Thanks a bunch arc for another great video! I have a third party GCN controller that I use as backup for when I don’t have batteries for my CCP and the mini turbos don’t seem to charge as quickly as a hard drift, I haven’t tried it on CCP yet but I’m not sure if it’s working
Some controllers don't have good angle notches especially knock off controllers, that's something I should've talked about my b.

Whoa, mixed drifts are a thing. *mind blown* So many things make sense now, and there's so much stuff I need to learn and practise just with this bit of knowledge.

I started playing this game seriously over 10 years ago and went on and off when WiFi was shut down. Softdrifting wasnt a common thing back in the day thats why I struggle so much executing it since my muscle memory is trained to just do stuff from like 2010 xD However, this is a great video and I hope that I can finally implement some of these strategies to my own game

@@Nao-ll7su It's really not. You can softdrift TAS angles with every controller. Doesn't mean it's consistent.
@@Arcintel I mean look at jongwoo for example, it's just a matter of practice, it might be harder but it's easily possible to softdrift consistently even with wheel.

All your video are so clean and well explained it's rly enjoyable to watch them even if I already know everything in the video lol. Imo you could've talked about the fact that an mt is charged when a the drift value reaches 270 and go more in details but it's maybe not that important.
I went over that in a older video, this video was just a one stop shop on how to DO the soft drift. Not how it works.

I play wheel and i only started playing the game again recently from a 4 to 6 year gap and i played with karts not bikes and on auto so for me i struggle with the entry i have got the charge right atm i am trying to learn the shortcuts more efficently
I'm curious. How do you get like the previews of courses at the end of your vids? Like this Maple Treeway one at the end of this one
Do soft drifts give you lower air on trick ramps as well?
I find since I was five I have to do a mixed hard drift on almost every turn or I'll hit a wall or fall off. Maybe I'm aligning very badly?

Wow, Arc, you are just getting better at these things. Did you come up with these terms yourself, or are they really an official thing? (To anyone else who reads this, sorry, but I'm still a noob at video games lol)
Some mechanics in this game don't have terms so I do make a decent amount of terms yeah, but some things like a "soft drift" or a "spin drift" are terms made by other people.
Your videos make me wonder about changing my controller, I've always been a wheeler but this doesn't make me confident lol

I dont do anything else than an 08 hard or jus tome random direction with an wheelee in the end. I have treid orackrising the morr oprimal things but i just cant :(
My muscle memory has me doing fail drifts because I was try to keep myself aligned.
Hopefully I can learn to be a better player.
Hi arc, nice video it helped me like every other but, maybe u forgot or maybe you did it for a your choise, there aren't subtitles and whitout them it's little bit harder for me to understand because you english is so fluid for let me and so many other people understan so please if you can add'em it'll really help me. (sorry for my english again, I'm 13 and Italian so my english is semi-bad)

1:29 I don't know if you have modded your game or not (worse drift stat for BB lol) but I can't hard drift that turn with the BB without hitting the wall (or I am starting the drift too early)
The bullet bike has a tighter drift radius lol, just like the mach bike. So yeah you can't hard drift that with your vehicle
@@Arcintel with BB I refer to the Bowser Bike not the Bullet Bike , I probably should have used the american name instead of the european name

Does it matter if you are softdrifting if you hold the top notch or bottom notch? Like is it any different?
on a flat ground not really, however on certain turns that go up or down it's sometimes better to hold down to help stick to the ground.
TLDR it sometimes depends on the turn.

learn the choreography, in other words, watch bkts and mimic where to do what kind of drifts.
