Looks great...however, I had a new Lexus back in 2011 and there was a company called Autobahnd that did a protective clear front protection on my car. They said it had a 10 year guarantee too. After about 2 years, and road debris like bugs hitting the front the clear protective film looked like garbage. It had a couple spots that were coming up from this debris. The car was taken care of by me (washed regularly and detailed). When I tried calling the company, they were no longer in business and nobody including the dealer that used this company to install the "clear bra" wanted anything to do with it. After paying a company a few hundred dollars to use some heat method to take it off, you could see the line where it was on my car. I swore never to put anything over my paint for protection ever again. The ceramic coating seems like a great thing but I would never use a clear coating over the whole car. You think today you are doing the right thing but in a couple of years...try getting someone to warranty your clear protection on your car.
Hi Dean, If you have your warranty info you should be able to bring it back to any authorized installer and get it warrantied. Yes I have seen clear bra a few years old that has been riddled with road impacts, but that is the film doing its job, it's there for protection. You can take the clear bra off and have your original perfectly protect paint underneath, and if you saw a line when you took the film off that just shows you how much UV and other weather elements can affect an unprotected part of the vehicle. Paint Protection Film is not for everyone, it's expensive and it does require regular maintenance to stay looking good.
Looks amazing but I wonder how this work via insurance. Say the car gets damaged or in an accident...does insurance cover the additional cost to re-apply the wrap and such?!
You might get more business if you had pricing information either here or on your website. I went to the website and couldn't even see anything about this service.
Because they don't want you to be sticker shock! It's easily $5K - $7K for the entire car! But most people do not do the entire car, especially for a $40K-$50K car.
so they recommend protection on the protection film? so... a bodyguard for my bodyguard? lol just JK'ing, awesome video! car looks so great after everything! thumbs up!
Thanks for this video. I'm foggy on the in's and out's of all this, but learning more. What is the standard life span of ceramic coating? Correct me if i'm wrong, but ceramic coating is similar to waxing the car, except eliminating the need to wax and buff the car......this kind of coating seems like a "must have", like a top coat over the paint to keep it shiny and safe.
Yeah. People are going to say it's not worth it, and they can be right. I think it matters if you know your paint and your own work ethic. For me I can use help in making it lower maintenance. I have three kids and I am the only one who works. But I'll do what it takes to keep my car pristine, like my leather shoes or my house. I own a Tesla Model 3 that has very soft paint and it's black to boot. Looks great when it's pristine. Looks like crap when it's not. So it depends on your situation, and it also matters how nice your car has to be. I keep my cars until the last wheel falls off. So it's worth it for me. With a well maintained xpel wrap properly installed, I can drive around an old car and it not look ghetto 15 years down the road.
Exactly! and it's not for everyone, some people may not be keeping their cars very long or they just don't have the same level of pride in their vehicles like us.
how long should you typically wait after a paint job before getting a detail? my cars at the body shop now but would love to bring it to you guys after. good thing I'm near your glenview location and keep up the awesome videos!
Let me make this as simple as possible electric forklifts, electric lawnmowers, electric weedeater, you get the point, consumers always go back to gas and always will
Even then it seems a bit stupid.. a couple rock chips etc.. you can get those fixed cheaper. The detailing business community is raking money in by misleading people to install PPF on the entire car.
Jason, I am taking delivery of my red model 3 in about 3 weeks. I spoke with a person I met at a Supercharger yesterday who was driving his white model 3. He tinted the glass on all four sides but did not tint the rear window at all. I have seen it tinted and of course the correct way is to do the whole 55" rear window coming down and tinting over the top of rear passengers all the way to the rear to make the job look right. I've never thought about not tinting the rear window at all. Your thoughts? Also, I have 3M Crystalline on my current car which is 7 years old and it still looks great (a bit of a bronze tint even though supposed to be neutral). I have seen other brands like Photosync and the Llumar Stratos you use here. Why do you recommend Stratos oner the others? Thanks
Hi Dean, congratulations man! Most customers will go ahead and tint the entire back window, yes. We used to be 3M crystalline installers, it is a good film. At the time that film hands down had the best heat rejection, once Stratos came out we decided to drop crystalline because the heat rejection numbers are very similar. I'm going to be totally honest with you, Stratos, Photosync and Crystalline are all great films and you will not go wrong with any choice you make.
Hello, My ? Is after the ceramic film is installed and you apply the initial wax or paint sealant that the manufacturer recommends does that mean you never have to wax the vehicle being is though the paint is no longer exposed to the out side elements?
@@ChicagoAutoPros Ok so it's all the same when talking about ceramic coating, I wasn't sure if one was a "wax spray" type of coating while the other was an actual physical coating. Thanks for reply.
Joseph Nguyen A full wrap is usually around 4-5k, ceramic coating 800-1600$. Will vary shop by shop but not by a lot. It’s very expensive and not for everyone.
