Once they get you to sign up, you’re stuck. You can either try to make it work, or eat the loss. This then leads them into the sunken cost fallacy where they feel compelled to invest even more money to try to make it work.
Not only the cash they lose to the MLM. The neighbour who used to watch your kids in an squeeze, the friend from the mother's group who could pick up the kids when you had to do overtime, the kindly neighbour who watched your home on holiday. Now, trying to peddle your MLM, you've antagonized them when they didn't want to buy or join you. Others in the neighbourhood are just hiding and/or avoiding you. The cafe you loved has banned you for trying to recruit strangers so you now have to drive 5 miles to get your coffee. Your kids are not being invited to a birthday parties due to you desperately pushing the BS. So add to the MLM loss, all the childcare and allied help that was once extended free to you. How many salespeople in each territory? How does the business model support each salesperson's success, prevent monopolizing its own sales? But for the record- the business model does work as in it does what it's supposed to, make the top executives rich. It's not meant to allow everyone in the model to make money. But MLM huns sell it as if it is and THAT is the problem.

I love the you have to be coachable and want to learn....every sing training is the same in every single mlm. It's different types of busy work to get sales and recruits lol. Post on social media, cold message people, talk to random strangers, friend request your friends friends, pay for booths at craft fairs and fundraisers, blah blah blah, there's your training 😂 i just saved every mlm hun tons of hours in trainings
Thing is, many of these huns are perfectly investable and employable... they'd make a lot more money (and for less effort) if they just took a legit job, or even 'sold soap at the farmers market'.
If Arbonne is sooo great, why does this woman spend so much time on criticizing "haters"? I'm satisfied with my job at university. Is someone claimed that my job is a waste of time and I lose an opportunity for a great business, I would just say "well, I like it" and move on.
I knew the first one was Monat. Coming from a former market partner. When you tell them you’re not making money and it’s not working, they gaslight you it’s insane. The product wasn’t bad and I still use some things but the whole system BAD BAD BAD! Thanks for bringing awareness. I was spending money and making none. In the end lost up to $1K but I learned from it
The mlms are high risk lol not no risk. Most people to ever be in an mlm have lost out on a lot of money and time. You spend so much time and money trying to get "your business " off the ground only to find out it's impossible to make a living wage based upon your own work, realizing how much money you would have made during that time with just a minimum wage job! Sorry for my runon sentences 😂😅 but seriously
This one guy we knew in an MLM always put up the image of success the past 20 years. Last year he posted video of him driving a Ferrari California. Turns out, it was a rental 😂
At the risk of sounding patronizing and grandmotherly 😊, I’d like to compliment you on your intellectual And emotional intelligence! A lot of 24 year olds do not display this kind of common sense. Your content is really interesting and informative. As a recovering MLMer from a thousand years ago, I’ve been watching a lot of anti mlm content. You are one of my favourites!!
A classmate of mine my freshman year of college invited me and my friend to join their MLM (I can’t remember if it was arbon but the name sounded similar). When I looked into it, the requirements were connecting with a local coach and buying a $230+ starting kit. Since I was a college student, I didn’t have that kind of money. Also, I didn’t have a lot of free time so I didn’t want to dedicate my free time to meeting a coach or “running a business.”
I had a chance to join Tyra Beauty when it launched, be at the top of the downline. I don't look back and regret not doing it. I had the chance to join Arbonne, I don't look back and regret not doing it. I had the chance to join Young Living, I don't look back and regret not doing it. I had the chance to join Monat, and boy of fudging boy as a legal editor do I NOT regret not joining that. But, what I DO REGRET is not being able to help my family and friends leave before losing money.
