    That starry night is gonna be a beautiful fish when it grows out. I usually only go to the fish store once a month because I can’t trust myself. Lol

      Based on the price they were asking, they must be very rare. It's the first one I've ever seen.

    Ben,
    Love the video sir. I have that problem to when I go to the local fish store seems 100 bucks is the norm or close to it. I have a AC heckali and a geophagus steindachi growing out in my 20 gal right now. They seem to be slow growers but they are going to be In there until they put on some size.

    I like to buy more than one to increase my odds of getting a nice male or pair. These fish are stunners when they are mature. The polleni tend to have small fine spots, whereas the former bleekeri have larger spots. I believe those got reclassified as polleni, but with a different locality name. I think there are few different localities now.

    Nice pick up Ben, one of my favorites 🤩
    But i gotta say, as a business owner myself i am 100% in business to make money…However $200 bucks for a Tiger Severum that size is highway robbery….$75 at most for a Tiger that size and that’s on the high end….$200 is Discus territory, which is common these days depending on size and quality…
    jeeez I hate to ask what they wanted for the Sveni Geos 🤯

    That's awesome. That sevrum was expensive. Geez I bought 3 full size for 40 bucks each. Congrats on the starry night. I have 2 medium sized ones. I'm impatient on them growing. I want them to get full size as soon as possible. Lol. I also drove an hr away couple weeks ago and picked up a full grown bala shark. I'm using cyclid trace now after water changes now. Just tried switching from prime to seachem safe last night. So far so good. I never thought I would care about fish. It's funny, cuz I have fishing but I like fish tanks. Lol

      That SAFE last forever. Like a 1/4 teaspoon treats my entire 300.

      @BenOchart so with that in mind what's your opinion of this? That much works for a water change but 1/4th for a 75g ratio works for ammonia? I like how prime does both. I currently haveva 75g so I did the 1/4th. Is it best to stick to the 1/4th per 75g ratio? I'm still trying to believe myself that an amount that small works. Lol. I'm used to using so much more liquid. And when it says it can be dosed 4 times the base dose. I assume it means 4 times the per 300g measure and not 4 times the 75g measure? And if someone cleans their filters that week and wants to protect against any possible ammonia spikes, can it be used daily like prime?

    Ben, did you ever dabble in fancytail Guppies? I have a small 20 gal long that I've been breeding them in and my plan was to put the males in my 90 gal nano tank to add color to the top part of the tank. I've gotten a handful in recent months, but thinking about the generations to come and the inbreeding complications. Question: if you have kept guppies in the past was it much profitable for you? Otherwise, great video, Im blackbeard algae free now (in that same 90 gal) and happy, and enjoying each of your postings.. Hope the new fish addition goes well! Interesting that you bought the most agressive one! Code word for healthiest?? Take care

    • @BenOchart
      @BenOchart  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes, I want a fish with some attitude and swagger. Regarding guppies, I've owned them but never got to a point where I would have enough fry to sell or consider myself a breeder.

    Hey Ben, I missed the live stream. Hope all went well. Where's the Talapia going to permanently go?

    • @BenOchart
      @BenOchart  2 місяці тому +1

      That's to be determined. I've seen them living with both SA and African cichlids. I'll try him in one and if it doesn't work, I'll try the other. At first, after quarantine, he'll go into the 90 to put on size. Hopefully he will not nip the other fish.
