I have a fish that looks like a flowerhorn but I don't think it is, it has a black line down it's middle I don't know or remember buying it but don't remember it!!!
This was very helpful.... my dad was starting his first 55 gal community tank and they recommended a cichlid, a reedfish, zebra danios, mollies, whiptail catfish, and a pleco..... fish kept disappearing and one night I caught the reedfish swallowing a danio... I immediately separated the reedfish from the tank, but the cichlid kept picking on the whiptail. I ended up doing my own research instead of going off what the local fish store said to me and have 4 more tanks now... Everyone is happy. Sadly had to rehome the reedfish because he had a vengeance towards everyone... but i learned my lesson that in this hobby, you should really research, and not let the fish stores sell you into something else.
@@L_ZILLA fr. Do a couple hours of research and you already know more than the "experts"... good example, petsmart employee told me i could keep tiger barbs with fancy goldfish.... 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️

We had an Oscar years ago. Beautiful fish with a big personality, grew to about 12 inches eating frozen brine shrimp or goldfish. Loved to get his head scratched by me or my brother and enjoyed endlessly redecorating his tank, but absolutely hated my father. If my dad made the mistake of sitting at the end of the couch close to the tank, the fish would go nuts attacking the glass and splashing water out of the tank until he moved.
In my experience, Cichlids are its own category of fish that should only be kept with others in the same category. You can have plenty of cichlid species in the same tank and they will get along, ....in the way Ciclids get along. They will claim parts of the tank for themselves and there will be a constant power struggle to defend them. Compartmentalizing the tank by building caves out of rocks and plants, at different levels is a great way to maximize the number of desirable territories. All you have to consider is, in nature how many fish would thrive in an area the size of your tank? Cichlids thus need LARGE tanks. Then you can have tens of them, and they will fight each other and chase each other, and do things that cichlids do. They will be very active, and the stress on them with be the healthy kind.
Large tank and not a few of them but tons of them. Sensory overload, They can't figure out which one to take out their aggression on. So you are left with a swarm of angry fish not knowing who to go off on.
Nope. There are community cichlids, e.g. P. pulcher from Africa and some of the other African Riverine dwarf cichlids, South American Dwarf cichlids (Rams and Apistos). These are peaceful as long as they aren't breeding. If they are breeding a large enough tank with space for the dither fish to escape the breeding pair can normally work just fine. For some species its recommended to keep them with tough dither fish to breed so that the aggression isn't focused on the breeding partner.
Just took back a Platy that began terrorizing my tank. Called the store and asked if they'll take a fish I can't keep anymore. They said sure and asked what it was. Just silence on the other end when I said very aggressive Platy
@@nickdubbin2636 my friend has a tank with a single male guppy. When she brought it, she got a group (males and females) and we now think he killed all the other guppies (or at least harassed them til the stress killed them). He now sizes up against the male mollie and tries to breed with the female mollie.
I'm new to the fish keeping community, and I've started my research for community fish because I want to have a nice fun aquarium. So your videos are SUPER helpful in making sure I'm ready and prepared for my first step
Oh my goodness! I'm gonna need Lisa, to imitate all fish featured, from this point out, like she did the tiger barbs, I actually LOL'd... and more special reports from Jay, are also preferred! That was such a good video!
I'm anti-flowerhorn only because I think it's sad to keep a fish in a glass box with nothing and nobody and calling it "An Ideal Environment" Species that are like that, shouldn't be kept in my opinion.
That's my gripe with them as well; they have to spend their life in what is basically a sensory deprivation chamber, contact to the fish keeper aside, to prevent them from destroying their habitat.
@@thrushhattstewohlgern5006 they have no idea they're in solitary confinement. That's all they have ever known. I'm pretty sure the fish would rather live in an empty box rather than not live at all.
I have a young flowerhorn and his tank has sand, wood, plants a few hides I dont like complete empty tanks and he swims around happily and doesnt destroy anything or hasnt yet lol
When I first got into fishkeeping, I had a massive community tank that I decided to add a small school of Tiger Barbs, and they were great for the first few months, than all but one died off. I was going to replenish the school, until I observed the lone barb swimming with my large school of Serpae Tetra. That little school of fish ended up being my most successful, and added an oddball school to a tank of oddballs.
