This is cracking video showing how to fish a floating feeder. I have also been trying to get the Korum floating feeder but had no luck. Made my own from an old plastic maggot feeder. Prosecco cork as the plug. Drill a hole right through big enough to take elastic / rubber band/ ladies hair bobble. Cut the Prosecco cork just enough after the diameter changes from large to small so to form a seat in the plastic feeder. Next get an old plastic store card and cut it hexagon shape bigger than the diameter of the feeder and drill a hole through it. Push the elastic through the card and knot the end. Thread the elastic through the feeder and the seat end of the cork. Stretch the elastic enough to give closure tension and knot the end to secure. There you have a home made floating feeder for 10mins prep, 5 mins work, 5 mins clear up.
Watched this video last week and tried to buy one. Korum say that they should be available end Aug early Sept. I made my own from a maggot feeder and a cork. Used I today and was amazed st results. Had over 20 carp and F1s on hottest day of year.
Love your videos mate single-handedly got me to try feeder fishing after mostly fishing rivers, now I’m hooked 😂 going to pick up one of these or make my own for sure 👍
I watch all your videos Westy and appreciate the time and effort you put into them. It would be good if you can mention where you’re fishing. I can see other comments asking the same question a lot. Tight lines 👍🎣
I always link the fishery in the descriptions buddy, if I don’t then there is a reason why I haven’t, usually political. Some don’t want the advertising which is crazy
Yet another brilliant video, just a shame we can't get hold of a feeder to try it out as well. I appreciated the video you sent my mate 'Mike' we will get him back out fishing very soon 👍
Great video always wanted to us the korum float feeder when it first come out but never have the chance to get one and now I know it works I will be getting some and I love watching your videos
In fact bud, I found a couple of old Shakespeare, Large, In line maggot feeders, there's a plain, semi circular chamber on one side, sealed with a pull cap for the loose Lead strip to go in. I've emptied the lead out, & painted that section Fluorescent red. Tested in washing up bowl, & they come, red side up & buoyant, Every time. Being, "In Line", they float Parallel as well, so will empty out the pellets better with all the holes facing down ? Thanks for planting the seed mate !!
I made something similar using a Kinder Surprise Egg. Drilled some 6mm holes, a bent piece of stainless steel wire for the line attachment and a piece of closed cell foam hot glued in the cap. Really quite simple!
Hiya, So I went out the other night I didn't do as good as you but it is a great way to take them off the top. Tomorrow (depending on the weather) & (if I see there feeding off the top) I am going to try different mixes, I will let you know.
Great video mate very impressed. I suppose it's the same thing as such but just wondering if there's a pellet waggler float but with holes in it with an option to bug feed inside the float one end.
Andy findlay was doing this many many years ago using foam in standard feeders to get them slow sinking or floating there’s a video on here somewhere on foundation lake at Mallory park probably where Korum got it from
Hiya, what a great video, I already tried the float feeders, yes I caught fish but not as good as you. I thought I would make my ground bait sloppier so it would leek out easier, not sure I was right, my thinking was it drips out the feeder & that would attract the fish. Any way today is hot & I am going out at 3pm till 9pm so I will try it your way. Hopefully I do just as good.
Been trying to get one of these for weeks now, but like for most of us it’s out of stock. Anyways, a mental session as I thought it would be so well done 👍.
Definitely reinvented the wheel with that one. Floating feeders have been available for years, they do look like a well made version of TBF not much good if you cant get hold of them, it is also. A deadly method on a pole. I missed the venue name can I ask where it is as it looks like a lovely place.
Hiya, ok I went out on Sunday, it wasn't the weather for sunbathing on the lake so I didn't float feed, but I had a great morning on the method. I cant plan my fishing days, so that's why I take a bit of this that & the other. Its like the weather prepare for everything.
It can be a deadly method when the weathers right & if your struggling to find floating feeders stick a ping pong ball in the top of your normal feeders. I also fish the Riaco slow sinker depth charge bites can be savage when you get it right ✅️ 🎣
You smashed that, never seen you catch so many carp! When you say dry for the Groundbait did you add any water? I went to a country park lake today that I’d never fished before, I had two rods on the go, one with the floating feeder and one with the method, blanked on both 😂 I’ve tried the sloppy groundbait and tried it more dry today, I think dry is better, it clouds up the water better and it’s easier and less messy to load, plus you can really pack it in and it still comes out. I’m definitely going to use two rods, one with method and one floating over the summer to see what’s going best
Great product and a great watch... again. Am I wrong or could the feeder be developed to be quick change, then us tip fishermen can simply change the style of fishing as the fish start to cruise usually later in the day?
For anyone looking for any floating feeders still there has been a delivery I've managed to get a few from Ian's fishing tackle but everywhere else sold out in less than an hour so don't hang around
What are these fish called your catching Matt 😂😊 good film, back where you belong 😊😊😊😊😊 need a feeder sesh for old times sake on the lake soon pal 👊🎣🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟
great video but this is torture knowing i cant get one to try it out i have tried making one from a magot feeder i took the lead off and put some foam in the top no sucsess yet but working on it i wiill try the dry mix next time
I have seen them ! Problem is it dumps all the bait right away, these can be fishing for a longer period of time without recasting, allowing fish to build confidence. That’s what I have found so far 👍🏻🎣 but the rocket feeders are a great temporary alternative 🚀
Hi - can I ask what your 3 section rod bag is called and where you got it, please? I haven't watch video yet! I have a Middy feeder float but I can't work out how to get the maggots into it as it doesn't seem to open at the bottom!
Good Idea Westy, but people will already be thinking - "No Need to buy these" ! I've already got loads of "Screw Lid" or Snap on type maggot feeders, so I'll just take the Lead strip off, and add a foam/poly' disc inside. Can always put the Lead back on to have it back to normal. I just can't see these selling very well with that in mind ? (Yes, I'm a Tight Yorkshire Git) 🕊⏲
I have something similar which looks like a basket underneath with a float on top Recommended to use really sloppy groundbait and recast every minute the cloud of groundbait which attracts them in and no pinging of pellets But the Korum ones look a lot better Maybe Korum took that design and modified it
I have found adding about 10% 2mm pellets helps slow the breakdown too! Also try blended bread in it. I have found wafters on the look work best rather than pellet for some reason as well.
Interesting session Matt! No lip Linda out again! What will Korum come up with next? My first reaction ( i dont want to sound mean)...is that this is a bit of a gimmick . Think I'll stick to pellet wag.
I made my own version 20 years ago, used an orange ping pong ball with a cage feeder glued to it with a bottle top to blick the bottom off. Even did an elasticated one which was much more successful. Used it on orcherton when he banned floating baits.
Holes are way too big for maggots they would be on the floor before you cast out. You can put anything you want in it, bread flake, 2mm pellets and Groundbait works best. Check out Korum’s video on it 👍🏻
Managed to get myself a couple of these recently and am really interested in using them, but not finding anywhere that allows their use. If deemed a ‘float’ then surely one could just replace a pellet waggler with this (ie, have a float stop either side) and continue. However, if this is deemed a feeder, most fisheries state free running feeders only ie, no stops above. How would one go about a free running floating feeder?
What do you think happens when people fish pellet waggler? The noise of the pellets brings the carp into the swim and they start competing for them up in the water.

