ME: Yes you can you need to use a white HTV (heat transfer vinyl) first and then once you print your design on the dtf film from your sublimation printer you then press it over the white vinyl on your shirt

Will the black powder show the white in the design without the vinyl?
Is the film and powder necessary? Can't you sublimate onto white vinyl with regular sublimation paper?
To achieve the best results for your project, we recommend that you use a DTF printer and DTF ink with our dtf film and powder. The use of sublimation ink or other regular ink requires certain technical and equipment requirements, and indeed some customers have successfully achieved good results. If you'd like to explore these options, we suggest checking out instructional videos and guides on UA-cam or Google.
White Vinyl doesn't take sublimation ink, the only ones that do are things like glitter etc where there is a poly coating to hold the glitter etc in place. Sublimation requires a type of poly based masterial to interact with
Yes white pu vinyl does take the sublimation ink dtf hack , I have tried it and it works great and won’t wash out
must be really thick on the shirt having vinyl then dtf film ontop of the vinyl
For an optimal effect, it's recommended that you use the DTF printer along with the DTF transfer film, DTF ink, and DTF powder.
Did the color wash out ?