I totally laughed when you said some fish don't comply with the rules. My first Convict Cichlid was a sweetheart who got along well with all the other fish that shared her tank (yes, definite female). She had angelfish, swordtail, tiger barbs, bronze cories, and a red-tailed shark as part of her 125g community. No issues at all. I didn't realize until I got another Convict YEARS later that she wasn't the "norm" for her species. The male I ended up getting was a serial killer I named Jeffrey. I ended up having to keep him by himself for the rest of his life, once I figured out what was happening to the other fish who were disappearing.
I have found that it helps a lot and can even eliminate problems when the tank is large enough, not overstocked and has plenty of hiding places. The bigger a tank the better.
Tiger barbs are so great in a large school. They school tight and get such striking colors. I've never had problems with them if they aren't enticed by long flowing fins. I've kept them in schools of about 15 in a 75 with South Americans. My current tank I've went with harlequin rasboras because I wanted a few angel fish.
Dude, i just recently started my own tropical tank. I loove your channel, you and the wife make it nice and funny to watch while giving a lot of usefull info. I build my tropical setup so far using advice i have gotten from you guys. You guys are great!
I had a dwarf gourami. I was told they were peaceful and great community fish. Yeah, mine ate/terrorized all of my cardinal tetras and chased my (very peaceful) angelfish until he died. He has since been rehomed and now I have a sweet female pearl gourami and a bunch of black neon tetras
I went for honey gouramis for this reason, What do you think of black neon tetras, I have some and they are fantastic, they are unpopular and underrated in my opinion.
Like nick mentioned, honey gourami might be the way to go then. I've not had dwarf gouramis be aggressive, but I did just have to swap out some blue (regular) gouramis that were food aggressive. Disappointed, but it was best for them and my existing fish
I've kept dwarf gouramis for years and years and while I've had some that are quite peaceful, most were aggressive. However, I've found they keep this aggression amongst themselves if they are with a group of their own kind. If there are more than 2, the aggression rarely results in serious damage. When keeping them in a tank with no others of their own species, they'll find a way to vent their aggression, usually on other fish. (Though I did have one that would fight his own reflection instead, lol!)
@@Alec2cool as much as I love gouramis, they can certainly be finicky when it comes to getting peaceful ones vs aggressive ones. Sometimes it's best to watch them in the store for a bit to see if any unwanted behavior stands out to you that you think might be detrimental to your existing tank. But again, I agree. Hit or miss on getting peaceful vs aggressive in this breed
@@TonyVainosky try the honey gouramis, I can't keep German blue rams because of hard water so settled with honey gouramis, they are super peaceful, ive had them 6 months and I've seen zero aggression towards each other or another fish.
I have a 90 gallon community tank. I have regular and albino tiger barbs. A red tail shark, giant danios, rosy barbs, red serpae, red eyed tetra, two gold gourami and one 3 spot gourami. I have no aggression issues except the red tail gets a little chippy around feeding time but that's it. You have to know when to introduce your fish to the tank and make sure you keep a proper school. Also people need to understand that heavily planted tanks with plenty of hiding spots and caves also help with aggressive behavior and fin nipping. I think the problem is that people don't properly research the fish and behaviors of the fish before just throwing them in a tank. Best advice I can give is, DO YOUR RESEARCH! Understand the size the fish can grow to and understand their behaviors before you throw fish together.
Absolutely love our flowerhorn! Decorations is few, big heavy ornaments or big decorative rocks. His name is sir munson, and hes the biggest baby ever! Love getting pets and attention. But if I am late feeding him or moving things around, he will throw a temper tantrum. He whips up his sand substrate and bye bye crystal clear water. It is alot of maintenance for one fish, but when we walk into the livingroom he will swim to the one side and greet us. Definitely the best water dog!
Have you ever tried any tank mates? I just bought one recently about 2.5 inches and want to introduce a tank make when he’s young to try and get him used to having another fish or two with him.
Had a goldfish that chose violence everyday, we thought fish were dying randomly until one day we copped 10+ don’t die randomly so we watched the tank for an hour. The then separated goldfish would attack his reflection and was a generally angry fish hahaha
I couldn't agree more about the Tiger Barbs. But I love them so much that I dedicated my 55 gallon to a school of them! I also have a red tail shark that bullied everything in my 125, so I put him in with the Tiger Barbs. He's a big chicken now! LOL!!!!
