it to buy, but I thought it was my favorite when I heard it. The first two albums before Ringo, I've not really heard, but eventually will. One is of course country, the other blues I guess? I absolutely love Ringo Rama, especially the closing tune. I like all the hints of Beatles songs on the Stop to Smell the Roses version of Back Off Boogaloo
Hi Joe, In my opinion Ringo's seventies albums are his best up till 1981 Stop And Smell The Roses. Most songs on these albums suited Ringo best. Especially on Beaucoup Of Blues and even Sentimental Journey. Of course the 1973 Ringo album, Goodnight Vienna and Rotogravure are exceptional Ringo albums as well. His later albums, beyond 1981 are not really Ringo albums. It is just like Ringo is just the singer in the band. I mean no Ringo identity, except for a few cover songs on various albums and songs like Liverpool 8 on the Liverpool 8 album and Rory And The Hurricanes on the Postcard From Paradise album and the album Time Takes Time is a good album. Ringo's I Wanna Be Sanra Claus is quite an enjoyable listen, it has Ringo's identity.
Give choose love a chance ! 😀 I think it's his best on the 2000's decade. Could you make a video discussing Ringo's songwriting? Like which ones of his songs you think are the best
I would have the Ringo album top by a distance but do agree with your other top 4 albums and 5th Rotogravure The others are to me workman like and hard to rank but do have enjoyable moments.Afraid apart from Cheesy Xmas album which is awful. We both agree that the priority is to get all the albums on vinyl.Cheers
Hi Joe . Good video . I do like your rating . But for me it is very hard for me to do this . My list dose change a lot on Ringo !!!! Being a drummer my self … I do get the beet :). All the best to you my friend !!!!!
Hey Joe, you had me until Bad Boy. I will finally admit that Bad Boy is my very least favorite solo Beatles album. The rest of the list is very good and very reasonable (although Postcards From Paradise is my second least favorite solo Beatles album). Nice list Joe. Take care...
Hi Joe. I stopped following Ringo’s career by the end of the seventies, for the most part. But I have heard “Time Takes Time” and certain more recent songs such as “La Di Da”, “Never Without You”, the re-make of “Love Me Do”, the duet with Paul, and a few others... but by far, my favorite Ringo solo album is 1). “Beaucoups Of Blues” followed by 2). “Sentimental Journey” 3). “Goodnight Vienna” 4). “Ringo”. 5). “Rotogravure”. 6). “Time Takes Time”. and lastly, 7). “Ringo the 4th”, which to be honest, I haven’t heard since 1977, but at the time, I found to be appallingly bad - maybe I should re-listen to it... I think that “Time Takes Time” is a competent, polished album, but to me, it just sounds like very, very, generic 90’s rock music - I’ve only listened to it about three times, I admit, but it just doesn’t capture my interest, unfortunately.. Nice video Joe..
Our tastes are very similar. Beacoups is the one Ringo album I could never really get into. It`s OK, but I find a lot of it forgettable. Sentimental Journey on the other hand is a straight up classic. People keep saying he should do an all country album... I say do an all reggae album!
When you take away most of Ringo's hits from the 70s, his greatest song, to me at least, is "Free Drinks" from Choose Love. That has to be one of the coolest songs he's ever done.
It took me years to finally get every release by Ringo. I was more onto the other 3 and even some Harrison I was missing. Now I have gone back and trying to really listen more than once to every album chronologically. Not to the point of ranking.
Hey Joe very good ranking of Ringo albums , I do like- give me back the beat off the Choose love cd & Don,t Hang up , with Chrissie Hynde is a pretty good Rocker as well, I do have the vertical man album also very good offering for Ringo every good reviewing of your Best to Least Ringo albums , hey I think I just found the best Beatles radio channel its free on line to listen to thru AccuRadio its called , Beatles Plus , it has every official Beatles track , plus solo material and the best covers , just been listening to it , good station , thanks for sharing your thoughts on Ringo , Rock on Peace
Doc Doccus - There's stuff you might enjoy on any/all of his other albums. I would suggest maybe listening to them online first to see what you think... it all depends on how dedicated you are to all Four. Me... I'm all in.
Beaucoups of Blues is probably my favourite Ringo album. Incidentally, 'Beaucoups' is a French word, which you correctly pronounced. The 'p' is silent. Having recently listened to all Ringo's studio stuff, I think his work with Mark Hudson is among his weaker material. I still enjoy it though.
I never took real interest in Ringo's albums after Weight of the World album. By the way, I starting really listening to the Weight of the World album and its grown on me. Rotogravure is very underrated, Ringo went in a different direction musically and the 180g remaster has brought new life into it.
Choose Love was a stinker!!! A massive let down after Ringo Rama. Hudson tried sooo hard to make another Beatle tinged Ringo album....I’m glad he stripped back his production with Dave Stewart...however his last two albums have been sort of the same...
Great video Joe. More of the younger Beatles fans need to discover some of this good solo Ringo music.
Thanks, and I agree 100% about Ringo.
It's finally here. Thanks Joe.
Nice List glad you put Ringo's Rotogravure high it was my very first Ringo album i bought when it came out. Ringo is definitely his best followed by time takes time and goodnight Vienna.
Great video Joe..for me Beaucoup of Blues is definitely a top 5 album, maybe even his best after Ringo. Keep up the good work.
All with a little help naturally 😉
John was concerned about Ringo and was glad he turned out well when he went solo.
Beaucoups of Blues is definitely a top 5 for me.
You’re definitely right! It’s core Beatles music, highest quality. Great country musicians to accompany Ringo here!
Proud to find u man,& love your moniker! How great, a Ringo record review. GREAT VIDEO JOE. I THINK RINGO IS UNDERATED. GLAD HE STILL TOURS AND RECORDS. TAKE CARE.
Old Wave's "In My Car" reminds me a lot of "Wake Up My Love" from Gone Troppo...and Gone Troppo is really an underrated album
great vid...rotogravure is actually my favorite ringo album....
Ringo has proven time and time again that he is talented! My favorite album is Rotogravure but, I also like Stop and Smell the Roses. I must say that I love the picture of him on that album!
Im on board with you for the most part. Vertical Man would have been higher on my list. Thanks!
Love this video Joe and am a big fan of Ringo solo albums! Agree with your rankings for the most part. I’ve appreciated him even more as the years go on! He’s fun fun and fun to listen to! Always makes me smile! 😀
I'm happy you gave Bad Boy some due . It's still my personal favorite .

