Thanks for the update. Ordering mine as we speak. I am swopping out my 2000w inverter charger for the mp2 to finalize all the victron setup.
That's great! Good luck with the new rv.
Both sides of ac input will show. Make sure you have current firmware updates.
I have been researching the MPII as well. Good to hear your feedback on them. Starting to plan things for the next rig on how we may want to do it. Great install as always. I also like the Color GX monitor. That thing is nice.
Very cool!!! That multiplus II is big!
It is!
Hello Mike and Leanna! Another great install! Thank you very much for sharing this experience....especially with the MultiPlus II !
Inside my ORV 22FQS travel trailer exterior pass through storage area, where the solar hardware would go, the vertical measurement is only approx 20 inches. So, I think I'd be forced to stick with the traditional 3k Inverter that is only like 15inches tall (I think).
Here you go again.....another awesome storage improvement/solar hardware mounting home run! You rock when it comes to these mounts. The sliding access door is great!
Safe travels!
Right or Wrong I have seem them installed on their side.
Thank you so much for the kind words. I appreciate it.
My MPII arrived yesterday. After attending the mobile training RV that Victron puts on tour, I hope to be able to install this with my two BBGC3 batteries. If you were out here on the west coast, I’d be checking your schedule to do the install. Love your work sir!
I will be on the west coast this year! thedrycampers.com/contact-us/
@@TheDryCampers Thank you. I’ve since installed my equip. With my trailer, there wasn’t enough space to install where you do your work without losing some pass through space. I ended up installing mine in the forward battery compartment alongside the generator. It seems impossible, but I measured 3 times and just made it fit. Goes together like a puzzle and can only be removed in a specific order. It’s been great camping with it. I’ve still got the solar to address next, but for now, I’ve been using the gen to charge the batteries. High regards and enjoy Quartzite
Looks awesome. Just a thought. Doesn't everything get hot behind the plexiglass?
If the equipment does get hot, the plexiglass is sliding so you are able to open it up if needed but we do allow for other areas of ventilation.
Hey Mike, love your channel, I have watched just about every vid. I have a question? Im doing almost this exact same install on my GD 310GK. I already have the Progressive Dynamics lithium converter charger from phase 1 upgrade. Now Im going with the multi plus 2. I see in this video you are incorporating that lithium charger into the install and you mention for faster charging. How is this hooked up along with the MultiPlus 2? I see a switch installed next to the PG converter but Im lost as to how you did this, any help??
Hey Mike, I am switching from the multiplus i to this new multiplus ii because the SPS transfer switch that I was using from AM solar was failing. They offered me a deal on the multiplus ii instead of just replacing the SPS. I am going to sell my old multiplus i on eBay, how much do you think i should sell it for on ebay. I am still going to use my color control GX instead of the cerbo. You have the cleanest installs with the best use of available space, some people use the front basement which I think is a lazy way to do it. Love hearing your input on the multiplus ii. Larry
Hi Mike and Leanna! Another Wow install! Thanks for sharing. So it sounds like the order of good, better, best would be good: one Multiplus I, better: one Multiplus II, best: two Multiplus I s . Do I have that right? Maybe sometime you could do a video just breaking down the pros and cons of each factoring in costs of money and weight. Thanks! Also wasn’t sure I understood the switch at the end that makes the batteries charge faster. Thanks again!!
Now getting additional information, we have a way of doing 2 Multi II's, so that may be upcoming in the future; however, I'll have Mike discuss this subject on tomorrow's Patron livestream - great topics to go over!
How do we sign up and watch the patron livestream? Another great looking install. Your installs are the best looking I’ve see .

Speaking of the inverter on the fridge and specific plugs. I have that going on with my North Point 377RLMB with a 1875 inverter. I thought of adding one MP II and keeping mine as well but how does the existing fridge avoid seeing the MP II current as shore current and stay on? Assuming that the current for the factory inverter is tapped before the panel at the shore cord or ATS?
Use the ac 2 out to a sub-panel breaker and then to the fridge inverter. This will give the fridge shore power only when you have shore power.
For 2 leg setups, can you do a video on the wiring? Would two Multiplus units with alternated L1/L2s going into a panel provide 240V?
If the goal is 240v I would use two multiplus 1s. Nothing in the rv is 240v though. If you can avoid putting a 240v appliance in your rv, do. It is incredibly problematic
So 5000 watts on inverters being feed from the battle born batteries ?
Where do you purchase the upper and lower rails for your system slider access door? Thanks.
It's a rabbit hole, but here you go
Search 2020 aluminum extrusion.
How loud is the multiplus 2 while it's running I have limited spots to install was considering mounting it inside a compartment under my entertainment center
It’s loud enough to bother you when the fan in the Multiplus II is running. Mine is in the front compartment of my fifth wheel & I can hear it with the compartment door closed.
It the loudest when it is charging batteries and its not quite....
I recently found your channel and have been watching all your installs... WOW great work reminds me of some of the high-end car audio installs. With some of the installs I was wondering why you weren't using the Multi-2 and now I see that you are.
Question for you if you have the time... Can the Multi-2 be used on a 30a single leg system? trying to future proof myself in case I upgrade to a 50A rig in the future I'd prefer to only buy once.
We have to use products / equipment readily available and up until about a month or so ago we were not able to readily get the Multi II, so that's why you don't really see it in our videos yet. We have several install videos lingering from the spring and summer as well.
Yes, you can do it. It's kind of pointless on a 30A RV, but you can do it, yes.
In what instance would you do a dual Multiplus II installation...???
If you want to run 240V loads off of just the battery
When the consistent load will be grater then half of the inverter.
'Are the Watt hours in a 48v battery 4x as much when stepping the power down to 12v system?'.
Kind of a trick question. If you're doing a DC to DC step down, without the loss in the equipment to do the conversion, yes, it would be 4x.
@@TheDryCampers I see. So with some loss in the conversion, would it still be pretty close to 4x? Just trying to understand if I get a 48v (or 24v) battery how it will translate into watt hours for an RV.
