These ladies delivered exactly what Metallica asked the artists to do - "Turn it on it's head, play it backwards, we don't care" - for the Blacklist compilation.
Imagine the courage it took to disassemble an iconic rock song and reassemble it like they did. The Warning ladies are fearless in their approach to their music.

@@AngelDReacts Check into it, there were (I think) 52 artists from all different genres invited to 'cover' the songs from the Black Album however they wanted. The Warning took the instructions seriously when they were invited by Alessia Cara to work with her. Alessia was invited by Metallica to participate, she was unsure what to do with the invite so The Warning was invited to work with her. They had about 8 days to complete the project and since it was during the shutdown, Alessia was in Canada and TW were in Mexico. The entire project was done remotely. There is an Official Music Video that is pretty awesome - also done remotely for Alessia to participate.
The whole Blacklist project was done for charity.
Proceeds from The Blacklist Album benefitted charity.
Easily one of the best tracks on the Blacklist album, Alessia and The Warning did an AMAZNG job making this song their own.
The Warning owns this song now.
I've seen other bands covering their version of it.
Its from the blacklist album the band wanted all these different bands to cover that record and not to change the lyrics but make it their own and this is the first song on that album

The opening line " Take my hand" is the closing line of the original . Then they close the song with the opening riff of the original.
They literarily turned the song on its head.
I'm a Metallica fan since 86 , and TW's rendition of Enter Sandman for me is brilliant ,they really make it their own

The first track is simply because ES was the first song on the Black Album and Alessia Cara the first artist in alphabetical order among ES covers.

If you think this was good and as a fellow Metallica fan watch "The Warning covers Metallica's Atlas Rise" at the Whiskey 2019, this is what they wrote in description; "After years of not playing covers on stage, we belted out this awesome rendition of “Atlas Rise” for one our dear friends and ultimate fans! Metallica has been a great inspiration for us as well as an important factor in our profesional lives. It is a true honor to play their song, we hope we did it justice and you enjoy it as much as we did playing it!" I honestly believe that Metallica seeing or being shown this video is one of the main reasons TW is on the blacklist album.
one thing - remember The Warning weren't invited to go on the Blacklist album. Alessia Cara was invited and it just happened that The Warning had the same management so they were asked to join her.

I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Dany very sweetly puts you to bed, then rouses the troops, shares a little prayer, the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the Sandman tale. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one.
The Warning & Alessia Cara, what collaboration. Awesome stuff.. of course Alessia Cara isn't at this show but her voice is played in the backing track to fill out the sound... it's brilliant..🤟🎶☮️

Nice Reaction! This was not The Warnings first foray into doing a cover of this song. The first one they did was in 2014 when they were 14, 12 and 9 years old. They played that one true to the way Metallica plays it and it went viral and gained them alot of attention. The video is here on YT.

DPA/TW and Alessia Cara certainly understood the assignment!
Alessia Cara is a Grammy winning Canadian Pop and R&B singer... they had 10 days to rip this rendition of *Enter Sandman* from the ether and make it a darker, more eerie, and a more haunting lullaby than the original metal version... this was done because they, and many other artists from numerous genres, were invited by Metallica to take one of the songs from the original "Black" album, keep the lyrics and change it up how ever you like... play it backwards, upside down, whatever... this was all for the 30th anniversary of the "Black" album... all the submissions from 50someodd artists were put on the 2021 "The Metallica Blacklist" album... the proceeds from the album sales are split 50/50 with half going to Metallica's "All Within My Hands Foundation" and the other half being donated to a charity of the participating artists' choice.
in the OMV, Dany and Alessia share the lead vocals until they are in the three doorways when Dany takes over and Alessia does more of the background oooohs and aaaahs... the version they play in concert has Dany doing the vocals with a backing track of Alessia's ohhhs and ahhhs... of course Ale and Pau join in with their angelic harmonies in both... this is a fantastic reimagining of the iconic original... this 60+ year old rocker loves both versions of *Enter Sandman* but this one by TW and Alessia gets more airtime these days 😹

You should react to the official video for this song. The original is a collaboration with Canadian pop star Alessia Cara. That is the version that appears on the Blacklist Album and the video is an experience in itself and worth a reaction.

The Warning is all rock!
I'm pretty sure nobody has ever heard a version of Enter Sandman the way The Warning & Alessia has remade it, it is so very different. The ladies knew it was originally a creepy lullaby James wrote for his son, so they reversed the arrangement, dropped the solo, and made it as creepy as they could while fusing Alessia's R&B sound with a hard rock/metal sound. Seems very creative to me.
The Warning are master storytellers. I now prefer this version over any other, as these sisters build great tension and anticipation then drop the heavy sound hard.
Yeah it’s different , they all 3 can actually sing lol . Also you can actually hear the bass , and last of all Dany is the only guitarist so she is doing James and Kurt’s parts while still singing and the drummer is also a lead vocalist .

Lars told them to do something different, so they turned it upside down and backwards.. Such a genius arrangement. For example they start with 'take my hand', the original ends with that. The original starts with that iconic riff and they end with it here. Metallica could never do the harmonies. And Dany does a pretty good Hetfield growl. lol
the Metropolitan Theater in Mexico City holds just over 3000 people... DPA/TW sold out both nights, the 26th and 29th, they performed there in Aug 2022...
in 2023 they played at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City and sold it out with 8000+ tickets...

I love their arrangement for this song. IMO saving the main riff for the outro was brilliant, such a buildup and anticipation and the payoff at the end never felt so good!
I remember these girls....when Ale was so small she couldnt properly hold her 3/4 bass and had to sit on a stool. This was the song that introduced The Warning to the internet. They covered it in their parents basement. They played Metallicas version. That was 7 (?) Years ago. How far theyve come. Ive been a stalwart fan since I saw that video and commented that they were destined for greatness. Us OG fans kind of feel like the girls are our girls. And they never dissapoint. I'm just going to guess that you don't own a copy of the 30th anniversary Black list box. Metallica asked them to do as they please with the arrangement, of any song from that LP, just keep the lyrics true. They are the First artist, on the first LP, of 50 artists, involved on that charity LP. They do have a box opening video, when Metallica sent them their own personal black list box. They do a cover of Atlas Rise if that's something that interests you. 🤘

I, like you, am a big fan of Metallica, I met these sisters thanks to their cover when I was little, a cover that Kirk Hammett himself shared on his social networks, not only for that reason, but after knowing the story better and following these sisters, I became a fan, they are incredible and their songs always captivate me, as do those of Metallica, which is still one of my favorite bands now along with The Warning.