Off the cuff, I'd say:
RINGO
GOODNIGHT VIENNA
OLD WAVE
VERTICAL MAN
TIME TAKES TIME
Great video. I love the Christmas album and Liverpool 8. I still need to get Old Wave. Thanks, Joe!
I own just one Ringo solo record, his Christmas record. (Probably the only time The Little Drummer Boy was sung by an actual drummer.)
Really nice job! I agree with many of your choices, but regardless, you did a great job of covering Ringo's oeuvre. His music gives me great pleasure.

I'm a big fan of Ringo's albums. I really enjoy a lot of them.I dont think he gets nearly enough credit. In my opinion he's awesome. "Peace & Love"
totally agree about Stop and Smell the Roses, love this album, Wrack My Brain is a George Harrison gem, and Nice Way by Stephen Stills is a great track. Hi joe. This is aunt Margaret. Thank you for sharing. I loved your commentary.
I am so happy to read this, thanks so much for watching and writing! ❤

Hello Joe great Ringo albums review next you could do a Ringo complolation review take care .
Harold Ingebretsem... that's actually a great idea. I have a few different compilations.
Beaucoups of Blues at #16? Oh the humanity.....:)
Brave of you to do this video.
I got:
Goodnight Vienna @ 1
Stop and Smell the Roses @ 2
Beaucoups of Blues @ 3
Sentimental Journey @ 4
Vertical Man @ 5
Ringo @ 6

Great ranking & I also like Ringo's "Love Takes Time" LP just as much as you do! Hope to find it on vinyl soon!
My favotite Ringo album is ROTOGRAVURE
I actually find it impossible to listen to any John Lennon album. He was my favorite Beatle at first, so expected to continue from the Beatles right into JL.

