The one thing I've been wanting to hear a Dev say at any point over the last year. I've stuck with the game, but left it here and there. I'm glad to see where it's going from here.
Drew Townsend amen, one can only move forward in life after admitting all the mistakes one made.
But the problem is that is exactly what happened in Destiny 1. Bungie has had second and third chances with this franchise, I don't understand why they keep getting more. When Destiny 3 drops will people have to complain for a year again, for a third time, so that they can fix it after releasing a sub-par vanilla game and two DLCs?
Nope. I'm gonna wait to buy D3 and if it has the same issues, they won't get my money.
Fair enough, I'm out after D2 vanilla. I still watch these damn things because I like to world (even though their actual in-game world-building has been shit) and the gameplay so much. But they aren't getting another dime from me at this point, it's frustrating, to be honest. I don't want to dislike the game.
I'm hoping BioWare can execute well on Anthem and help me move on.

I’m excited but not too excited for this, hopefully it will be a callback to the Rise of Iron D1 days, but only true Guardians will realize that no matter how good Forsaken is, whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

something that you can do that would be interesting and probably beneficial to everybody:
Bring in an appearance changer into the game itself.
Ever since I started Destiny 2 with my new character, I've wanted to have my hair style changed, the colors changed around, even to change my race (Exos for the win). But, the fact that I have to stick to this character the whole time because I was naive enough to think it was okay is depressing. If I want to embody a character, I want them to look right.
So, I propose you bring in a "barber" of sorts into Destiny 2. You have a huge open area in the Tower that can accommodate something like this. And even better, you can bring back Eva Levante, someone that I know you've referenced here and there and that I'm sure many people would like to see come back.

forsaken launch gave every new class 6 exotics, tons of exotic weapons, a well written story, two new destinations with unique activities, a brand new raid etc.
shadowkeep gave us mediocre content at best

Taken King was by far the best thing Bungie has ever done with Destiny and I’m hoping that they can find the right mix between creating it for casuals and competitive gamers as they did in Taken King. Destiny 2 had too much emphasis on playing casual and while that’s nice, there isn’t really anything to grind for. Solstice of Heros had the perfect level of grind to it. Not ridiculously hard, but hard enough that it takes a couple of days to grind out. Hopefully Bungie learns from its mistakes and fixes what used to be an astounding game.
V8 Crafted They're doing the exact same formula they did for D1.
Base Game: Piss-poor story, little-to-none end game content.
Expansions 1 and 2: Just more weapons and armor, and a raid. Still piss poor and still not a lot to do in the end game.
Big Expansion 3: Apparently fixes fucking everything and the game is now God-tier.
They've obviously realized the formula, and figured out a way to disappoint fans at launch, make them think the game will be fixed with the first two expansions (but really nothing changes), and finally fix everything that should've been fixed at launch with Big Expansion 3. Why? To make us pay more MONEY, of course! That is all Bungie wants from us at this point. Don't be surprised if they pull this shit formula again for D3.

LMGs never have, nor likely ever will be in Destiny.
That is a heavy machine gun. Light machine guns fire rifle rounds. Medium machine guns fire rifle rounds at a higher rof with a longer barrel and are typically belt fed.
Heavy machine guns fire above rifle round size, typically .50 cal.
Look at the bullets on this one or any HMG from D1 and see that they are NOT rifle rounds.
Bungie post says they come s5. So around december.

- Titles look pretty cool. Sort of like the feeling of seeing someone with Chatterwhite.
- The Annual Pass is really intriguing. It seems like it can stray away from traditional storytelling to give us more unique experiences. An entire "dlc" based around mystery? That sounds dope as fuck. And the Leviathan! More Calus lore and story! Joker's Wild and Black Armory got my attention as well.
This all seems really well done. Put this on top of Forsaken's insane amount of changes and improvements, and I honestly believe them when they say this is Destiny at its best. We can never be sure and we'll have to be cautious, but this looks good!
I still remember seeing someone with Chatterwhite for the first time, and finding out what it was and how you got it. Those two months or so right after launch (before I finally got it myself) were like seeing unicorns randomly, lol. It was pretty awesome, and I really wish they would bring back something epic and unique like that, again.
+Brian Hope Yeah! Back when raids were this mysterious, hardcore thing that only the very best completed. Granted, it was only like that for a month or two, but damn was it exciting. Seeing someone with Chatterwhite or VoG armor just let you know they were a badass. Hopefully titles will bring that feeling back.
I also wish Xur would stay relevant. Remember when exotics were exciting? When Xur *felt* like blackmarket vendor? It was fun for those first few months when Xur sold something completely new that you'd never seen before and you had to scrounge up just enough strange coins to buy it!

+Dekoof They said no such thing. Don't spread misinformation. We as a community heralded D2 as having no content droughts because they had a roadmap, something Y2 and Y3 didn't. But Bungie said nothing of the sort.
Look at the facts. They'll be releasing 3 content drops over the course of a year, two of which will have a raid lair. These content packs will be focused on the endgame rather than campaigns. They will introduce a score of new gear including exotics. We will also be getting an event during each of these releases. This event will come with its own gear and cosmetics. Add in the random rolls we're getting in Forsaken and it'll be *almost impossible* for a content drought. Seriously. I'm not sure if even Bungie could fuck it up.
Now, we can't be certain about all this. You're right, people should remain cautious. But so far the odds are stacked in our favor, it would seem.