If it’s dripping out Barry it’s too watery, takes some playing about with 👌🏻👍🏻 you want a slow realise
Hi Westy a great video are you feeding floating pellets or sinking ones keep going with these information treats sharp hooks
Sinking 👌🏻 no floating baits there, but the noise brings them in
Been trying to get one of these for weeks now, but like for most of us it’s out of stock.

I believe stock is coming through in the next 6 weeks, fingers crossed you get one before the weather cools off

Really like the look of these feeders , pity about the availability , Love to see more outings using these mate ...
On the way !
Couldn't get one anywhere so made my own.
Great product and a great watch... again. Am I wrong or could the feeder be developed to be quick change, then us tip fishermen can simply change the style of fishing as the fish start to cruise usually later in the day?
You could just put a running clip on your line and attach via that, then swap between cage and this 👌🏻
@@WestysAngling I was thinking more in-line method feeder as opposed to cage but I take on board what you are saying. Thanks
Great video tried mine last week but was too windy
Definitely needs to be the right conditions!
@WestysAngling yes m8, float was all over, also I got tangled up a couple if times but the float was close to the hook length
Interesting video. You could glue a piece of foam or cork into a normal feeder and it would be just the same.
100% into a maggot feeder
Another fab vid. I seriously think they could be home-made (modified)......and maybe with swivel at bottom of feeder? What do you think Westy?
I’m thinking maggot feeder, remove the lead and put foam in the lid 👍🏻
