Thanks for your videos Ben. Do you have any thoughts on strategies to prevent the watch time from completely tanking? Tried this method with two videos and watch time fell from >45% to 6.5%. These are videos designed for search so hopefully I've not killed their chances as evergreen content long-term ***crossed fingers***

Hi Ben, should we create an unlisted copy of the video we are going to be advertising? Supposedly, it should prevent the ads from somehow decreasing the organic performance of that video (by lowering the watch time of those videos). I've heard this in a lot of videos on this topic (growing a channel using YT ads).
Now, it just doesn't seem right to me at all that these ads would have an intrinsic effect on organic performance in any way whatsoever, but I hear about this time and time again. What do you think about this?

Good question. I do feel that promoting a video may hurt that particular video's rankings organically on Google. However, I'm not recommending that you promote all your videos. The idea is to promote a couple that build an audience which will help your other videos rank a lot better. I would not create an unlisted copy.
