I have 4 machines and have been thinking about this. It's definitely way smoother.. And the slight increase with the noise is probably due to the efficiency with the new greece. Great video Brian!!
Appreciate the education as well as the honesty about the findings regarding noise. Definitely sounded/looked smoother. I have some winter project work to do on all my polishers! Take care and hope you all have a Merry Christmas
A very good demonstration tutorial. I often wonder how much grease to put back in. Its just too bad the manufacturers use cheap grease with exception to Griots.
A well greased machine makes a world of difference.. especially when you are using it all day 3 feet from your ears.. screaming at 75-85 db😬.. I have been thinking about getting some low noise ceramic bearings for my green Maxshine..every little bit helps..
Rainy Day Equipment Maintenance. I have a TV in the Garage so a Cup of Coffee and Top Gear on. Gotta' be careful ! A lot of the time soft China Screws and a worn Phillips Screwdriver Tip is a bad mix.
Use brake clean. Get all the old grease out unless you are 100 PERCENT sure that the existing and new grease are compatible. Incompatible greases mixed in a gear case can destroy your expensive machinery. There are easy ways to find out what base your grease uses and then look up a compatibility chart online.
@@Mountain-Man-3000 In all my years of doing this I have never had a problem. Removing the majority of the grease is good enough. I understand what you are saying but there is no way to know what grease is in it from the Chinese factory.
Well done. When polishing it is quieter in our testing, when free spinning the difference isn’t as good.
This makes sense. Another test Brian??
@@diydetailofficial Thanks! That would make sense because I swore it made it quieter before.
Definitely going to repack them all now after seeing how little grease was in there from the factory. Glad to see you're well, Brian!
Thanks Brian. I've been wanting to do this for some time and now I'm ready.

I use the Amsoil Synthetic Multi Purpose Grease too
@@1stfrompuertorico568 It’s great grease!
Nice stuff always
@@1stfrompuertorico568 Thank you!
Super helpful video. Wondering if changing the Greece in the Griots G15 polisher is similar to? Thanks !!!

@@gmans7859 Yes it is a bad combination but those Snap On screwdrivers aren’t worn out at all.

Yeah that's why I suggest using brake clean and removing it all or damn near all of it. Brake clean is the magic sauce of machine cleaning!
First!!!!