I remember when i was also caught in an MLM organisation (BTW I wasn’t aware of what it was, how it functions etc.) and honestly.. from my experience they ( your LEADER who recruited you) will make you feel the most amazing person, they will bombard you with positivity and hype you up and tell you how you can earn ALOT of money and basically just get you excited to build a team and your “company”. I was extremely blinded, in reality I was NOT earning enough and yes I love a good grand of my savings from doing this job (I was in it for 5 months). When I started to become “negative” my leading literally isolated me from my team and told them to stay away from me because I am getting in the way of their “progress and dreams”. In reality, I was seeing EVERYTHING in a bigger picture, that everyone there was fucking brainwashed and after doing my research on MLM’s I realise that this was all a SCAM. Honestly. I hope people don’t get trap into this
has anyone else seen ads on tik tok of random ppl showing clothes w a link to a website that only shows one piece of clothing for like under $20?? when i view the profile it’s not even the person in the ad and once i saw the og vid who had nothing to do w the brand. and whenever i click the website from these ads it’s all the same format but with other the singular piece of clothing from the ad😭
Funny how none of these mlm huns have their "own business" but never explain how the company req u to use a 1099 form for taxes, but doesnt offer paid time off, paid sick, health/life benefits. Also, what kinda ins & licensing does ur business carry? Never hear that. Its a scam, and will ALWAYS be a scam. When will people get that?
How do these people sleep at night. I’m a disabled 43 year old widow with no kids and go nowhere and barely talk to anyone and I have anxiety when trying to sleep 😂😂😂
The first lady didnt even have any real points. "We're literally on a floating rock..." Like okay? What does that have to do with your scam business??? She sounds like a highschool gym coach trying to give their class an inspirational sports speech," youll miss more opportunities you if dont take them. Youll miss 100% of the shots you dont take." On top of that, being "coachable" just means being niave and easy to maipluate.
I did sell Mary Kay and Avon when i was younger. The older ladies had me sold out the Skin So Soft. But the market is definitely not made for you to win
One thing I don’t see talked about in regard to recruiting these young women is… when I was young and tried these I didn’t know I needed to pay taxes on income from this, or even how to. Luckily I hardly sold anything. Not enough to have to pay taxes on it. But like when I was 19-20 and in Avon and arbonne I had no idea and no one would’ve told me. Like if I had sold stuff I would have been in trouble at tax time.
There is another thing you should include in your videos … these ads that pop up and say you should switch to digital media and get trained … I’ve seen these videos and then I honestly do reach out to them and ask them how to begin. They end up giving me all these courses and starter kits to purchase to begin with or I guess get trained.. I do believe digital media is a great strategy that can lead to passive money however there are many people advertising it to people who are desperate in money convince them take these courses .. and end up not understanding or benefiting from it .. please correct me if I am wrong folks but I do believe we need to spread the awareness more since it’s been increasing widely.
14:50 she's just going in circles and saying NOTHING. These people all seem to talk like this, it's like they don't even know what they're saying, they just know what to say. Likely because they were told. But they believe in what they say. So culty. And 15:28 LOL. First thing I thought of.
Lmao in my early 20s (35yo now), I got sucked into wayyyyyy too many mlms than I even want to admit. 😂 younique, pure romance, medifast, advocare, it works, one of the essential oil companies, perfectly posh, scentsy, lularoe, a skincare line I don’t remember. lol as a young, broke 22 year old, I spent a couple thousand on those things that I thought i could make tons of money on. Needless to say, I lost all that money, didn’t even make my startup costs back, and finally learned my lesson and focused on my now career that is so much more fulfilling and doesn’t cost me money to make money. 😂 i lived and i learned. Glad the crowd has you to inform them these days. Haha wish I did back then. lol
That whole spiel Kristen gave only proves that she has no idea what she’s talking about. Pretty much any person who has left an MLM will have the same story. They did everything their uplines told them, and worked this business like a dog, and still got nowhere. Also most “MLM haters” were either in or have some connection to the MLM industry.
"We are literally on a floating rock..if you know, you know" - she really think she ate. Sweetheart, sugar muffin, darling....what does existentialist, absurdist philosophy have to do with your pyramid scam?😂 "We're on a floating rock, so create your own meaning for life" or "We're on a floating rock, so nothing matters" - See? Neither of those lead me to give you my money and work with you to scam more people...
