Eight bolts hold the sub frame in. You will have to remove it first, but make sure you support the motor with a frame support from the top. Then make sure you put a transmission, Jack under the transmission. And jack it up just to where it starts to grab So you don't strip out the threads. Make sure the car is plenty high enough.
This is the most comprehensive video I have ever seen on UA-cam for a Cavalier! Thank you so much for this. This is alot of work but very straightforward thanks to you. I wish I had more time to try this on my Cavalier. But since it's my daily driver i couldn't. I paid a shop to do it for me. Would this also work on a 2004 LS?
Howdy Raven. I don't believe I could offer any help with that. I'm pretty much a DIYer so I only tackle what I can get my hands on and understand. Good luck!
First parts depending on if the manuals are hydraulic or cable driven, clutch pedal manual trans flywheel and clutch kit manual shifter and shifter cables and also a manual transmission. May require some drilling and or cutting
I'm doing an auto to manual cavalier swap right now, want me to upload some videos for you? I'm going from the 2.2 eco tech + auto to the 2.2 OHV 2200 sfi + 5speed manual (getrag f23/m94).
Sorry, I don't know the size of the bolt. As far as ancillary....it means all the other goo that is around/attached but not directly related to the subject at hand:)
@@regularliving5096 Thanks for getting back to me, I should have taken your advice and not tried it at home, i managed to replace the clutch but i can't get the shifter to work properly, could you please tell me if there's a special trick to reinstalling the shift cables, like does the transaxle have to be in neutral or something? Thanks again.
@@johnpalma7265 Howdy. During the entire process I did not adjust the gear-shift lever in the vehicle and did not make any adjustments to the connections on the transmission housing. When I remounted the transmission everything popped right on. I apologize that I could not help with a solution. Have a great day!
The bolt dance sounds real fun! Almost makes me want to try this!
Hooray!
Most helpful video so far on this... Got a 98 Sunfire I'm doing this on, so 99% same... Sounds like the subframe will be the next step....
Hooray! I hope this helps!

@@regularliving5096 O.K. no problem. I'll probably take it to a shop and see what they say, cars are just such a joy. Thanks
Do you know where the purge valve is located?
No, I don't know where this is located. Thanks for watching!
That's really not all too bad. my trans has to be dropped, replacing the clutch.
