Thanks for you review there. Could you tell me what brand is the direct drive you re saying it vibrates a lot and makes you hand go numb. I wanna know because I m considering several machines, similar design, like The Invictus from HM, made in Spain, if you ve heard of it and ever tried it. I need a new rotary that doesn t vibrate. Sadly I can t work with my coils anymore, my hand can t handle any vibration. Let me know if you ve got any advice! Thanks! Dai.
If u remove the spring while running carts it will not over heat. Pro tip😁
question : when lookin at rotary machines and cartridge needles , is it to prefer to have a machine with no give when using cartridges or does that depend on the cartridge itself ? or does it work aswell with give on the machine
Give or no give on machine that would be personal preference. As for cartridges - they don’t have a give they have rubber bit or membrane that pulls it back so they have resistance that might not work on all machines. No give seems to be more popular choice
@@TattooShopTalk thankx for answer , it seems logic to have no give to push the cardridges more easy but my thought was if the machine would take damage trying to push a cartridge that is lets say heavy . never tried em so had to ask :) - plunger bar comes in differenth lengths aswell is there a standard mm on thos or why are they different lengths ?
When I first started I got a Chinese kit but I ended up buying all new parts and rebuilding the machines till they tune really well. I also wondering if you ever used a 14 wrap coil and what you thought about the Inkjecta flite nano rotary. Thanks guys!!
So you pimped up Chinese kit.
No idea about 14 wrap coils. And on Inkjecta- lately more and more tattooists around that I know are switching to Inkjecta and they are happy with it as a good all-round machine.
Tattoo Shop Talk yeah the only thing that's still original is the shape of the frame because I even sanded most of it down to its stainless color. Anyway thanks for filling me in man I just dont hear much about Inkjecta.
I working with coils for years. Mostly sunskin and lauro paolini. (and some other brands) I try few times rotaries, but not working for me.. Maybe when my wrists gone i switch. But for now im loyal to the coils. Nice video guys.

What is your thoughts on Lauro Paolini machines? They are so everywhere that it puts me off
@@TattooShopTalk i use old models have 4 of them year of production around 2009/2010 (shape, spider 2x, nuvolari) very good machines. 8-9 years without problems. If is right set uped this machines make one pass lines, and smooth shades like dream. Have no idea of quality this days production. But this "old" models was very good. (I saw some pieces have still on website.) Last maybe 3 years i buy sunskins very good liners, and packers. Have some mickys as well and one from the "polish" guy 😁. And two from czech company piratmachines very very good packers for nice price. Make direct rotary as well. And i become last year as a present from my brother in arms v. Portugal shader. Nice machine too. And i start this game with classic spaulding and rogers machines. Golden times 😊. This babys are retired now.
I also use Lauro Paolini and Sunskin. The machines that I have from Lauro Paolini are also from 2009-2010, models of great quality. I have the Shape, the Paul Rogers, Owen Jensen, the Nuvolari, and the Nivola, among the first to come out.
I have both the Lithuanian Moonlight and Sunshine machines... hands-down my favourites all day long! Their Buffalo Rotary is also a dream to use.
There are lots of good European machine builders out there that don't cost the world to buy (Mao & Cathy, Fabio Mendez, etc).
Moonlight seems to be out of stock on their webpage like forever

@@johnnysomersett8885 How can you compare the Buffalo Rotary to a coil machine for lining with 9 or 12rl? I'm planning on buying one for lining and I'd like to get an honest comparison
@@whatisthis__95 it is very similar to a coil in the way that it puts lines in with very little effort. If you like liners very fast then this machine may be too slow for you but for 7rl and above it is great.
@@johnnysomersett8885 Thank you for your reply. I have no problem moving my hand slower, what I want the machine to be able to is to push the needles into the skin without much trouble, without the need to tighten the skin to the point where it seems it's about to break, which is the case with most rotaries. It seems that I might need to give it a try haha
It's very easy to set up the dragon fly for cartridges u just remove the stay up spring that's all
You are probably correct. I watched their UA-cam video on how to do and it seemed scary

Tim Hendricks is the shit. Best coil machines I have. And Union Machines. Big 5 and Rupe build some really punchy machines over at Union.
Those big boy names are mentioned a lot. Nothing bad had been said about them as well. Thank you for input
I'm in the us I have a fuck load of machines but I feel like euro machines are really amazing I have a liner from Alex Rodriguez it's amazing cool machine but I'm really in love with the xion by fk and the new Cheyenne sol terra and hawk pen
In Europe we look up to coil machines from US especially in traditional department (I guess there is part of romance in that as well)
The first word of advise when buying a machine should be not to buy it in black if possible, it's much harder to see if it is not perfectly clean

lol he said critical is the best arrrgh noooo! It causes me troubles but I'm not sure if it's my bishop cord or the critical power. Thank fuck the new battery works great.
Everyone I know who uses Critical have no issues at all until you break it physically. Not sure how they handle all the new pen type machines yet haven't heard complaints
@@TattooShopTalk well you could be right. I paid allot for the kit, so I treat it well and this has been happening since i opened the box my kit came in. The culprit could be the Bishop power cord that came with my bishop fantom, it slips. It has never fallen off.. Anyways I bought a tatty machine called the radical lux yesterday., I can't recommend the machine, but the battery that came with it is was awesome. When I put it on my Fantom I instantly felt the difference in the smoothness of my motor.
Coils don’t overheat if you put a 100uf 35v cap on them

Tattoo Shop Talk I can change a broke spring and cut a brand new one from feeler gauge stock put back on machine and retune in less than 5mins put 22m front/back and you will not believe how much better any machine runs with bigger capacitor too
So what is the some of the best rotary machines for lining that won't break the bank?
T Rampy any rotary can work look at bishop rotary videos on it you realise you just need change technique up to make it work
@@TattooShopTalk have you guys heard of xeneeph irons they make customs from mexico. They built some rotaries but i cant find reviews on any.

Tattoo Shop Talk Victor Portugal machines .mickey sharpz. Vlad blad .realy reliable machines.they don't lose a beat .at least the can be repaired in minutes unlike a rotary machine.

than this big company bs!! my personal opinion
Seems like a common issue. I have heard from few tattooists that it's heating up like crazy and now your situation is second time I hear about motor breaking
