In answer to your questions: 1. I think something is OFF about the production of The Acolyte. And, last I heard, the project was supposed to be a mini series, not an ongoing series. If Kennedy thinks this can be stretched out to multiple Seasons, with the gargantuan budget they've spent on 4 to 8 episodes (supposedly), so far...THAT may be where the cancellation has taken place. Perhaps this story will only be allowed to take place in miniseries format, during 2024, and not continued on from there; which may explain the idea of Headland being gone from the project, and the rest of the storyline being segmented from what has been filmed up to this point. 2. Regarding it being done shooting, last month...if it doesn't get released in 2024, that'll be the most important thing. 3. As someone who has deeply read the publishing side of Project Luminous/The High Republic, I'm curious to see how a live-action rendering of that epoch in the galaxy would look...though, I'm a fair amount perplexed by the series depicting the FINAL DAYS of The High Republic, as its first introduction of the (new) era on film. What I'm very much turned off by, is the Wokeness (which is the single worst aspect/feature of too many of the books and comics of the multimedia initiative) of the characterization of the series, based on reports and statements from Leslye Headland and the other actors involved. We'll see...
Darth Kennedy has had over ten years at Disney. And constant rumors and talk of her latest failure means she is out the door at Disney. Including Bob Iger devising a graceful way out. Only to have Darth Kennedy announce she is working on 9 new projects spanning the entire "History of Jedi". And three new movies with one featuring the "Amazing Wonder Woman" Rey, "Bestest Jedi EVER". Now with the Acolyte said to spend over 300 million in production. Thus having no chance of making money for Disney. With the presumed audience told its a movie, series of movies, a TV production run, a streaming service run over several seasons. Or maybe a traveling road show of Puppet Theater to amuse Darth Kennedy in her travels. With over 300 million and counting skyward. With the Director fired or maybe not. My guesstimate she has blown over 8 billions dollars at Disney on building monuments to Darth Kennedy. Expounding what a "wonder genius" she is at making movies. With every project a "EGO Project". Expounding how wonderful she is through characters she dreams herself to be. Only Wile E Coyote worked that market setup. But made money for his company. While Darth Kennedy lost billions as the most unfunny Hollywood villain with a frankly disgusting performance record. Why she is still employed at Disney and not promptly fired long ago. Is a business mystery that will never be solved.
@michaelrust8256 Andor imo is the only good Star Wars content since Disney took over and it seems like they are doubling down with the recent announcements unfortunately:(

Lucasfilm is trying so hard to make Star Wars in to a Disney princess genre. The sequel trilogy, then this new Rey film with her somehow being a master and teaching some new chosen one that is of course a girl. The Acolyte focusing on female villains. @@kerolokerokerolosure, there are some Disney Star Wars fans, but that number is progressively shrinking because for the most part, Disney Star Wars has been extremely disappointing - this is reflected by low ratings, financial losses and a shrinking fan base. Disney Star Wars in general is a soulless cash grab, and this, coupled with low quality output, is why a lot of people don't like it.
I heard that Geode the rock from High Republic was making a cameo in Acolyte, where it would flirt with female crew members. The me too movement took great pains to point out that flirting was harassment, and Leslie Headland's old boss caused the me too movement. Wow. Hiring an actor on an English speaking production where English is barely his second language is stunning and Brave. This ain’t Major League Baseball. I no longer give a shit what kind of garbage Disney puts out with the Star Wars moniker. I'm done with Disney SW. The Mandalorian gave me just a hint of hope that maybe SW could be salvaged. But then season 3 was released. I bailed after the 3rd episode. Also Mike Zeroh and Doomcock are completely full of shit when it comes to SW rumors.
Wow they are so original with this storyline. First KK ditches the EU then all of a sudden it sounds like we have a Treya arc that is completely original NOT!
Stuff like the situation with Batwomen made me realize that at any time a company writes a piece of media off on its taxes, they should hand it over to the Library of Congress who will release it to the public after a period of time. I'm getting tired of having our culture held at gunpoint and effectively erased by corporations for their own convenience.
Pasha said the entire time SOMETHING was filmed, they were doing something, but it wasnt a whole show. More of a promo reel they were using to get more funding, which they got twice before, but were denied now, thus the cancelation.
