    If you don’t absolutely need the miles during the week, charge to 80%. Then leave work Fridays with 90% for the weekend. It’s a tiny bit less harder on the battery and will make it last longer.
    I have a 2013 Model S performance. I only charge to 70% at work. 80% when I leave work on a Friday for weekend miles (my commute is only 11 miles). I’ll go to 100 for the half dozen trips a year. But make sure I time it so I leave as soon as it hits 100%. You don’t want it to “stay” at a high rate of charge. That accelerates degradation. 8 years later, my battery still has 95.2% capacity.
    On an 8 year old battery.

    Does anyone have a rough estimate to re-upholster a car seat in vinyl? I wonder if all the time and specialty products used to clean and protect a seat is worth it over the life of that seat, or what type of value do you get for putting the time in and product on regularly? I would think that getting leather with contrast stitching to match oem would be difficult and pricey, but dyed vinyl seems like it might be relatively cheap to replace.

    • @Hattonbank
      @Hattonbank 2 роки тому +1

      PVC is about 25% of the price of basic embossed seat leather, but the work in cutting the panels and sewing all of them together is largely the same. All you save is the difference in the higher cost of the leather vs the PVC.

    • @scottmattern482
      @scottmattern482 3 роки тому

      My understanding is that scotchgaurd will be stripped by normal cleaning with carpet/upholstery cleaner. Or at least that is what the carpet cleaner told me when he was trying to sell their protectant application after my home's carpets were cleaned.

    • @Mogsy28uk

      Gyeon do a good Fabric Coat product for carpets and fabric seats, or Leather Coat for all leather/vinyl surfaces. I have also used Rain-X's Repel Guard on older cars, it works too, but needs re-done every few months.