If someone is looking for a good replacement for clown loaches for a smaller aquarium I recommend gold zebra loaches. They're a bit harder to find though. Yoyo loaches are also good but they can chase other fish around. They're not usually super mean though.
I grew up raising convicts. Love those fish. Soon as I get another big tank, that’s what’s going on there. Yes they breed a lot used to have to isolate the mom. Also had Red Devils don’t see them around much anymore.
Love my oscars my largest will even take food from my hand and they have great personalities. I’ve got them in a 125 for now. Some Good footage of your 360 love the new bikers. I’m all ready on the look out for a bigger tank for them. After watching this tank in many videos it was one of the reason I got Oscars they are awesome. That news man was sure funny 😆
i wanted to go for tiger barbs, but info about them changed my mind, but went for the more peaceful type five banded false barbs got a group of 14. False Barb is an active fish with a peaceful temperament and stunning colouration. Should be kept in a shoal of 6 or more. If kept in small numbers, their fin nipping behavior can become evident. so far happy with them, but they still 1/3 of the full size and they seem not to bother other fish, i just hope they grow fast as my other fish as might become dinner if grow slower than my nyassa catfish. both full size then they be ok but not if catfish grows at a faster rate to full size but i do have a spare tank if ever need till they have fully grown
I have a Reticulated Hillstream Loach in my 20 gallon long tank with 7 Black Skirt Tetras. I've heard that this Loach is chill and gets along with almost any other fish, but mine is super territorial. He chases the Tetras around there tank all day long! Just proves the point that you can never tell.
I got a betta, cichlid, and gourami that all get along. Had them since they are small and in my experience that’s how I get them to get along. I even had baby cpd and chillies and they all cool I have a few leopard danios and cherry barbs all in my 55. Have them small and watch them grow together, they do have some fighting tendencies at times for the aggressive ones but they stop after a little chase mainly cause of territory but besides that not deaths or fin rot or anything and I’m very impressed and happy.
Funny story, I was gifted a "fair fish" years ago and had to act fast. My new goldfish from the fair went into one of the 10 gallons I had set up. When he hadn't died after a couple of months, I added a couple more goldfish, one black and the other a fantail. The other fish in this 10 gallon were angelfish. Yes, angelfish. When my local fish store owner heard about this, she was livid and incredulous. My grandmother who'd owned a tropical and freshwater store for years didn't believe me until she saw them. They loved each other. They played together. But with all the criticism, I decided to separate them. I put the 4 angels in a new 10 gallon set up next to the goldfish. Each group ended up staying at the end of the tank so that they were still as close to each other as possible. They actually missed each other! I ended up putting them back together and they were happy again.
@@Pocketlintdreads I had happy fish. I'm older and wiser than you with way more experience, so not gonna take criticism from someone who says "bruh" or "brah" or any of that drivel.
I've really enjoyed watching. Thank you for accepting my request to join. Both of you I find very educational. There is some amazing humor also. Thank you,
Agree on the angels! Mine (3 month old siblings when I got then) became very aggressive and they weren't even quite yet breeding age! They turn sideways right before striking and always went after my smallest rasbora - jerks!
I had a tiger barb when I was 10. Pet store talked me out of a Betta, which I never had a problem with. Their belief was Bettas don't get along with other fish, and other fish don't get along with them. Store sold me a tiger barb though. Just one. It was a perfect recipe for disaster. 10 gallon tank with an angel and tetras and one cory cat. Tiger nipped tetra's tails to the quick and chewed off angel's rudder fin. Poor angel moved around like the Bismarck. I didn't flush him, just exchanged him for some glow light tetras. Month later I went to buy more fish and another clerk said to stay away from tigers as they are killers. I haven't had any since. I stick to cherry barbs. Gold barbs okay, but I had a group of 7 who displayed pack like behavior and were very aggressive eaters. I have had a few three spotted gourami's. First was a female, and two female angels chased her quite a bit. Later, I had a male and female three spotted, and the male was aggressive toward other fish. He didn't hurt anyone but loved to corral rainbows into bottom corner of aquarium. I would put him in a 10 gallon time out tank. Female died some time later, and he settled down after that.
