Did you think this slamming Metallica song could be so haunting and beautiful? A bit of a shocker. That white Gibson Explorer was given to Dany onstage mid-show by Lzzy Hale! And those "Whoah" tracks are from Alyssa Cara who partnered with them on this for the Blacklist project.
I'm an old guy, I've seen The Beatles and The Who, Jimi Hendrix and Cream, the Stones and many others of the heyday of guitar rock bands, and these girls put on a better show, have a bigger sound, and on top of their perfect performances, write one great song after another. Rush was without doubt a more accomplished band instrumentally, but people don't go around humming Rush songs to themselves. You're looking at the future of rock and roll, which is so bright, we're gonna need shades.

Really loved your reaction it was similar to my first time seeing this cover. Alessia’a team contacted The Warning (the two groups share international management agents) and the two groups wrote, recorded, and produced this entirely new version of Sandman in only ten days that ended up being the lead track on Metallica’s anniversary album. The official music video is also worth checking out. I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Dany very sweetly puts you to bed, then rouses the troops, shares a little prayer, the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the Sandman tale. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one. Yeah, Pau's kit in this show sounds absolutely huge. Part is gear, part is mix, but much is player. She has said that that O-zone cymbal is her favorite on the kit. I never knew I needed Sandman to be played in half-time before hearing this version. Talk about taking a classic and having the huevos to turn it backwards and make it a completely new song.

Alessia Cara is a Grammy winning Canadian Pop and R&B singer... they had 10 days to rip this rendition of *Enter Sandman* from the ether and make it a darker, more eerie, and a more haunting lullaby than the original metal version... this was done because they, and many other artists from numerous genres, were invited by Metallica to take one of the songs from the original "Black" album, keep the lyrics and change it up how ever you like... play it backwards, upside down, whatever... this was all for the 30th anniversary of the "Black" album... all the submissions from 50someodd artists were put on the 2021 "The Metallica Blacklist" album... the proceeds from the album sales are split 50/50 with half going to Metallica's "All Within My Hands Foundation" and the other half being donated to a charity of the participating artists' choice. in the OMV, Dany (guitar) and Alessia share the lead vocals until they are in the three doorways when Dany takes over and Alessia does more of the background oooohs and aaaahs... the version they play in concert has Dany doing the vocals with a backing track of Alessia's ohhhs and ahhhs... of course Ale (bass) and Pau (drums) join in with their angelic harmonies in both... this is a fantastic reimagining of the iconic original... this 60+ year old rocker loves both versions of *Enter Sandman* but this one by TW and Alessia gets more airtime these days 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
