What are your thoughts on hair gel as a pre styler? I know the alcohol in gel is drying but when paired with a good oil I can achieve really good volume and not feel like my hair is super dried out.

Joe, I’m stocked for the new volume cream. But from what I could tell on the testers for the cream, they all had thick and full hair. Did you have any testers with thin hair or somewhat receding hairlines? Does it give those people volume as well?
I have fine hair but a lot of it. I want to do a messy textured quiff. Do you think ascend and monarch are the best for that? Or should I look at something else?

If you're on phone there should be a button on one of the sides to increase or decrease volume. If you're on pc, go to the bottom right corner and look for a speaker sign. Click on it and increase volume with the slider.

Tbh what really helps me is to towel dry my hair first but not too dry, leave some moisture and to blow dry your hair upside down and use hair products to keep it in place/style.
You can also use your hands/brush to help style your hair which blow trying
Actually just tried Joico Spiker (only about a dime size) as a pre-styler & blow dried my hair in to it's style. Worked pretty well. Combined with some Got2b freeze spray at the roots.

you can definitely combine cloud control with another pre-styler that's how I use it. But I don't think you would need both Original and Ascend Volume Cream at the same time. Mess with both and see what your hair likes!

How do I know if i have ''thicker'' hair. I have the idea that it is neither thick nor thin, if i roll a single hair in between my fingers I can feel it though. I have the idea my hair type is as for example Dre Drexler, Justin Bieber and Zac Efron. Also, I found this sort of mousse which I used a couple of times, and it gave me a lot of volume but it collapses pretty soon though I can restyle it easily for the rest of the day. If anyone can help me with my hair type, pls lol

So I use caviler clay but I switch to monarch to try it out. TBH I don’t really like it for volume it makes my hair little to shiney and doesn’t hold my hair ass good as the caviler. Caviler clay is still my fav product.

Alrighty.. When I apply it into dry hair it gets really sticky in the back. It sticks my hair together and it feels like I ran it through a comb, and it stayed like that. I haven’t tried it with damp hair yet, should I give that a go? I’m thinking of getting pre-style cream, but I won’t be able to blow dry because it gets extremely fluffy and unmanageable. This sucks because it’s a very good hold, and everything but the back is really good.
So what about a smoothing cream?