There's a lot of crazy stories surrounding the Acolyte. Nothing of the story has been leaked. But lots of drama over a show that may not be real. Kamron Pasha says a sizzle real is the only thing filmed. Hedland is out. Karen McCarthy, a producer was hired and fired on badfaith. She sued Disney. Perhaps she discovered the show is a sham. According to Doomcook, $312 million has been spent! Iger knows McCarthy and wants a full accounting of Lucasfilm. Hard to believe filming is complete. Actors lying??? What's going on here!
1: It will probably get released. 2: Yeah based on LF and Disneys history its usually complete the it gets beheaded. 3: Haven't been interested nor pais to watch anything since TLJ.
Darth Vader, the most iconic villain of all times (from the original trilogy) for me was ruined by Lucas with the prequel trilogy. Now when I see Vader, I see a whining little brat. Disney learned absolutely nothing from this cosmic mistake and made Darth’s grandson even worse, boo hoo poor me. Who ever saw him as a threat. What a joke.
I hope Disney makes The Acolyte and any other bad idea they've got up their sleeves. It's guaranteed to flop and they continue to hemorrhage billions of dollars.
The 'Jedi are actually bad' tangent goes at least as far back as Karen Traviss who did a stint of books in the early 2000s where the Mandalorians pretty much could do no wrong and the Jedi were the worst group out there.
Will Mangold still be in Lucasfilm/Disney’s good graces when Indy 5 is shown to be a colossal flop? Or will he be blamed for KK’s mistakes and shown the door? He certainly wouldn’t be the first director removed before the project even starts by a fickle KK.
Its a typical Lucasfilm girlpower show, so no I couldnt care less about it. I lost interest after The last jedi when they dumped on Luke. He was the centre of the Star wars universe and they showed so much desrespect to him. It was over for me after that. I havent watched anything Star wars since then.
It's quite simple... Just don't watch it. Don't support it, don't empower it... Don't give your hard earned money to it .. There's enough good quality SW stuff to watch and look forward too, hell, rewatch the original trilogy greatness. This woke and LGBT+-#@?! Infused turn everything upside down and back to front, grime... Is just a waste of time. Long live Luke, Han and Leia (and Indy)
The same so-called source that Doomcock got this rumor from is the same source that he claims told him that KK was announcing her retirement at Star Wars Celebration earlier this year. So take this rumor with a boulder sized grain of salt.
I can believe it being canceled due to the fact a director on the show is suing Disney for not being paid with the added bonus of her having the contract stating how much money she hadn't been paid. That is the main threat to the show... The fact the director is suing and Disney can avoid is by canceling it.
I am not sure how to answer question one. I guess it depends on how far along in production it is in. I believe the answer to question two is yes it has been filmed But with that said, there is still editing, GCI, soundtracks, possible reshoots, and more that needs to be done. I have heard that Indiana Jones will need to hit $900 million in sales to break even. I have a feeling if it comes short of $1 billion, Disney may end up cutting their losses on many of the future Lucas Film projects and scrap them. For question three, I personally hope that they release The Acolyte, it fails misserably, and that they lose money on it. The more that Disney fails and loses becomes more examples to future writers, producers, and directors on what not to do with your story and also their fan base.
I used to be inspired by Luke Skywalker, and sure the OG Trilogy and EU will always be a thing for me, but he's been replaced by Link. I appreciate his stoicism.
At this point I'd honestly be baffled if anyone outside of reviewers and the obvious shills even paid for modern Disney media or merch unironically anymore, Star Wars or otherwise. The money for this sludge has to come from *somewhere*, cause they keep spending more money than I'll ever live to see and making none of it back.
I'll just answer question 3: no. I've never been interested in The Acolyte, before the casting and showrunners were even announced because modern writers can't do villains as the protagonists consistently well enough for me to care, especially if they're under the Disney umbrella. Whether it's cancelled or not it's still going to be forgettable.
“Fans are sick of bad content from Disney”? Apart from two seasons of The Mandalorian has there been good content? So does Kathleen Kennedy have photos of Iger with kids or farm animals?
One actor says that filming is complete and then last week it is announced that a new trans actor was hired for the first season of the same show. So they must be adding new characters in reshoots or something. Either way since it's Lucas Film it will be late and way over budget.
as much as i want to believe this is true, Doomcock's a rumor-monger and i have a hard time believing anything he says is true because he's been wrong so many times in the past.