When, in D1 or the first year of D2..... Im sure they're listening to their bank accounts
When they took away random rolls, they were listening. When they took away 6v6, they were listening. When they took away subclass skill trees, they were being smart. They have to listen to both their wallets, and the fans. They made base D2 with a lot of inbetween content, trying to please too many players at once. It failed miseribly, but they still listened.
Play the game first before you thank anyone in bungie. We see in a month how good this dlc is

LionVictorious considering D1 was loads more fun than D2, I’m perfectly content with D2 turning into D1. Had bungie not fucked up the golden goose to begin with, they could have been looking to the future instead of back tracking. Ah well, at least we’re back at sea level now and no longer drowning.
Rooting for you guys. Long time player. But it does get exhausting hearing how you learned from your mistakes and intend to fix the game. Long term I hope Destiny 3 doesn't start the cycle all over agian.

If, IF all of this pans out, and you deliver what you say, if you learned from your mistakes and make this as epic as you claim... then I will be most pleased. If not, I feel this could be the end. You're letting a lot ride on this expansion and are hyping it to an extreme. If it fails, i dont know how you all will come back from it.
That being said, this looks amazing and I'm excited for Black Armoury. If this is as amazing as I hope, I'll then start asking for the little things again.

The models for the last word and hawkmoon are already in the game, if you look at golden gun when u pop it, its the last word or hawkmoon depending on what skill tree you chose....
@@tera3833 reading the exotic perk description for the Ace of Spades it gives 'x' amount of bullets in the gun on the next reload as high powered explosive shots, if you land and kill a target with precision damage. Sort of like kill clip. But the shots will be held in the cartridge.
If anything they should get out of Activisions contract and make destiny what it was meant to be. Or bring back thorn

I’m still skeptical. Bungie can make a dlc look amazing as when it is released, it is actually very disappointing. I love D1 and wish D2 could’ve been better at launch. I really don’t want to pay for content that we should’ve gotten in the first place. Nowadays, bungie and activision are just after your money at the end of the day and don’t care about the players and what we want. I won’t be purchasing this dlc until it is reviewed by a trusted player like datto

A lot of good stuff here. Wanting to prevent content droughts, back track to what make Taken King the first game's saving grace. Now it's vital that they just continue this trend instead of taking away things.

Still waiting for all that playable terrain as far as the eye can see. Funny how people hold Sean Murray accountable for his lies in an interview that he specifically said he didn't want to do, because his aspirations were very high, but when Bungie promises multiple planets with bethesda sized maps, lore on par with star wars and halo, and interactions as diverse as final Fantasy, everyone just FORGETS... that WAS destiny 1 while the hype train was being fueled.

They don't deserve praise for finally getting it right when they should have had it right the first time after D1 dropped. It's like people love to get screwed. I'm going back to MHWorld a game and company that actually appreciates their customers. I'd gladly put $40 on any dlc they put out. Why? Because they've shown in the past countless times they deserve it. They have a good track record, unlike Bungie.

One thing ive given bungie respect for through the years since destiny 1 launched is as where most devs would get super discouraged about hearing mostly negative feedback bungie seems to embrace it alot of the time and keep trucking along and make it what it needs to be, with that being said i hope we don't repeat this a 3rd time. Just wanted to say thanks in advance for the hard work you guys have put in and i hope you guys are looking at games like warframe for how to do content drops it doesnt all have to come at once in 3-6 month intervals if people are bored release some stuff thats ready if you can and keep content trickling no matter how much yall give us were gonna chew through it anyways. I feel like bungie does their best when they have their backs against the wall heres hoping to destiny making me feel a certain way again besides some resentment.

Damn I’m looking back at how much we’ve progressed, and I’ve been with Destiny for 5 years and it makes me sort of emotional thinking we went from having trouble killing campaign bosses to soloing raids, I’d like all year one players to think back and remember and just remember about how much we’ve progressed

I haven't been able to play Destiny for almost a week now, but I've been able to download the update and I'll finally be able to preorder the expansion soon. My brother and I are gonna be drilling this thing HARD!
It looks pretty cool and fun, but as someone who has bought every piece of Destiny content one by one from vanilla D1 through vanilla D2, I’ve been refraining from buying these three recent DLC’s. They’re going by the same exact pattern as they did for D1, and some people might not think of that as a bad thing, but seeing other good full games with a 60$ price tag makes me really question spending 200+ on a game for bursts of fun each DLC release. I personally think that Destiny has amazingly cool lore and the base story is one of the most fascinating stories I’ve ever seen in entertainment in general, so unfortunately I’m just one of those people who’s stuck thinking how it could be so much better. I just watched the original e3 demo of D1 the other day and I reminisced about how excited I was about this game at the time, seeing a story I really liked, made by a company I respected, that was nice and fresh. But now I just see these packs of content rolling off the conveyor belt at around the same time every year, each including a small chunk of story loosely connected to the previous chunk, a couple pieces of armor to grind for, and a hefty price tag. I wish they would just, I dunno, surprise me with D3 I guess, and just give us some fresh content that doesn’t have a bunch of prescheduled DLC’s. The best games are the one’s that beat your expectations, and Destiny seems to be, at most, only meeting them for me (which at this point my expectations aren’t very high).

Dan Cola well written. I work in the gaming industry and got a collection key yesterday for forsaken (including dlcs before). I told myself not to spend any money on D2, after I bought and played the whole Destiny 1 and liked it (not loved it). As you said, my expectations were met, not surpassed, and the whole game doesnt deserve to be paid more than 60-70 bucks for. Not wanna say its bad, nor want to piss fans off, but marketing does an excellent job here and I wouldnt play D2 if I had to pay for it. Good for those who fell in love with the game, but I wish those fans would´ve got more for their hard earned money.

I’m not saying it would just be a SCAR, but, a modified scar to compare / a gun built to look like it, but be golden (and post golden) age.

I was waiting for a major expansion on this and immediately made plans to finally purchase Destiny 2 and Forsaken.
Upon learning that I had to own *both initial expansions* ive decided to wait until it comes on discount a few years from now