Enlightening..chiclids were ti stressful for me lol..i traded them in at a loss for neons n glie tetra's n i added female betta's n cory cats in my 56 gal..very happy with my tank now..thanks for sharing
tiger barbs, neon tetras, breeding kribensis, rainbow shark, golden gourami, vampire shrimp, bamboo shrimp and one big ol' mystery snail named gary. favorite tank honestly
You forgot the biggest drawback to Clown Loaches - they usually carry Ich. which they aren't affected by so you have to start off with them in a tank alone and treat them with Ich. med.s, possibly more than one round, before adding them to your tank- was intending to put 3 in my 55 gal. then trade them in at a local fish store that does that - don't remember if it was cash, store credit, or a mix of both deal. Do places still do deals like that? Or is it only one-to-one private sales these days?
Quick question restarting my freshwater aquarium. Washed all items. Should I use regular tap water or buy preconditioned water to fill tank. 20gallon glowfish tank.
Great advice. When I was starting out as a kid with aquariums, I had some little timid fish and I threw in an mbuna African chichild into my 20g tank. No one told me what was going to happen. That fish killed everyone in the tank. I wasn't mad. As a kid, I thought it was cool how aggressive a fish can be. Yes I know, it sounds horrible, but I was just a kid. I bought more mbunas and they even started breathing. Fast forward to present day. Now I still keep mbunas, but just that fish and no one else😂😅 at 47 years old. Salt water clown fish are mean to my hand. But that's another story 😂. I have those in another tank in my house 😅
I love tiger barbs. So once I bought four tiger barbs, two pairs. One of them died shortly after. I was left with one alfa male and other male and female. Now, this alfa male bullied the other fish to death and when he remained alone in the tank, he commited suicide by jumping from the tank. I still love tiger barbs but this was disturbing experience.
I'm surprised there's no Betta on that list :) I mean there are fish they do well with (eg. small tetras), although some would argue they are most happy alone. The problem is lot of fish would pick on them and I heard Betta would attack Ramirezi cichlids.
My meanest fish I had ever had was my Malawi cichlids. I was pretty new to having fish when I started many years ago, so I made the mistake to mix my Malawi with other fish and lots of beautiful akvarium plants. They eliminate all other fish and all the plants. My akvarium was a war zone. It was a huge tank, so they had lots of room and hiding places. But it was a war zone. I started with 6 malawi cichlids and at the ends I had over 2000 malawi in 7 tanks. The main 6 and 6 other stayed in the main tank. But evey time I had my hand in the tank for cleaning and redecorating, they all swam in my hand so they could be petted. I could take them out of the tank and give them a kiss and let them down in the tank again and they keep swimming in my hands. Cleaning the tank was a nightmare since they wouldn't let me work... but they were my babies. When we had visitors and guests over.... no one could se any fish in those 7 tanks. They all hided behind the rocks. As soon as our guests leave and went home... all the fish were out and act normal again.
I've had a school of tiger barbs with a rotating cast as they die and I get new ones for years. I've never had issues with them nipping other fish. I have them in with parrot cichlids, clown loaches, and blue gourami currently, no aggression, the loaches and barbs school together.
When I was a kid, my parents referred to our jewel cichlids as "Big Hard Headed Fish" because they were so mean to all of the other fish in the tank (except for the pleco)
140 gallon with a Fluval fx6, Aquatop surface skimmer, fx2 with inline UV and planted. 6 discus, 12 neon tetras, 12 rummynose, 6 rose line sharks 4 panda Corydoras. 50% water change every Friday.
I’ve been extremely lucky with some rather risky community tanks. I didn’t know they were risky at the time. And I guess the fish didn’t either. In a 45, I had a common Pleco, 3 Jack Dempsey, 2 common angelfish, a Kuhli Loach, a fantail goldfish, a Pictus catfish, 4 wild black snails, five fancy guppies and a blue/black male Betta. They all got along perfectly well for years and years. Maybe fish were just more friendly in the 90s? LOL.
I have two different tanks with good-sized schools of tiger barbs in each (16 and 18 fish, respectively). I have no problem with them bullying other fish at all and there is minimal infighting. The red tailed shark in one tank chases them around at feeding time though, but that is the extent of it. I believe the trick with tiger barbs is having big schools of them.
