Is The Problem With The Acolyte...or With The Fans?

- A lot of talk about the Acolyte. Much of it from people who haven't even seen the project. Also from people who witnessed other questionable Star Wars productions in the past. This is the Star Wars fan routine; fake anger, adoption and then future defense. See the prequels as an example. We also talk about one of our favorite Star Wars "What Ifs?".

Problem is the fans? That’s like blaiming your own product on the consumer that makes no sense
To say that the Star Wars fan base isn’t toxic and eats away at the property they claim to love is disingenuous
The same fans that complained about the prequels, and then complained about the sequel, and then has complained about almost every show. I’m seeing a pattern here lol.
@@LA_GFC how do you make sense, if your a fan of a product and then the product starts to loose it’s quality it’s the consumers fault? How do you make any sense rn
@@dtwtpod To be fair most fans love the prequels and the majority of the hate to them was fuelled by the media.
@@ryanbaker5296 I think we're revising history a bit. The love for Hayden and the prequels really didn't grow until the sequels.
Remember when folks hated Hayden and the prequels and now all of a sudden are so mad that apparently the Acolyte is “damaging it”? 😂
Pretty sure boomers hated Hayden my guy besides the orginal creator made the prequels, not some random lesbian woman who’s never done an action adventure let alone know how Star Wars works lol
@yehoshuaosei3133 she was literally helped on this project by Dave Filloni , and you were never gonna give this show a fair shake based on your comment alone
@@yehoshuaosei3133 see that, it’s the point flying over your head.
@@LA_GFC who gives af if Dave helped her or not? Does that mean good choices were made? The show has be clowned throughout, Dave isn’t George Lucas my guy
@@yehoshuaosei3133 the complaints have not been about the show, and 1000% you haven’t even watched it so your opinions have been all second hand anyway
Imagine a restaurant in kitchen nightmares and your italian restaurant is in the shitter, instead of listening to customer reviews you double down on "people just hate italian food in this town"
"oh you hate the terribly written lesbians? Then of course no lesbian couple ever existed!"
You know who deals in absolute? Sith.
"besides the writing the rest is pretty good" my brother in thread, each episode cost 2 Godzilla minus one
"if anti-woke folks would be rooting for palpatine.". Any sane person would be anti-cops who give guns to kids to play with.
A Star Wars fan complaining about writing when the original trilogy had a brother that wanted to take his sister down and lawn gnomes specifically introduced for merchandising is comical.
If anything, poorly written product that relies on child-like wonder is the most accurate depiction of GL’s baby possible. Lol
This is not a restaurant and yall are weird lol
HoD has a diverse cast also(not everybody is just straight white, some actors are part of the Black and LGBT community), but the fans love it coz the showrunners don't shove the ideology throughout the story. HoD gives importance to the story, Disney gives importance to the messaging and corporate agenda.
HoD got lobbied the exact same criticisms when they introduced the black characters with blonde hair so that’s a lie
@@LA_GFC you right, but eventually fans got over it coz the show is awesome...nowadays nobody talks about casting choice when it comes to HoD.
If the Acolyte is actually good, fans would love it eventually, but I don't see that happening ever.
@@jerryposva95no fans got poisoned by right wing media who stole the word “woke” and weaponized it to mean anything that isn’t what they want. The result of that is people hating on a show before it even releases.
@@jerryposva95 one. No it’s not over, the actors still receive hate online to this day, two the Acolyte isn’t over yet, so the show still has time to finish its story.
@@LA_GFC If that is true it is a very loud minority of the fans if you can even call them that and it's fine for people to dislike changes to the books and as the original comment said most people don't care even the so called toxic youtubers love the show
I enjoy the show 🤷🏿♂️ but i know some people won't like it. Its a huge fan base lol
Exactly. We think its ok. The rage reviews it got before the show even dropped was the weird thing. We're cool with hate, its the blind hate thats funny to us.
This is such BS, you all forget how much evetyone loves mace windu despite the prequels problems or how much people like lando(The Great Billy Dee)? Acolyte has subpar production and writing, stop making this a race thing, the reason people call this woke is due to the cast/producers saying weird stupid crap in interviews
We talk about how cool it would have been to have Mace back in this very clip, but they killed him, were discussing how anytime diverse casting now is met with rage and hardly given any room , because let’s not forget what happened when the character Finn took off his helmet in the trailer. We have also spoke on the message should work with the story so we covered all this before
“RACIST?! WE HAVE 2 BLACK FRIENDS!” - dirk646
WE didn’t make anything about race. The weirdos complained about not having enough white men. We’re reminding them of the folly of such a position.
Man could only name 1 black😂. And the other was Jar Jar, who was an awful character
@@LA_GFC Ok first it's not racist to see a trend it's very oblivious they are pushing diverse casting now that is fine IMO but you can't be mad at people for recognising a pattern and people only get mad when it is done poorly there are many popular characters who have been changed and people love them.
And also on to the Finn point which people love to take out of context no one had a problem with him being the main character or holding a lightsaber or being a jedi they had a problem with him being a stormtrooper this was because the majority of the fan base after the prequels believed all stormtroopers were clones because in the prequel we have the clone army who wear armour very similar to stortroopers and they are under the command of the Emperor so people made the logical leap believing that all the stormtroopers were the clones that's why people where saying there can't be a black stormtrooper because at the time the story made it seem that they where all Temuera Morrison.
