It is the X5 pole. Canal fishing is quite aggressive on your gear, shipping across a towpath, pushing your pole through the hedges and avoiding bikes and runners. Hoping catching loads of small fish, braking down sections to rotate lines. This would be a great pole for canals and rivers, the joints will take the abuse. I'd use it for "everything pole" at 13 metres or less. 14.5 still very good, even compared to a pole twice it's price. 16 metres maybe a bit heavier than some poles but still very manageable. I got the pole as I want something that is tough at length. I fish Windmill and Horseshoe lakes, and these fish do pull really hard. My MVR4 is capable of coping with bug fish in open water, but as soon as you have to fish 3.5mm elastics and 0.25 lines against snags, a different ball game. The Maver MVR2 is a nice pole too. Very similar.
Thought you were a maver sponsored angler chris and you've got the shimano pole in action lol??😮
I got supported by Maver in 2022 to 2023, but not this year.
Still have my Maver Pole. It's not built for this kind of fishing.
@chris63506 first time I've seen you using the shimano though mate
Only just got it
Is that the x5 chris genuine thoughts on it thinking of buying it would it be at home on canals or is it a carp pole