I always thought Convict Cichlids were named that because in the old days, people in jail - aka convicts, were clothed in black and white striped clothes.
Had a tiger barb years ago in hawaii that used to chase...harrass the others in a community tank. Roommate would net it and cut half its tail off. Worked for a while until the tail grew back. Rinse and repeat the cycle...barb would hide any time net in the water. Neon tetras in that tank would jostle each other too.
Tiger Barb aggression can often be attributed to 1. Too small of a tank. 2. Too small of a school. Keep them in a 30 gallon or larger tank and in groups of 8 or more (12 or more is better) and you will find that their "aggression" will be significantly reduced. Unless you're foolish enough to put guppies, swordtails, or a Betta in the tank with them.
Oh no… literally bought all the worst fish for a 35 gallon community tank 🤦🏻♀️ my tank cycled for 3 weeks before I bought my first fish. I knew I wanted a pleco. I know, I know… but I knew I’d have time before he grew big. Next my LFS suggested peppered corys. So I bought four. Then I went to PetSmart to get a middle to top tank swimmer. Out of obsession I got a tiny tiger Oscar, knowing I’d be getting a big tank soon too. While there there were two clown loaches that looked like they were dying and I felt bad so I bought them. (Fun fact: they were sleeping). Then an albino pleco, live plants and a few mystery snails. I know what you’re thinking… that’s a lot of fish, but I have 2, 40g filters with ceramic cylinders, foam and marineland filter. I also test my water every couple days and do 25% water changes every Sunday. My Oscar is a puppy, for now. He does go after my pleco occasionally, but it’s territory. The pleco is bigger and just goes to his hiding places. At any rate… I appreciate your videos so much my next purchase is a 125g which is a HUGE jump, but it’s my fault for not doing my proper research. And I’m excited to find out my loaches will get HUGE. I love cute tiny fish, but I love vibrant beautiful large fish. Im so happy I found your channel because I was feeding my Oscar live fish (guppy) and ghost shrimp because it’s what blogs and LFS suggested. I have learned so much about what good things to feed my fish from these videos and I greatly appreciate all the knowledge
I love my tiger barbs. I have 15 of them.I keep them with roseline sharks, 2 pea puffers, 2 small pleco species, and mystery snails (plus ramshorn and pond snails for the peas to eat). You just have to select their tank mates carefully.
A lot of people don't realize how big Angel fish can get. I have a pair in a 180 gallon tank that I kept with an orange pike, some VERY large Pacu and a few other misc. fish and those Angels were just as mean as the pike. They were a good 5-6" diameter. Great fish
Back in the day you throw fish into the tank and they best get on..🤨🤨..we took in a miss treated Oscar..the guy delivering it put it in the wrong tank and he had a great time eating everything..but over time he grow to love my dad so much he waited for my dad to feed him every evening..we had to put him in our community tank one day..we only had a few guppies mollies etc in there with a lot of plant cover..and he just never came out..we added a few more fish over time no problem..back then we had mostly pond plants in the tank ..it was very much a jungle..when we moved we had trouble keeping him in the tank because of the cat..long story..so my friend took him to the Zoo to live in the fish room there..the kids loved him because he would eat out their hand..
I love Tiger Barbs, one of the few fish I’ve found that can handle living with a dominant Red Tailed Black Shark. I’m quite happy they’re one of the most common fish I get asked to rehome ahaha
I have 2 angelfish in my tank with other fish and one of them is a bully. He basically picked a corner in the tank as his territory and doesn't let any other fish. The only one allowed is the other angelfish who is actually much more friendly
John, I don't know if you have kept convicts in mass, but I have found that they behave similar to African Cichlids. Two is trouble but with 20, there is almost no drama. That was my experience anyway. Small sample size given it only happened the once, but it was over several years.
I have a Texas green female cichlid who got separated from a tank of 2 Oscars and a black shark because she was ripping the scales of the Oscars suddenly after 6months. Now she is in a 250L community tank with 3 gourami, 20 endlers, 1 Siamese alge and 4 cherry barbs. So far 4 months later everyone seems happy, only the gourami chase eachother.
