I'm always looking for an ultimate hang. I do like this spot, but only one I've found so far with a great view.

Nice review, and view. I don’t know of any hammock that doesn’t give you a wall of fabric on your non-head side. I own Dutch’s Chameleon, and WB Eldorado. The Chameleon has the clips for the under quilt, which is nice. It’s also a little more stretchy. The Eldorado has the net pullout, the Chameleon has a pull out but lower. On the Hammock Gear site, their hammock looks low cut on the sides, but I’ve never actually seen one. The double continuous loop is a good idea. I put a 16” loop on the inside at the head end to pull myself up if I slip into the coziness to much. So many ways to hang a hammock, it’s up to what works best for you. I’m a whoopee sling guy, when I can get trees far enough apart. Cheers from Chicago.

This is what I love about hammocks, all the options. I'm a big fan of low cut sides, which I have on my WB XLC. I want to open my eyes and have a clear view out. PS - love your idea of an inverted loop to pull yourself up. Thanks for watching Chicago.

Thanks for the review and handy tips. Long time 11foot/83% user, 6ft myself, recently bought a couple 12’ Tukeke hammocks (good parachute material, well stitched, no frills though) for £5.20 apiece in the UK posted, the 12’ ones must’ve been not so popular, but I’m looking forward to getting out in them later in the spring (Grampian Scotland), when it’s a little bit drier. Made my own half bugnets, rain shields, adj ridgelines, hang straps etc for both our hammocks, the bugnets attach via adjustable elastic cord to the ridgeline, so should be transferable without issue. Always rather surprised that so relatively few here have yet discovered the warmth and comfort afforded by a good (even if basic) parachute nylon 11’ or 12’ hammock decked with a decent down fl underquilt - hard to get out of it in the morning, so cosy, comfy and always get a great sleep in them! 👍🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😊🥃

Never tried a half bugnet. All up for saving weight and like the idea of an elastic attach to the ridgeline. Nothing like a hammock with a good UQ. Quite agree, the hardest thing to get used to with hammocks is climbing out of it in the morning. Thanks for the comment. I'm taking a break for a bit, but hopefully more videos down the line.

Great review! I'm thinking of trying this hammock out. Here in Florida, the netting will be sufficient for Mosquitos, but for "no-see-ums" as we call them (tiny midges that live near the water and can crawl through some mosquito netting) I'm not quite sure if it will suffice.

While I love Florida, man you have some bugs there !! Never knew midges could get through netting. I've done hammocking in Scotland which has killer midges, and I survived. Everything in Florida seems to bite or sting - not sure I'd last long. Thanks for the comment.

That was a competent review of the onewind zipper hammock. Thank you. I am not a huge fan of onewind, allthough it's my first hammock to sleep well in. I was pretty sure that the zipper wouldn't be grand quality, so I got the bottom entry bug net version. My assumption is that their 70D Nylon fabric is not the greatest either, and inferior to western 70D. My 100kg body weight sinks in quite a bit when I lay down. I prefer a stiff zero stretch lay.

Really appreciate the feedback. You bring up a very good point about material and I have not really ever got into that aspect. My Hummingbird is so thin and clearly has a lot more stretch than other hammocks I have, which I kind of like personally. I may start looking more into the material options and compare when I'm out next. Thanks again.

@@badgeroutdoors3115 I will try a double layer 70D, DIY hammock at some point. just to know what's the least stretch I can get. I think this makes a big difference in Hammocks. It's the backbone of any hammock really. Cheers

Happy new year, i need a new hammock, mine is a 10ft hammock at the moment and is too small, im only 5ft 8. Question is would you for 11 or 12ft .

Tough one. Big is more comfy if you can handle the few grams extra. Think about your ridge line length and tarps. A 12 ft may not fit under your standard tarp unless you keep the same hammock ridge line length as used on an 11ft. You then end up with more sag, but i've found I quite like that. I'd certainly agree 10ft is probably too small. At your height I think 11ft should be fine, but I'd always be thinking about 'what if' I got the extra comfort !

Hi Mike. Sorry for the late reply. The pillow is the Therm-a-Rest - Compressible Pillow Cinch - Kissen. Still love using it in the hammock. Here is a link. www.amazon.co.uk/Therm-Rest-Compressible-Pillow-Sleeping/dp/B09LNQYWVX?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A33IEHNWWIUUWD

Is thata full size underquilt? Looks small just because the hammock is so large?

No, the Cumulus Selva 250 is only 150cm, so summer only really. Occasional cold feet if the temperature drops. Got the 450 for colder hangs which is full size at 195cm.

That's sad when one can not carry a knife without getting in trouble, because of what came into one's country and messed everything up, you can't carry a gun on your hip without going to jail in your country, thank God that we have the 2th Amendment here in the United States that protect us from a tyrannical government.

Spot on. We are not allowed to defend ourselves in this country as the police are there to do that, but nowadays they aren’t, and we are importing knife crime. But as you say, I’m more interested in defending myself from the deep state. You are lucky to have your 2nd amendment, while we in the UK are not even allowed to protest now. Going to be a volatile few years ahead.
