- A trainer was attacked by a dolphin during Miami Seaquarium’s Dolphin Flipper Show in Florida. After investigating the incident, the aquarium said, ‘Both [the dolphin] and the trainer are recovering well.'

Dolphins weren't meant to be kept in man-made unhealthy environments from the start. Can't blame these poor creatures for their reactions. They don't wanna be kept in those unnatural tanks.

When are they gonna learn? These dolphins may not EXACTLY be pets, but there is a reason why it's illegal to own exotic pets in most places in the 🇺🇸. I live in CT. I REMEMBER TRAVIS THE CHIMP. Look it up. Does not matter if you reared them young. Does not matter how many years you've "worked with them." Which btw, taking a creature from its natural home, bringing it to a "new home" and making it work by doubt the things you tell it to....sounds familiar. When are these places going to be shut down already? How many animals/people need to be injured or, idk, DIE before the realization that these animals don't belong in these places? It's infuriating. We've learned everything we're going to fruition these animals, now they're just entertainment. Conservation can be done differently so I don't wanna hear that. We have plenty of national parks that serve conservation. Build one connected to the ocean. Will it cost a lot of $? Yes. Yes it will. But it would be worth it.

It’s been reported that the animals at Miami Seaquarium are being underfed in order to make them perform better, leading to aggressive behavior. This dolphin was probably hungry and attacked out of frustration.

See you accidentally scratched the dolphin and it went ballistic cuz that hurts them so can you imagine how many times in training how many times and everything they got hurt and then they're suffering cuz they're stuck there with in a tank by their self without their families that is a lot of bad things to happen to one person let alone one animal at a time best leave him alone when they're supposed to be by their selfs and with their pods not with humans in a pool
Jesus can’t believe they are still doing these stupid shows. I grew up going to Miami seaquarium in the early 2000s. They were doing these shows then and are still doing them now 🤦🏻♀️

That’s called a receipt. The trainer got buyers remorse. But he bought it.
Do humans work for treats not enough to support their lives that they have to get a partner to split expenses so they can afford time off once in a while.
And they are still selling dolphin experience
As disappointing as this is to see (yes, I’m concerned about the dolphin), I feel that it’s necessary to point out that these dolphins have been in captivity for a long time, and therefore would not fare well in the wild. So while I’m not saying that we should be keeping them for entertainment, and dolphins in captivity right not likely would be worse off back in the ocean than they are in captivity.
(Please note that some zoos and/or aquariums only take in animals that have been injured or abandoned in a way that would make it impossible to survive in the wild. Although those are mostly rehab centers that don’t use the animals commercially, they’re not all bad guys.)