If their profits come from recruiting but they claim it's because of a product/service, then it's not MLM but a pyramid scheme instead. Those people who claim MLM and even videos like this confuse people who think it's the same thing when it's not. MLM in general is not a scam. People nowadays are for sure getting ahead of themselves and selling people anything and calling it a high-value course or e-book. But proper MLM exists so people don't have to do as much work in getting started/making money, compared to starting from scratch; and no it's not for everyone. If you can start a business model on your own or do the same thing, then congratulations, you're smart enough to at least do it on your own for free. But there are people who don't care if they spend their money on a short cut to speed along the process. It's fair game, and it doesn't have to be dishonest. A good MLM will actually have value and sell because of that, it just depends on the honesty, what you're selling and how you're selling it. Of course it doesn't sound appealing to tell people "Hey, I make money reselling products & courses and you should sell mine too!" and that's why they lie and twist things, but really that's where honesty and truth should really come in.
@@getout9728No, it’s not.. Look up the actual definition of MLM and what a Pyramid scheme is. MLM is making money off of products and it’s generally a short cut. It’s only a pyramid scheme when the front is making money off of products when really it’s off of recruitment. Do your research.
YIKES to the blonde woman. I don’t think she gets it. 😂 I usually feel bad for people like her (because she was clearly brainwashed) but it’s hard to feel bad because she’s actively praying on vulnerable people. 😢
No risk in Monat? Ask the people who have sores on their scalp and no hair anymore. But I guess it is THEIR fault for not using the overprized shampoo right. Right. Because that is always what happens when I don't read the instructions and use my shampoo the way I have always done it. Hair loss is part of washing ones hair, I guess.
The list of corporate jobs that are MLM structure is so ridiculous. I'm in commercial solar, normal corporate structure, make an outstanding salary, work from home, actually FREE work trips... Yes, there is a bonus and comp structure, but I don't have to spend a single cent to make money. And any and all travel or additional education or conferences I attend for my job, is paid for. That whole clip was so backwards. 🤦🏽♀️
I have a question, taxes were brought up in this video. I know when people own actual businesses, they can claim everything they bought for their business and get that money back. I was just wondering if people in an MLM could try to claim that as well? I feel like it’s a dumb question because it’s not an actual business
I'm not a tax consultant so take my comment with a huge grain of salt. From what I hear, it definitely is treated like a business from the IRS. So 'business' purchases can be tax write offs. One thing I'm thinking of is if you're buying a dinner for your business group while at a function. That is probably a tax write off. Stuff that isn't though is buying products from the company every month, buying the educational 'tools', and the conference fees themselves. On top of that, I don't think the IRS looks kindly at your tax write offs if your business is not making a profit. Again though, not a tax consultant, so take my words with a bag of salt. Even though mlm's are extremely sh---y, I'm pretty sure the IRS recognizes them as actual businesses, especially a successful one.
Better off getting a bike and doing uber/doir dash etc all jokes aside. No investment, no gas. Better then the mlm bs. Alot if us do it partime in the city to make afew bucks, its just not our main income.
I can’t hear Mrs Kristen over her ORANGE. She IN NO WAY seems credible so I feel really bad for anyone believing her. She is not okay. Also, I don’t think exp is an MLM. I’m in real estate (accountant for large brokerage) so the exp I know of is another brokerage. I’m not a realtor so I may be ill informed…. But something like a real estate broker you pay membership dues toward is not, in my opinion, an MLM. There’s an actual service being provided. I could be wrong, but I kinda doubt it here. He seems to be reaching.

I love how one of the pitches to get people to join MLMs is that you can make your own hours but you literally need to put in all of your hours if you want to make any money
Bro looks more cel shaded than a borderlands character.
Girl, your solar eclipse birdbox intro-spiel 😭 i laughed for a minute straight, cause same 😭😭😭
Not me wondering today why yt either stopped recommending me Isabella videos or why she hasn't been posting only to find out yt unsubscribed me 🙄thanks yt thats definitely what I wanted
My fave pastime is reporting mlm videos on TikTok and I love that they get removed 😂
In the end lost up to $1K but I learned from it
Why are bros with podcast mics the absolute worst? 😂
which is better, podcast son or mlm daughter? lol
every time she says undersTEAAAAND🙄 take a shot
Thanks for your input and vids. Love ur channel! ❤
The numbers on those charts are terrible. And that's even IF you succeed after an 80 hour week.
