- UPDATE! The battery realistically lasts about 1.5 hours on full speed with the 35 ah battery. It lasts 3 hours on half power.
Welcome to my channel, I love motorcycles, boats, guns, and freedom. I live in South Florida and trying to make the best of it with what little I have.
Did you make a video on how to install everything? I have the same kayak and wanted to install one of those motors in it!! super cool
Hey man. Great video. I have a vibe yellowfin 100 (10ft) Looking to add exactly what you have on your Vibe. What would you recommend for a mount? Is there any easy way to just set up and go with trolling motors and kayaks?
Thanks for the vid, I just got the same motor can you please send a link on where I can get the rear mount
Good video. I'm getting the same kayak going to do the same thing as you. Do I need to buy the yak gadget in order for me to use the motor? Also is it easy to take motor off the kayak for transporting?
Yes you need the yak gadget transom to use the motor unless you create a different setup. The motor goes on and off very simply with the 2 clamp screws.
How you feel about the 36 3y later
Love the extension, i bent my extention to make it easier to use so i didn't have to turn so much (broken back and neck.........doh!!) enjoy!
bullyakker Smart idea, Thanks!
nice setup. could you link the transom mount?

Just fyi theres a "v-lock mounting bracket" which I really like, if you weren't already aware.
@@zachwilson9824 what's that?
@@josephmcguiness6452 it's a quick disconnect so you can pop your motor on and off with a simple lynch pin it's super easy and so many uses
@@zachwilson9824 cool. Thank you
Nice video men
Perez Fishing Club Thanks
Is their a built in battery so I don’t have to have any wires out or do I have to have a battery separate from the actual motor
Where can i buy the trolling motor and battery
Dawrongguy Amazon
What mount did you use?
infralap Yakgadget
What motor mount is that
Yoyo Segev YakGadget
What's your top speed?
It was around 4.5 mph
Im not sure where you are getting full throttle lasting 2.5 hours. 35AH / 29 Amps at full throttle gives you a little over an hour of full throttle run time.

Not being rude, just researching myself and trying to find the right setup myself. Misleading information could bone some poor person watching videos and not researching themselves. Thanks for the video and have a nice day!
Sounds about right! i've got a 115 Ah battery and a 46# thrust trolling motor pulling up to 42A at max.. COULD get about 3 hours at full speed but i won't let the battery go below 50%. Get it up to speed then cruise in "3rd"
You are right, That’s what Newport vessels told me over the phone but I realized it last about an hour and a half full power. I ordered another 35ah battery to store in the front of the kayak for longer trips.
@@weekendventures11 Nice video, Thanks for info. I have a 8 foot Sundolphin boat with a 30 lb trolling motor. Do you think my 65Ah battery would be ok for the Newport 55 lb?
@@weekendventures11 I wished i grabbed 2- smaller batteries as the 'yak i particularly use the trolling motor on is a kayak-catamaran-canoe (WaveWalk). 2 smaller batteries would be easier to position and off set the motor's 30# weight and save my broken back some as well but.... i'm enjoying this 115MAh 29 series til it dies. maybe by hen i can afford lithiums though they're not 'recommended" by Newport vessels. possibly due to safety reasons with lithium batteries.. i dunno
When i put the battery (65#) into my tarpon 120, hell, i can cruise all day and night and the next day as well. it's overkill for a yak!
@@walterm9124 55? meh,,,, the 55 draws a lot of power at max.............. it'll work but you'll likely never need to go past speed 3 to go up medium currents in that little yak.
If you already have the battery, enjoy and try and keep it above 50%. that motor is WAY overkill for an 8' so at max power should run you straight up cat 3 rapids without issues til you hit a rock. lol the higher the thrust, the more torque it has, you will NOT go any faster unless in a fair to big current and the 46# is plenty for my wavewalk with 2 people, 2 chairs, cooler, snacks, livewell etc.
