It outfished all other lures like Ned’s and small swim baits on Mille lacs this past prespawn/spawn and past fall bite… not only did we catch around 100 bass across two days, 95% of them came off the sleeper craw, the majority of the smallies caught were over 4lbs. It’s a slow drag bottom jig style. The hooks being exposed easily means it gets dull quick so having a lot of craws or a hook sharpener is important. I average 7-10ish before it gets destroyed and I have to super glue it. Hooks will dull quicker than the plastic’s durability (I am fishing rocks, boulders and zebra mussels on Mille lacs). It’s a highly effective smallie lure that no one is talking about. The reason why it’s so effective? It’s super muted and natural. No exposed hook, no jig head to create unnatural noises, looks like a real craw, the claws stand up in a natural posture unlike other lures that stand up in an unnatural way or just lays flat, and once again… MUTED. That’s the key along with the realistic profile. If you think $10 is too much… well think again… $5-$7 per jig… $5-$8/pack of craws… just do the math.. it’s about even.
@@ChewyThaoFishing I have enough toys to feed the needy and the greedy. So should I use a MH or H action rod for this lure? Should I use a 7'2" or 7'3"?
Although i love the bait, if you leave it in the car on accident on a hot day it does seem to start melting ive had the bottom part of mine start melting over my other plastics
At $10 a piece, not everyone at the lake is throwing MB... so those who do use it is going to present something that is different then the ones you find at Walmart. Can you do a field test between MB and R2S yabbie craw? I think they would fish similarly.
I will buy 20 of them if you have them in 4/0 or 5/0! I love the bait but the hook is too small for larger fish. I purchased 3 of them and i love it! Please contact me if you have them in a larger hook option
Very true! Lol. There was a time that I will never forget. My wife and I were fishing during a white bass blitz and the bass we’re eating anything - including a hook with a piece of plastic bag hooked as bait. Fish are smart and dumb at the same time
Not the first craw bait.. river2sea standing yabbi craw is avail weedless/ not a big deal you see the hook and guard. It also stands up...this us nothing new...just has the megabass name to promote it
Thanks for watching, Scott. I agree that this is not the first nor will it be the last version from any company. Im just appreciating the golden age we live in and I appreciate all of the companies being competitive. Only helps the consumer, us.
Thanks for watching, David. What are some things you like/dislike about the craw? Anything that can be modified to make it better? Curious as I have yet to use this as bass season is just getting started in Wisconsin.
@@ChewyThaoFishing Admittedly, I need to continue using them. And there may be a time and place for them, but I’ve had much better luck with a good ol jig and paca craw. It also seems to get hung up more than the dark sleeper.
The whole sleeper bait line are some of the most overrated baits on the market. Dark sleeper is meh. The gill is junk, half of them run off kilter. And the Craw looks so freaking chunky it reminds me of the guy from hunchback of notre dame.
Everyone has their own experience. I have had really good success on the dark sleeper and sleeper gill. I’m excited to have the same with the craw. Some of my personal best has come off a dark sleeper.
Just picked up 3 of those lures! Can’t wait to use them!
Thanks for watching! You’ll definitely enjoy them!
I have had tons of success with these on the Sacramento Delta already. Like you said, much tougher than you would expect from a super soft plastic.
Glad to hear! Im super excited to get on the water with these this year!
Seeing that they are a different plastic, how are they when stored with Dark Sleeper and Sleeper Gill?
Great question! I have not tried that yet. Let me do that today, let it sit for a few days and see how that goes!
Are the sleeping craw also effectiev fishing in the sea?
Regards from Portugal. ✌🏼which colours are more effectives on the sea?
Thanks for watching from Portugal! I don’t see why they can’t be used in salt water. It’s just plastic and a hook. Give it a whirl!
@ thank you for your advise. ✌🏼
We're catching Bass in the UK on them 👍
@@stonedeththank you for you information✌🏼😎
@@stonedethwith which colours?
I wonder if you can dye the claws and not have it melt like zman does
Great question! Were you thinking like spike it kind of dye?
@@ChewyThaoFishing ya spike it or JJs

Thank you for the review
Thanks for watching 😀
Phenomenal bait
It is indeed - very easy to use out of the package!
And what rod and reel would you fish this with?
Thanks for watching - I fish this lure just like a jig so anything that can handle a 3/8oz works! I like it on a 893c NRX for bottom contact purposes.

eeeks!!!
I ghetto rig a punch skirt onto em wen i fish em ...takes em to a whole nother level! Try it out.

Thanks for watching and thank you for asking. I can definitely add the yabbie craw to my list and compare it to the sleeper craw.
Ben at hook up tackle he said him and his coworkers fish with them last year they catch a lot of Smallmouth bass in Michigan
Can't wait to put it to the test, super stoked after getting them in-person. A lot better than what i expected.
No tail?
As with all three of those lures you need to store them back in the original packaging for the best possible shape.
Yup! I still have them in the original plastic. I even tape them shut so it doesn’t come out on accident 😅
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Without the claw it become a ned rig. $10 for a bait is too much, I’ll be sticking to my brush hogs.
That is my biggest fear. Playing with the craw, it has a lot of elasticity. Time will tell how they hold up!
Its not too much....very durable, flat out catches big fish.
After 15 days from day of order, my mega bass products finally showed up. Never ever will I order from them again.
Sorry to hear - where/who did you order from? Megabass directly?
@@ChewyThaoFishing yes mega bass directly. Their excuse was to many orders not enough staff.
Why would you order directly from them? Lol it's almost never faster than going through a 3rd party retailer
@@MadMaxx89 Because I'm not as smart as you.
I think you may have pre ordered it. It didn’t officially release until Monday of this week
$10 is ridiculous
I have heard really good things about these craws - from the reps that have been using them since last year. Time will tell 😀
10$ isn’t bad especially for Megabass product
Grow up
Fish don't care... They will eat craw w one or 2 claws lol..