Let me just call people names instead of considering for a second that the people sharing criticism might have a valid point.
I can not take the cadence of the words that are coming out of their mouths. I’ll only be this age once 🤯. Mind. Blown.
This one guy we knew in an MLM always put up the image of success the past 20 years. Last year he posted video of him driving a Ferrari California. Turns out, it was a rental 😂
8:09 how she blames people who struggle to sell it… wow.
I’ve taken many calculated risks.. but boy am I bad at math 😅
Been binge watching you and CC, and now I’m getting scammy ads on UA-cam. The algorithm may be a little confused. 😅
But, what I DO REGRET is not being able to help my family and friends leave before losing money.
what does un-coachable mean???? that you're skeptical???
Not easy to manipulate
I love your voice. Im glad your doing this.
I leaned a new word! “Surfacy” 😂
I’m amazed they manage to make any content or do any work - how long does it take these people to get ready every day? 😂
The first lady didnt even have any real points. "We're literally on a floating rock..." Like okay? What does that have to do with your scam business??? She sounds like a highschool gym coach trying to give their class an inspirational sports speech," youll miss more opportunities you if dont take them. Youll miss 100% of the shots you dont take."
On top of that, being "coachable" just means being niave and easy to maipluate.
I did sell Mary Kay and Avon when i was younger. The older ladies had me sold out the Skin So Soft. But the market is definitely not made for you to win
That first video...I could say that about crime...like sure, best case you win...buuut most people don't and it can seriously mess up your life.
Never risk more than you’re willing to lose
Why does that dude's hair look like squid ink pasta?
14:50 she's just going in circles and saying NOTHING. These people all seem to talk like this, it's like they don't even know what they're saying, they just know what to say. Likely because they were told. But they believe in what they say. So culty. And 15:28 LOL. First thing I thought of.
Why Is she Orange
Haha wish I did back then. lol
It blows my mind that people today can be so gullible.
That whole spiel Kristen gave only proves that she has no idea what she’s talking about. Pretty much any person who has left an MLM will have the same story. They did everything their uplines told them, and worked this business like a dog, and still got nowhere. Also most “MLM haters” were either in or have some connection to the MLM industry.
these "leaders" are saying a whole lot of nothing... LMAOO
I don’t think I’d take any advice from someone who has the skin tone of an orange 😂 and also her arms don’t even match her chest and face lol
Happy belated birthday!!!
Hey! It’s called a biggie bag! From Wendy’s lol
MLM's are literal pyramid schemes, but they changed a few things so that they wouldn't be counted as it. So yeah, it is.
4th type of person: Painted Plastic 7:48
At this rate, mlm people should be those mall kiosk people or get a sales job.
We're on a floating rock if ykyk lol
Not really relevant but : that's a nice Botanical print you have on your wall !
Any idea of date and origin..?? ( I'm a collector ) . Thanks..!
Arbonne Tan Mom’s JoJonytail is giving me a migraine.
Looking like those orange circus peanut candies 😅
Would you buy skincare from someone who doesn't use a sunscreen
I love these videos u do I would love to see you and Kiki Chanel do a collab together on these mlms you to would be great entertainment ☺️
5 years in Arbonne and couldn't find a shade match 😅😬
Is that an Oompa Loompa?
I want to see a video on color street
Ok but does anyone wonder why that arbonne lady is orange?
those two guys definitely have a poor understanding of what a mlm is 😅
Hi isabella! Idk if you'll see this but i figured this is a good one to comment on....a girl i know is posting very basic MLM posts, its something called "the free life movement" lol can you do a deep dive on this one?!
Im just so confused as to why these girls don’t go work a legit sales job. You make way more $$, still have flexibility, and it’s a legit job usually with benefits and all 🤣 and you don’t have to embarrass yourself in the process