I absolutely love Ringo Rama, especially the closing tune.
I like all the hints of Beatles songs on the Stop to Smell the Roses version of Back Off Boogaloo
His first album was best....plus the Klaus Voormann artwork. If memory serves..Ringo had the first number 1 album after the break up.
Paul Drake...wasn't George's ALL THINGS MUST PASS #1?
I just started my vinyl collection about 2 months ago and I have Beaucoups of Blues, Ringo, and Goodnight Vienna, as well as 8 other albums
Great video Joe. Your comments were pretty fair although Vertical Man would be in my Top 5. Cheers...
Love 'Bad boy".
Hi Joe,
In my opinion Ringo's seventies albums are his best up till 1981 Stop And Smell The Roses. Ringo's I Wanna Be Sanra Claus is quite an enjoyable listen, it has Ringo's identity.
Stop and Smell the Roses would hzve been a better album if he'd recorded All Those Years Ago with the original lyrics, and Nobody Told Me.
@@farrellmcnulty909 totally agree
He’s the best he shouldered all 70s genre country glam even early post punk yes ringo !!!
Give choose love a chance ! 😀
I think it's his best on the 2000's decade. Could you make a video discussing Ringo's songwriting? Like which ones of his songs you think are the best
Will you be rating all of Ringo's live albums in the future? He sure has a lot of them. Probably not the most interesting topic though.
Steve Derda - Nah ...
I would have the Ringo album top by a distance but do agree with your other top 4 albums and 5th Rotogravure
The others are to me workman like and hard to rank but do have enjoyable moments.Afraid apart from Cheesy Xmas album which is awful.
We both agree that the priority is to get all the albums on vinyl.Cheers
David Jackson..."workman like" is a perfect way to describe the latter albums. I think I'll use it.
My 1 & 2 for Ringo is the 1) Ringo album and 2) Vertical Man.
Hi Joe . Good video . I do like your rating . But for me it is very hard for me to do this . My list dose change a lot on Ringo !!!! Being a drummer my self … I do get the beet :). All the best to you my friend !!!!!
:).
Ringo is his masterpiece. I love all Ringo albums though.
Hey Joe, you had me until Bad Boy. I will finally admit that Bad Boy is my very least favorite solo Beatles album. The rest of the list is very good and very reasonable (although Postcards From Paradise is my second least favorite solo Beatles album). Nice list Joe. Take care...
To my very surprise I totally agree with all of it 👍🏼🙂
Hey joe have you got a social media account I can contact you on?
Try meanmrmayo@gmail , and I will see if UA-cam gets it.
Rotogravure had some great tunes on it, but it sounds like it was recorded and mastered with a portable panasonic tape recorder.
Not my favorite Ringo album but I've been stuck on "Liverpool 8" for a couple weeks because "For Love" has been stuck in my head
Good song.
Robert P...it's a start!
Best to Worst

Beaucoups of Blues
Sentimental Journey

I really only need four Ringo albums: Ringo, Time Takes Time, Goodnight Vienna and Blast From Your Ass. That's all. Am I wrong?
Doc Doccus - There's stuff you might enjoy on any/all of his other albums. I would suggest maybe listening to them online first to see what you think... it all depends on how dedicated you are to all Four. Me... I'm all in.
Beaucoups of Blues is probably my favourite Ringo album. Incidentally, 'Beaucoups' is a French word, which you correctly pronounced. The 'p' is silent. Having recently listened to all Ringo's studio stuff, I think his work with Mark Hudson is among his weaker material. I still enjoy it though.
Andrew Bowman... I thought the Mark Hudson partnership was good at first, but eventually became a little played out.
I never took real interest in Ringo's albums after Weight of the World album. By the way, I starting really listening to the Weight of the World album and its grown on me. Rotogravure is very underrated, Ringo went in a different direction musically and the 180g remaster has brought new life into it.
My top 5
Ringo
Time takes time
Goodnight viena
Beaucoups of blues
Y not
✌
Interesting video - I think your ratings were very fair and realistic - Take Care
People Hate Stop and smell the roses?!?!
This is an old video, but I would say it's not always well regarded.
Time takes time is amazing. Old wave is good, but not memorable. The ones on cd I haven't listened to yet.
Choose Love was a stinker!!! A massive let down after Ringo Rama. Hudson tried sooo hard to make another Beatle tinged Ringo album....I’m glad he stripped back his production with Dave Stewart...however his last two albums have been sort of the same...
My number one album for me is the Ringo album. Goodnight Vienna would be number 2. Y not at number3.
Totally agree with choices...