I was about 60/40 interested in seeing the Acolyte because I like to judge a show or movie by how it runs and not by who created it or who owns it, at least not in till I see the movie or show first to determine whether is good or bad, but after what Leslye Headland said about George Lucas, I'm now about 50/50 interested in seeing The Acolyte, she might as well call ALL men no brain buffoons, just because our reproductive organs are on the outside instead of the inside, doesn't mean our brains are there to Leslye.
I have nothing but apathy towards star wars at this point. I had no desire to watch mando season 3, I'm cautiously optimistic about Ahsoka but only because I loved rebels. Zero interest in the acolyte, I also don't have time for crap star wars.
1) My answer depends on what happens after Indy 5 officially fails. If Kennedy gets fired, my answer is no. If she doesn't... yes. 2) He may not know what hasn't been made public yet. Until something gets canned from above, people will still work on it, as if it's just another day. 3) No interest whatsoever. Just like everything Disney these days... If I don't watch it, it never officially becomes cannon. In my mind anyway.
I don’t think anything about The Acolyte or any other Disney production. I gave The Force Awakens a chance and haven’t watched any other DSW show - nor will I. It’s like watching an old friend die slowly of dementia, rather than remembering them how you knew them at the height of your friendship. I’ll happily compartmentalise DSW off from George Lucas Star Wars and hold to the opinion that there are 6 Star Wars movies, just as there are 4 Indiana Jones movies (although they should’ve left it at 3).
Hell I haven't seen anything new in English for the last 3 years. All my purchases have been Korean and Japanese TV Shows. They do some of the best Historical Dramas in the world.
There is so much new star wars content that it is hard to track it, enjoy it, let your brain digest it and get invested in it. And the content is not even worth it, It's recycled. I am 33, grew up with prequels, spent my childhood gaming dark forces and Jedi Knight. Those had soul. I saw last Jedi with my best friend and it broke us. We didn't go to see the rise of Palpatine after that... Mandalorian finale with Luke was bombastic but didn't change my attitude towards new content. I admit, that Andor, Rogue one and even Solo are not that bad. I enjoyed those.
To answer WCB questions: yes, the acolyte will be released, Disney + needs content for the sake of content and can't go Batgirl like Warner, i think the corean actor is telling the truth, his parts were already filmed, and... No, i don't care about some precuel of the precuels show, made just to fill a spot on a streaming service. I skipped Obi One, i can skip this one too
They had enough material from the good comic book stories and the works by Timothy Zahn to have had 5 or 6 projects going simultaneously and had 2 blockbuster releases a year. Instead, they went with really bad fanfic and self-inserts.

Last time I was this early, Disney hadn't bought Star Wars yet.
I just don't get what is their disdain for the hardcore fans while catering to the casual fans, that don't really give a crap.
I still have a glimpse of hope left for good Star Wars but I’ve been waiting for way too long for something good.
Accurate tbh
Andor. No Jedi but it’s written exceptionally well, best of all it doesn’t mess up any of the legacy.
@@Seacai150 I’ll give it a try.
@michaelrust8256 Andor imo is the only good Star Wars content since Disney took over and it seems like they are doubling down with the recent announcements unfortunately:(
@@michaelrust8256 I’m pretty disgusted with everything they have done except andor and rogue one. It adds a lot to the original trilogy without damaging it. The acting is incredible and the story is very solid. The speech luthern gives towards the end is one of the best scenes with dialogue I’ve ever seen in Star Wars. I tell my friends it’s Star Wars for adults. Def not a kids show.
Lucasfilm is trying so hard to make Star Wars in to a Disney princess genre. The sequel trilogy, then this new Rey film with her somehow being a master and teaching some new chosen one that is of course a girl. The Acolyte focusing on female villains. They just need to stop focusing on a demographic that isn't in to this kind of thing while alienated those that are.
Couldn't have said it better myself
@@tommateyak3967 It's just funny to me I've been around women my whole life including my now adult daughter. Women and girls generally don't like things like star wars. Of course some do but not enough to piss off all the guys that are more invested in it. I still remember buying my son a Nubian fighter toy play with and my daughter said "is that a banana car" haha
All of this shit is going to BOMB hard. No one wants any of it.
While Star Wars isn’t dead to me 100% it’s on life support. I sold all my lego sets, action figures, and other collectibles. The only things I’ve kept are my video games and I don’t think I plan on selling them. The first two movies I was happy with but I think like most the last Jedi broke me.