I did it my 2019 Acura RDX with XPEL Ultimate plus PPF and Opti Coat Pro plus coating at "UltimateShield" in Orange county. Very professional guys with attention to detail. It costed $5700
False and false, Tesla batteries have been shown to last longer than that and motors good for a million miles. There should be penalties for spreading lies like you just did.
@pwrshots There are original Tesla Model S batteries with 300,000+ miles on them and less than 10% degradation. The Model 3 electric motor and gearbox were tested to 1 million miles and basically looked new after that. So yes, stop spreading lies.
Guys, super impressed with your set-up, workmanship and detail. Your prices are worth every penny! If I lived in the Chicago area, you would have my business. Any recommendations you gave give for a similar quality place in the Tampa, FL area or central Florida?
How to PROTECT Your TESLA Model 3? Oh easy... call a better shop to get the work done. One that values my time and money. Covid-19 got everything in a downward spiral, but I guess you guys hate money. Yeah... I called another shop and got this work done. Thanks anyway though!
Did you just lift the Tesla like this ua-cam.com/video/Xpe46BD59Y8/v-deo.html ???? Whaaaat! Theres jackpads you need to use and it's not the right position.
I once got a ticket in Chicago for my window on the driver’s and passenger’s side windows. What amount is legal in Chicago? I definitely like the idea of some tint, but would hate to pay for a ticket and removing it after having paid to put it on!
The shop that came most recommended in the Portland area has been telling me that they do not need to paint correct before applying XPEL ultimate plus because it will not show any swirl marks through it. Does this sound right? It didnt to me, they only clay for prep. I pick up my Model 3 Thursday and if I'm spending nearly $5k on protection, I want it done right. They have done over 200 Model 3's but that number isn't doing anything to reassure me.
Hello, no you don't "need" to do paint correction before film but often time there is dust nibs, paint chips and other defects that need to be taken care of for a better looking install. We do paint correction before we install film, we just get a better result because of it.
One thing no shops tell you upfront is how much it costs when PPF gets damaged and needs to be removed, or replaced. Poor quality films will also turn yellow over time. Tesla came out amazing Jason. Another great video.
You might get more business if you had pricing information either here or on your website. I went to the website and couldn't even see anything about this service.
There is a button in the middle of the page that says "free quote"
Okay fair enough Thank you, thinking maybe I will drive there and have you guys do my car
the reason they don't have pricing information is because for what they did in this video costs 7-9k depending on labor costs
I just configured my deep blue metallic Model 3 in Chicago and called this shop for a quote on these services!
Hi Adam, What did you do to your model 3?
Still waiting for it. Configured on 3/23.
I’m waiting on a model 3 too what did they quote you?
Spent $3,800 for PPF (full front clip, XPEL), ceramic coating (full car, Modesta), paint correction and all windows tinted (Stratos).
Really nice just job, guys. Best wrap I've seen so far. Making chitown proud!
Thank you!
What’s the point of me watching if price is not in your video description
Honestly, does this process look cheap?! If you want it, you just get it.
Because they don't want you to be sticker shock! It's easily $5K - $7K for the entire car! But most people do not do the entire car, especially for a $40K-$50K car.
It's expensive. You can't afford it.....
Was prob around 5k
Wish you guys were here in the SoCal, Los Angeles area... Would've brought my Model 3 to you guys to do this kind of protection on it..
so they recommend protection on the protection film? so... a bodyguard for my bodyguard? lol just JK'ing, awesome video! car looks so great after everything! thumbs up!
My understanding is that paint protection should not be used on paint that is newer than 90 days. Is this correct?
Looks fantastic but damn that's some $$$ to drop
So I have a question, as there dont seem to be any answers online. When curing a coating by heatlamp, what temp and for how long?
120 - 140 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes
What about corrosion on the backside of the panels? And under the car where it is probably no paint at all?
Anywhere you'd recommend in texas?
Thanks for this video. I'm foggy on the in's and out's of all this, but learning more. What is the standard life span of ceramic coating? Curious what will be the cost for ceramic coating also the plastic protection?
Because the prices varies with so many different options it's best to call or fill out the contact us page on the site.
Could you give a rough estimate of what each detailing item cost?
Yeah. People are going to say it's not worth it, and they can be right. I think it matters if you know your paint and your own work ethic. For me I can use help in making it lower maintenance. Great stuff bro!
Nice job. I have Tesla model 3. How much is the cost. For do everything you did with that car ?
how long should you typically wait after a paint job before getting a detail? my cars at the body shop now but would love to bring it to you guys after. good thing I'm near your glenview location and keep up the awesome videos!
3-4 weeks.
Let me make this as simple as possible electric forklifts, electric lawnmowers, electric weedeater, you get the point, consumers always go back to gas and always will
5k to 8k dollars is way too much, might be worth it if the car is over 100k.
Even then it seems a bit stupid.. a couple rock chips etc.. you can get those fixed cheaper. The detailing business community is raking money in by misleading people to install PPF on the entire car.
I need to do this when I get my Tesla...
They allow you to tint the windshield but not Expel the outside?
Expensive for sure !
Where do I go in central NC for a service like this?