I have 4 tiger barbs in a 10 gal. With 2 long fin danios, fairly large pleco now, a honey gourami and a blue paradise gourami...they don't "nibble" at the others' fins. Plus I have ramshorn snails and Malaysian trumpet snails, and 3 mystery snails. My regime is feed them 1st thing in the morning [about 7 am] (2 pinches of flake food), and a pinch at night [about 7 pm] (1 pinch)
I adore my clown loaches but i bought my 150 gallon tank just for my school of 25 clown loaches. They are super happy averaging 5" biggest is 9" i have a 210 gallon if they ever out grow the current one. They are always out and super happy in the big groups they are my favorite fish by far!
@9:15 you mislabeled the name of the fish as a Tiger Barb and talked about angel fish. Been a little while since the upload, but I figured I'd say something if you're at all concerned about it. Love the channel and the info/support you guys give. Thanks for the content

My betta LOVES his Yo-yo Loach buddies & the reason I got loaches was from one of your videos I was so scared he’d be aggressive but turns out he’s a sweet boy 😂
I never had ossies with tiger barbs. I always lept at least 6 in a 15G tank with other community fish, such as loaches, gouramis, raspboras, and danios, as well as badis badis.
In case nobody else has pointed this out yet, there's an error in your video when you start talking about angel fish. You labeled them as tiger barbs in the text overlay. Love the video, though!
hey guys, i have a tiger barb that got bullied in other tanks to the point it almost died, i rescued it, put it in my only tank i had at that time with shubunkins that i rescued, within a month all its fins have grown back and its really friendly towards all of my fish infact the only thing it attacks is me when i change the layout of the tank, it lives to be on patrol
Hi Jon, ahhhhh, you just burst my bubble! I LOVE Clown Loaches, and I have had them before. We had 2 in a 125 gal tank for years------ and when we got divorced, he wanted the 125 gal along with the "Clown Knives" (not the loaches) but I refused!! Anyway, the Clown loaches didn't grow up to 1 ft. I now have a 40 gal long breeder tank and I want to try Clown Loaches--- if they do get really big, I will buy q bigger tank. 😂 Shhhhh don't tell my Daughter 😂 yeah, I AM A crazy woman !
5:10 I've had good (and bad) results with tiger barbs. The difference is following the rules, when it comes to number kept, and ratio of males to females. I'll let you Google it for yourself.😊
So true I thought of a guppy immediately even though my guppies do fight from time to time. They are usually pretty nice, but my biggest mama is very terrorital over food and she will hog a bunch of it especially if it's near the filter/heater. That's her spot 😂 she seems to be the dominant one in the group.

Loved to get his head scratched by me or my brother and enjoyed endlessly redecorating his tank, but absolutely hated my father. If my dad made the mistake of sitting at the end of the couch close to the tank, the fish would go nuts attacking the glass and splashing water out of the tank until he moved.

Large tank and not a few of them but tons of them. Sensory overload, They can't figure out which one to take out their aggression on. So you are left with a swarm of angry fish not knowing who to go off on.
I have tiger barbs with my African Cichlids and it works fine for me
Love, love, love the News segment - I had 5 tiger barbs years ago, and yep, they were fin nippers- Really good information. Thanks, John and Lisa💕👍
Just gonna say that you have 200 tanks dedicated to single fish hahahhaha. Every betta tank. Love the video.
they literally have a betta sorority
You're right about there being exceptions to every rule. I have a longfin zebra danio who is hyper-aggressive toward all other fish. 😬
Dude I had a super aggressive mean female guppy, a non aggressive very annoyed pleco killed it.
Never seen it before and haven't seen it again.
Just took back a Platy that began terrorizing my tank. Called the store and asked if they'll take a fish I can't keep anymore. They said sure and asked what it was. Just silence on the other end when I said very aggressive Platy
Try to add more danios. Less aggressive with least 3 4
@@anthonyesposito174 It was in a school of danios to begin with, starting bullying them first. Then it started bullying my livebearers.
So your videos are SUPER helpful in making sure I'm ready and prepared for my first step
if you want to start with african chiclids start with mbunas is you want betta fish get a 10 or 20 gallon tank with some kolhu loaches

OMG I LOVE the special news report!!! That was so funny 🤣🤣 Great info- thank you!
Thank you so much.
