Always superb, these Four Freshmen! All super-talented, they sing, play instruments, and bring back to us the good old days when music was really MUSIC!
@@gregstegeman7102 Hi there, I am a 25 year old, but I find the Four Freshmen to be one of the greatest groups, ever! I have been coming back to watch this video every so often. I have to ask, what was it like working with Mr. Flanigan? I bet there were many wonderful stories. And also, what are your favorite classic Freshmen tunes?
@@guitaristshawn Hey Pat. If you'll send me your email address, I'll reply to your questions directly and in detail. It would all be too much for UA-cam. Cheers, Greg

From late 1999, broadcast in NYC in 2000. Flanagan's gone now. They started in 1948, Butler Indiana. Kenton came thru one day and eventually got Capitol Records to sign them. Their first hit was a song Capitol thought would flop, it was called It's A Blue World and put the 4 guys on the map in 1952 I believe.
Nunca pensé que a mis 87 años ; volvería a escuchar a ese Cuarteto tan Maravilloso , por donde a través de los años ; se han ido remplazando conservando su Esencia pura del famoso Cuarteto los 4 Caballeros , de Norte América . Brian was just 20 years old here. Worked together for 5 years and were even roommates together during that time. He's probably the most talented guy to ever have been in the group but he eventually went from Men to Boys.
If Taylor S is worth a billion, Maureen and 4F should command 100 times that amount. The problem is unmusical amateur singing assaulting the public with forgettable "original" music. Long live The Great American Songbook (an endangered canon).

It's never gone away for their true fans
Thanks for posting. I wanted to hear an older Flanagan and Barbour before they retired.

Couldn't help noticing your comment. I'm the arranger of "Moonlight in Vermont" and the lead singer. Thanks!