Jesus Christ, a precision condom for the entire car! I'm already getting sick at attaching a foil to my cell phone without dust...
How much doees it cost this complete protection?
i guess the Tint costs $300 to $500 dollars and the paint protection wrap costs $2000 to $3000 dollars
Expensive,this is too much.
I think the 8 hours of paint fixing is worth at least $1000.
I agree
I paid 6k for XPEL Ultimate Plus with XPEL tint.
Where do you order the 70% window film?
Wow... beautiful job! :)
Any recommends for the Los Angeles area?
Hello,
My ? Is after the ceramic film is installed and you apply the initial wax or paint sealant that the manufacturer recommends does that mean you never have to wax the vehicle being is though the paint is no longer exposed to the out side elements?
To take care of your sealant it needs proper cleaning and replenishing
How much is the paint film for a tesla model Y

There is no such thing as a "ceramic wrap"

Why don't you tell Elon to send some of those TO AUSTRALIA .WE ARE ALL NUTS ABOUT THEM
How much will all this cost?
How long would this take to do? I'd like to bring my 3 to you next week
3-4 days depending on what our schedule looks like. Please give the shop a call.
Very cool !
Anyone else think this guy looks like the old Chemical Guys video guy without the beard?
Like he said in the video..."OverKill"...Let a pro "Detailer" do it every so often and save tons of money. :P
Edwin Stewart - Ok sort of, but detailing won’t protect against small rocks flying from the freeway, the clear film will.
What happens to the film after 10 years if it needs replace. How do you remove the film
You can remove the film by heating up the adhesive and pulling it off. We like to use a steamer to take it off.
I thought it was illegal to tint the windshield?
Pricing please. What's the big secret?
Steve bakker
10k
They didnt talk about the price, i wonder why 😂😂
Anyone does this in. NY, NJ area ?
This thing will cost like $10k at least.
How much did all of this cost your client?
Joseph Nguyen A full wrap is usually around 4-5k, ceramic coating 800-1600$. Will vary shop by shop but not by a lot. It’s very expensive and not for everyone.
Too bad youre not in Vancouver BC =(
check out model 3 owner club. They have someone in Canada did great job too.
know anyone in LA who does this?

HA. Now that you said that, it is a little annoying. Thanks for watching!
in ten years the paint will be brand new and you'll need new batteries and electric motors. nice work
False and false, Tesla batteries have been shown to last longer than that and motors good for a million miles. There should be penalties for spreading lies like you just did.
yeah like the two teslas I've seen on gas powered flat beds. lol got juice ?

LOL, So unprofessional.
Super !!!!
Expect north of $6000, just the film itself to do the whole car is at least $5k.
How much does this cost?
What was the total cost of this? I have the same model and would love to get everything this Tesla got. How much was this?
I'd say around 5-6k including tint, ceramic coating and xpel ppf lol

$7k easy.