Flowerhorns have never seen the wild so a glass box is kinda their "ideal environment" in a sense
I agree with you they don't look like they're very happy
I have tiger barbs with sumo loaches, zebra danios, and pea puffers. They all stick to their areas and groups for me.
That’s a good combination tbh both pea puffers and barbs will stick up for themselves and the loaches are bottom feeders so they won’t get messed with
Woow cool selection
@@keith5524 and the danio just chase each other around the top-mid
@@the2d exactly bro it’s perfect gonna have to copy your set up lol
Tiger barbs are so great in a large school. They school tight and get such striking colors. I've never had problems with them if they aren't enticed by long flowing fins. I've kept them in schools of about 15 in a 75 with South Americans. My current tank I've went with harlequin rasboras because I wanted a few angel fish.
it's all about using the word "mean" when they are actually *aggressive* because hungry, territoial, protecting their offspring etc...
Wow. I've been keeping fish for over 60 years and never heard of mbunas. Never too late to learn! BTW, this list is spot pot on.
I went for honey gouramis for this reason,
What do you think of black neon tetras, I have some and they are fantastic, they are unpopular and underrated in my opinion.
Is it weird that I think it makes a nice change to have a list of worst things...?
Lol interesting, gigachad gold fish

agreed, that was quite unexpected and funny.
Glad I found this channel, very entertaining and informative. The lady should do a vid about her houseplants, they're beautiful!
Your guys are hands down my favorite fish couple in all of UA-cam. I watch your videos every day at this point for new information
Thank you!
I grew up raising convicts. Love those fish. Soon as I get another big tank, that’s what’s going on there. Yes they breed a lot used to have to isolate the mom. Also had Red Devils don’t see them around much anymore.
"Those oscars are gonna be a foot long, and those tetras are gonna be about two inches."
Honestly, that's *if* the tetras even live that long!
They should live 3 to 5 years.

I love the Tiger albinos
i wanted to go for tiger barbs, but info about them changed my mind, but went for the more peaceful type five banded false barbs got a group of 14.
Clown loaches grow super slow so 55-75 will do for a pretty good time

This.... this is video every fish keeper needs to watch!
Mine is she same way! I’ve read that the males can be territorial. Mine only goes after my newer corys I just added
This list is on point. Great video!!
The only thing I don't like with your videos, is that they have to end. Asking for a 24/7 live stream 🤣💕
No kidding.
Bruh you overstock so much do research smh
@@Pocketlintdreads I had happy fish. I'm older and wiser than you with way more experience, so not gonna take criticism from someone who says "bruh" or "brah" or any of that drivel.
Yes but you overstocked a 10 gallon. I’d have turned you away from a fish sale in an instant.
Love the video! The new format is super cool, great idea Lisa 😊
Very clear precise information...Salute!
tiger barbs, neon tetras, breeding kribensis, rainbow shark, golden gourami, vampire shrimp, bamboo shrimp and one big ol' mystery snail named gary. favorite tank honestly
Great video! I will put a betta male with goldfish, pufferfish, and angelfish, since they weren't in the video!!
Ahh, a KGT video in the morning 🌄! Today's already a good day
I'm surprised there's no Betta on that list :) I mean there are fish they do well with (eg. small tetras), although some would argue they are most happy alone.
Play the lottery....now.
Love the special report 🤘😆🤘
Me too that guy is funny….
"Circling around people and nibbling on their fingernails" that's too funny hahaha LOL love it!
Great video and I agree with you about your choice of mean fish.
Fun fact- Jewel cichlids are east and west African cichlids like tangs and malawis. A species of Jewels are in a smaller lake not one of the 3 greats
Preach. I had a bristle nose pleco in a massive tank who was the nastiest little guy I've ever seen. Very understocked tank too... little demon!
Thanks guys. Hope you are having fun in Dallas! Fish are like people in more ways than not some are jerks and some are less jerks! lol
I adore my clown loaches but i bought my 150 gallon tank just for my school of 25 clown loaches. They are super happy averaging 5" biggest is 9" i have a 210 gallon if they ever out grow the current one. They are always out and super happy in the big groups they are my favorite fish by far!

I am going to have oscars one day. Just need the space. They (in my opinion) are one of the coolest fish going.
