    I have Tourette's, so that video with the mom giving random shit to her toddler to "get rid of her tics" is so disheartening. The way some parents would rather give risky, untested shit to their kids than rather just accept them is crazy. And the thing is with kids that young, sometimes it is just transient tics that do end up just going away on their own, but even if it's not and the child just has Tourette's or a chronic tic disorder, tics wane and wax, and that includes the intensity and how often they happen. And she doesn't know if the kid is actually ticcing less or if she is just noticing them less. Not all tics are very obvious to an outside observer. Also it could be something that's not even a tic to start with and she's just mistaking it for a tic. But to anyone out there with a kid who tics, having a child who tics is not worse than accidentally poisoning them trying to "cure" them and ending up with no kid at all. Love and accept your kids.

    • @galacticjester6668
      @galacticjester6668 4 місяці тому

      And so many of these natural healing parents will give random herbs and supplements to their kids and claim that their tics are gone when really it's just that their tics were in calm period or that the parent is tricking themselves into not seeing the tics anymore, like a placebo. And when the tics have another highly active period, the parents will jump onto the next thing they saw on an online forum and the cycle will happen all over again. You don't have to be "desperate" to have a "normal" kid who doesn't tic. Having tics can cause specific problems, but parents should just help their kid deal with those problems instead of waiting and playing Frankenstein to try to "get their kid back".

      Ugh, this is insanity. We were struggling to get custody of my niece years ago, whose mother wouldn't get her any therapy and the stress was making the child respond with tics. Forgive my terminology if I'm not saying it correctly. It's almost 11pm and I'm braindead. She hated her tics and, as a 5 year old, constantly shaking or flicking her hands and drawing attention to herself in public was making her even more upset. Working with her, we created a little jingle bell bracelet. When she heard it jingle, she would recognize what she was doing, calm down, and either refocus on something she was happier with expressing, like a fidget toy, or let us know, if we hadn't already heard it, that she needed a calmer space. The main difference for us is that she was involved. After she began opening up more, we learned her triggers and how she needed to express herself. Now, 10 years later, she's able to recognize her signs of stress and respond to it, which will help her as an adult. We talk often and she knows she can tell me anything with as little judgement as humanly possible. She keeps me accountable in admitting my mistakes and faults, as much as I help her deal with stress. Key thing is to involve them, not "fix" them.

    • @galacticjester6668
      @galacticjester6668 4 місяці тому +8

      @@araneljones Yeah, being calm calms down tics, to different degrees for different people of course. I'm glad you listened to what your niece wanted and helped her have coping strategies. People with Tourette's do end up with agoraphobia more than your average person, because it's not really easy to exist in public as a person who tics. But not all of us like to, or even can, suppress tics in public or for long periods of time.

The amount of these people that claim to be able to cure it like their is something wrong with it pisses me off, yes there are negative parts to it like every other human experience but they make it seem like something is broken and it needs fixing and that both upsets me and angers me. My son is perfect how he is, and yes he has major food aversion to a lot of things, doesn't sleep well, but its just a matter of it taking a little longer and finding a routine that fits and foods he's comfortable with, a spray isn't going to do anything and when you are struggling with something like this as you grow up and someone tries to give you a fix you may try and take it, but at the same time its people constantly telling you that something is wrong that needs fixing and that just out of order. The detox video with the child pisses me off so much. Kids change constantly. "Eats food it never touched before; sleeps through the night; tics are gone" those are as far as I know all normal things kids go through, the older you get the more food you'll find acceptable to eat, the more regular your sleep schedule gets and tics are also things kids can grow out of or develop later on. There's a lot that goes into a child's development (socializing, environment, health, etc) and a few drops of questionable substances won't be the reason for these huge changes. And also that they're preying on new mothers who want the best for their kids is disgusting most of all

    "My child's behavior and abilities changed after a month on this stuff!"
    It's entirely because your child is a month older. Children learn and change at a much faster speed than adults. Like MAYBE your woo pill helped balance out some minor vitamin/mineral deficiency but more than likely, it's either the parent perceiving a change that didn't actually happen, or the kid just... grew up a little
    Also: Remove flouride from wherever flouride goes... first, I find it hard to trust anyone who is scared of something when they don't even know what it does or where it goes, and second, YOU MEAN YOUR TEETH?

    I hate when people try to use children as an example for progress on products. Children grow and change rapidly from month to month. A tic they had in January may be gone by February, a food they hated Monday might be their favorite on Saturday. Kids are not your personal experiment.

I'm tired of all this garbage and fear mongering that autism is bad and autistic children are less than so let's poison them with essential oils, unknown vitamins for some country where no scientific evidence shows if its even safe. I get scared giving my kids cough mixture when they get the flu, so watching videos where kids are fed goodness knows what for "fear" of autism or ADHD is so very scary. So these parents are essentially not letting their children be children? A child is taking in so much information at all hours of the day, I’d be concerned if he or she wasn’t hard to stay focused. They’re learning about the world, motor skills, nonverbal communication, values, so much! It seems like they want to take away the play factor and discovery time that’s so important for kids. Stolen Focus has such a good bit about the effects of regulating and reducing play. Attention issues shouldn’t need tinctures and a doctor should be consulted over a tiktok person. Truly disheartening. I can’t believe these people can keep their platform because some of this is not only not useful, but can be downright dangerous. Kids rely on us to make the best decisions and those certainly don’t come from social media. Also, any tummy issue that can’t be resolved with a $5/box smooth move tea should be taken to a medical professional. It’s strong enough to handle a lot of transient tummy issues. Why are we outsourcing medicine to people selling crap!

    to make something more hydrogen dense you would actually have to add something to the solution which donates H+, hydrogen ions. this would make it more acidic as well on the pH scale, if you add enough. the device doesn't claim to add any substance, tho, leading the consumer to believe the hydrogen is what.... H2 hydrogen gas??? So then, a device that creates endless hydrogen gas bubbles on demand? Surely not. suuuch a scam.

    If that’s the case, couldn’t that potentially lead to heavy metal poisoning because any metal you might eat (or even maybe the iron in your blood? Not sure) would get into your body and blood stream instead of filtered out due to the attraction of the negatively charged ions to the positively charged hydrogen? I am a soil scientist and understand soil chemistry and acidic water please a body scientist help me out.

    A lot of people are saying autism and I agree. It's also the simple fact that kids learn things as they grow and experience the world. I've had sensitivity to food textures all my life. Growing up, I couldn't even put beef or fish in my mouth without physically gagging and breaking down into tears. My parents didn't force me and allowed me to try things at my own pace. Now I love fish and enjoy beef. My mom also said I started walking way later than usual and had me checked out by a LICENSED PROFESSIONAL and they assured my mom I was fine, just a late starter. Just cus your kid didn't come out of the womb with the palate and abilities of a full-fledged adult doesn't automatically mean there's something wrong and you have to fix it. Can't imagine my mom hosing me down with 'metal cleanser' or whatever cus 6 week old me wasn't outrunning Usain Bolt.
    P.S in case someone brings this up, yes I was tested for autism and I do not have it.
