This is by far the most intelligent and affordable setup I've seen on youtube. This is super helpful for me as I try to build my own kayak trolling motor mount and set it all up. Thanks so much bro!!!
On the seat issue maybe some PVC pipe couplers over the round tube to keep the seat for sliding or drill one hole and drop a pin in it , good luck and keep a tight line!

Good vid. You have me a lot of ideas for upgrades. Especially the motor mount. I'm thinking of doing the same and mount my motor on the front. Since I have the same 110. The only problem I'm having is I get 1-2 inches of water in the rear. I belive it's the skupper plugs. I'm gonna switch them out to a different style and see if that helps.
Thanks, glad you like the video and got some good ideas for your yak. I dont have the issue of getting water in the wear only under my seat because I have the thru-hull scupper transducer mount there, but even with my trolling motor pushing hard I didnt get any water into the rear, I believe its due to a balance issue. I have my battery upfront which balances the 110 perfectly. Do you have your battery in the front?
@@Budman157 Try it, hopefully it makes a difference. Every video I sae eith the trolling motor and battery in the rear, they stated it had water in the rear as well.
Catching those blue gills are fun and good eating to great video what kinda paddle do you use I’ve been looking to buy a good one keep up the good work
Your right, bluegills are fun and top of the line eating. I was using the Pelican Symbiosa Paddle, its greay for a low paddle stroke. I have a higher paddle stroke sp I tend to alternate between the Symbiosa and the Werner Skaget Hooked paddle. I think the Wener paddle is a bit more sturdy but at times difficult to breakdown into 2 pieces. The Symbiosa is so much easier. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching, means alot.
I just got my Mode 110 2 weeks ago and my battery is coming Friday for my 40lb thrust motor. Your videos have helped me a bunch! Thanks for sharing your journey. What part of the country are you in?
Im in the south in Georgia. Im pleased to know my videos have been helpful to you. Friday will be a big day, and the weekend that follows, your going to love the yak with the added motor.
Thanks for the nice video i am also very interested in the same kayak but just concerned about the motor setup. can you give me more info about the extended handle for the motor. does it work well thanks
Glad you enjoyed the video. The handle works great for me. It feels sturdy, grips the handle well and doesn't slip. It telescopes smoothly. I have heard people complain about its comfortability, which I have not experience. It took a few minutes to get used to the steering, I just adjusted my steering tension and was golden. I am also used to running a tiller outboard, so this felt right at home for me. Hope that helps.
Its pretty good. I like it but I am also used to it because I have a tiller steer jon boat. I had no issues with turning or boat control. It actually worked out better than I anticipated.
Maybe try hose clamps instead of the zip ties. Might be able to get them a little tighter. Hope that helps you. Just subscribed and im liking the content so far. Just got a catch mode 110 tr myself. Good luck out there!
Nice video as always. I was curious if you still had the catch mode 110 plastic retractable skeg and if you were willing to sell it. No matter where I look it seems impossible to get one! Have a blessed day and enjoy the waters!
Yes I still have it. I would sell it to you, but I plan to use it when I put my trolling motor on the bow when my Autoboat arrives whuch ia huge reason why I setup the trolling motor mount the way I did. I want to keep my skeg so it can keep good tracking in the rear with the bow mounted motor. Hopefully they come back in stock soon, they are aimple but make a world of difference. I will keep an eye for it, I just looked around for you and it is out of stock every where.
@@fishingistherapy i appreciate it! Enjoy the waters and i look forward to your next adventure! I’ll be floating and camping on the eleven point river to catch some trout this week should be a lot of fun !
Just waiting for the delivery of the Catch Mode 110. Nice setup! Your motor was really bookin' on the water. Can you use the standard transom option from Pelican with your motor or do you have to go that setup? I'll probably use foot pedal mod for turning instead of the tiller handle and mount the motor head to my right side near the seat for throttle/reverse/power. Appreciate all your vids! Go get some more therapy!
You can definitely use the standard transom option, I just wanted to keep my skeg option and have a quick release option for when my Autoboat setup comes and I move it to the bow. Your right, the 55lb thrust had me moving. I think the trolling motor head is going to be a bice option for you with foot steering on this yak. Definitely would have went that route if my setup wasn't going to change when my Autoboat arrives. Get that therapy, im sure you cant wait for yours to arrive.

That means alot, Im glad you enjoy my videos. I put the stand up in there because I knew that was important as that would be a function and motion that we all need to know before buying. I love the seat riser, it made life on the water more comfortable then I expected. I appreciate you watching!

Your right, turning with that leaning seat had me worried. I have fixed it by adding a few zipties to prevent it from sliding and now it works perfectly. I love the newport vessels 55lb thrust.