Kriea / Darth Traya = “ Apathy is Death”.
The Yuuzhan Vong from the EU should come down and destroy Disney, allowing Lucas to get his creation back
We're Star Wars fans, not DISNEY Star Wars fans
you* are, don't assume everyone thinks like you, Rookie fan mistake
If this has been filmed and makes it to the screen, Acolyte will be destroyed by women. Disney Enablers.
Wow. Hiring an actor on an English speaking production where English is barely his second language is stunning and Brave. This ain’t Major League Baseball. At least there, a lot of strategy is non-verbal and game strategy translates. Not so much in an environment where English has to be read and understood.
Return of the Jedi was the last film chronologically in the series. Nothing after the Disney acquisition is canon to me.
One of my relatives had a wedding cake shaped in a Lego setting of the Battle of Hoth.
I wonder what they think of how badly Disney mismanaged the Star Wars IP.
They killed Star Wars. I don’t want them to create anything more that is “Star Wars” because it just isn’t anymore.
No. Original content still exists and will exists. Ignore new released stuff if you don't like it. Nobody killed nothing. They added more stuff (the fact that you don't like it is another thing).
@@kerolokerokeroloI agree with you here. If you don't like the new stuff, just ignore it. The originals still exist. I hate new Star Wars, but if someone else likes it - have at it.
@@kerolokerokerolo lol you sound butt hurt that I have an opinion contrary to yours 😂 slow your roll bucko
It actually hurts and kills me but I have gone nearly a year without buying starwars merchandise. it's been my hobby since I was 9 when i watched the original trilogy but i will not give disney my money. it's amazing how I wanted more starwars but now I just want it to stop
You want to know what's wrong with the Acolyte? Someone leaked the sales numbers of the High Republic books - I wouldn't want to make a TV show based on something that's sold that frw books either.
Hate to say this, but Even if Darth Kennedy is overthrown, the damage She and Lucasfilm have done to the Star Wars IP is so bad no one can save it. Not even George Himself. That’s my $0.02
I’m still waiting for Waititi, I mean David Cohen to bring Portman to Star Wars……..
I hope it does get released so that WorldClassBullshitters and Doomcock and WDW Pro and...well, everyone can make content on it and get more fans to their other content as a result.
The Acolyte was announced at least 2 years if not more before Ahsoka was announced and yet Ahsoka is done, tralers released, and a set air date......................I am leaning towards acolyte never sees the light of day & just hasn't been officially buried in the Disney vault yet
Writer strike leaves them short on content. If this thing is done filming - they have to use it. It doesnt matter if it is terrible.
I have learned to pass on ALL productions that have Kathleen Kennedys name on it.
Pasha said the entire time SOMETHING was filmed, they were doing something, but it wasnt a whole show. More of a promo reel they were using to get more funding, which they got twice before, but were denied now, thus the cancelation.
I think the term used was "sizzle reel".
Unironically, I've had more fun reading star wars fan fiction than watching "canon".
Maybe not cancelled but number of episodes cut in half just like that Witcher prequel series?
There's a lot of crazy stories surrounding the Acolyte. Nothing of the story has been leaked. But lots of drama over a show that may not be real. Kamron Pasha says a sizzle real is the only thing filmed. Hedland is out. Karen McCarthy, a producer was hired and fired on badfaith. She sued Disney. Perhaps she discovered the show is a sham. According to Doomcook, $312 million has been spent! Iger knows McCarthy and wants a full accounting of Lucasfilm. Hard to believe filming is complete. Actors lying??? What's going on here!
I only accept Legends as Canon and pieces of Disney Stars Wars.
After Not Indiana Jones and the Dial of Diversity I would be surprised if Mangold’s Star Wars movie actually happens
Dude! It just occured to me Lesli Hedlund looks like M.O.D.O.K. from Marvel Comics.
Headland doesn't work for Lucas Film / Disney, so how can she be fired.
I hope Disney makes The Acolyte and any other bad idea they've got up their sleeves. It's guaranteed to flop and they continue to hemorrhage billions of dollars.
What does Disney have against the Jedi I wonder? Are they actually the Sith?
Jedi fight a good fight for everyone while writers only want minorities to be right
Yes and KK is a Sith emperor
Actually, Siths are forcing Disney to make bad movies with ESG standards and they also own good chunk of disney shares
Disney are just really mediocre gay activists. Let’s not give them any respect.
I'm only aware of Star Wars I thru VI. I didn't realise they'd made sequels.
Yeah. They threw out George's script and the EU and made a souless gender swapped version of the original trilogy.
I like your recent Big Poppa Pump reference;
“It’s spells Disaster…”
I would rather eat lead paint chips than watch anything Disney Star Wars that isn’t controlled by Filoni.
At this point, I’m not even sure about watching anything by Filoni. He sold out to the Dark Side.
I used to be inspired by Luke Skywalker, and sure the OG Trilogy and EU will always be a thing for me, but he's been replaced by Link. I appreciate his stoicism.
Lucasfilm and Disney……meh. I’m not interested in anything they do now.
"LET IT DIE, KILL IT IF YOU HAVE"- KYLO REN
At this point the only thing I care about associated with Marvel Star Wars and anything else Disney are the UA-cam reviews tearing them apart.
The Book of Boba Fett was awesome. I did feel that the ending battle should have had giant armies fighting, not a few characters.
I'm not mad, I just have the popcorn ready to eat while I watch this dumpster fire burn.
“Fans are sick of bad content from Disney”? Apart from two seasons of The Mandalorian has there been good content?
So does Kathleen Kennedy have photos of Iger with kids or farm animals?
Rebels was good
8:44 my man I look forward to seeing fan made Star Wars on UA-cam the new crown Disney provides
They should make the entire sequel non canon
One actor says that filming is complete and then last week it is announced that a new trans actor was hired for the first season of the same show. So they must be adding new characters in reshoots or something. Either way since it's Lucas Film it will be late and way over budget.
What if someone just made a fan-made comic? Like Mace Windu or Anakin's Training. I would love to see Luke's academy or Kinghts of Ren.
Long live the Star Wars Holiday Special
as much as i want to believe this is true, Doomcock's a rumor-monger and i have a hard time believing anything he says is true because he's been wrong so many times in the past.
its hard because he gets some stuff right. I will see what he has to say, but not always take it seriuos
$5,000 for two nights!? ...I have 20,000 republic dataries.
Im excited because it’s a different time period. I’ll give it a shot. I like the high republic books.
I have nothing but apathy towards star wars at this point. I had no desire to watch mando season 3, I'm cautiously optimistic about Ahsoka but only because I loved rebels. Zero interest in the acolyte, I also don't have time for crap star wars.
Ashoka looks pretty bad.
remember that disney thinks stealing things is called “capitalism.” Play by their rules.
@@russ254 Ahoy, matie. There be pirates patrollin' these waters! 😆
Headland is not a Lucasfilm employee, hence she couldn't be fired. The Acolyte was not cancelled, it will be released on Disney+ sometime in 2024.
Hell I haven't seen anything new in English for the last 3 years. All my purchases have been Korean and Japanese TV Shows. They do some of the best Historical Dramas in the world.
Disney your tears are delicious
There is so much new star wars content that it is hard to track it, enjoy it, let your brain digest it and get invested in it. And the content is not even worth it, It's recycled. I am 33, grew up with prequels, spent my childhood gaming dark forces and Jedi Knight. Those had soul. I saw last Jedi with my best friend and it broke us. We didn't go to see the rise of Palpatine after that... Mandalorian finale with Luke was bombastic but didn't change my attitude towards new content. I admit, that Andor, Rogue one and even Solo are not that bad. I enjoyed those.
Star Wars Detours. Glad it was stopped early
I skipped Obi One, i can skip this one too
All you had to do was adapt the highly praised comic books, that was it, you never even had to use your brain. This was the easiest task imaginable.
They had enough material from the good comic book stories and the works by Timothy Zahn to have had 5 or 6 projects going simultaneously and had 2 blockbuster releases a year. Instead, they went with really bad fanfic and self-inserts.
even if they put it on Disney+, it will very shortly get removed to take the tax break on the $300 million loss
They spent 300millions on one season. They arent canning it unless its written off for taxes. Thats the only thing that will end it.
It doesn't matter 😂 I just look forward to the UA-cam content now
They can save the franchise by making Ezra Miller the star of the Acolyte! He did such an excellent job in the Flash that Michael Keaton's fingers still smell like Ezra Miller's flaming Bung Hole every time he sniffs them
