Saw Animals live last November. Crowd was pretty rowdy. They end a song and the lights go dark. Warm melody starts playing, everyone goes quiet. Then Tosin stands there, covered in white light and Brain Dance comes on. This moment nurishes my soul every since. Thanks Animals.

Daniel Doss Hearing it live sure does! I was able to realise just how much goes into the songs that they make they really are amazing to hear live. You gotta go to one of their shows if you haven't evan as a musician it was a game changer when i felt really down about a lot of stuff it was such a reguvinating experience and only solidified my love for guitar and the kind of musicianship that goes into such an amazing live performance. Every musician should be aiming to play from the soul and be so intuitive and one with their band as if your band is just one entity and not all a seperate enigma. Truly a super group in the music world of prog. metal!

Even though I doubt that anyone I’m Animals As Leaders will see this comment, I just want to say that you guys helped me through a panic I had involving my PTSD, so thank you. In a way Tosin’s solo felt like me calming down and finally realizing that my struggles don’t define me. It’s almost poetic because I guess we could say that it’s like a white light at the end of the tunnel like his guitar. 😅
While I absolutely consider Tosin to be a prodigy in his own right, Javier is a wonderfully-skilled guitarist who is truly trained properly in the art and adds just what AAL needs. Loved seeing them live and can't wait to get Tosin's set list I was lucky enough to get after a show signed one day!
Tosin is doing exactly what comes to his mind. It's natural for him and that's why it looks effortless. He's doing what his gift tells him to do. Javier has to stay true to that style, imitate it, support it. That takes a tremendous amount of knowledge and skill.

These three guys are super on point, able to stay in the pocket and then just soar into the stratosphere. All three of these wonderful first class musicians are absolutely on another level. As great as I think their music is, I think my favorite thing about these guys is watching them actually play the songs. I don't know why, but I find their execution so captivating.

The camera man hate is unreal in this video. The guy is obviously recording this from a audience member perspective. It has a super natural feel to it.
And it's obviously rehearsed. The camera work compliments the music and even takes musical cues for movement. This is clearly the vision for the video. So haters can blame the band. Also, this type of music may seem very disjointed to many who don't listen to the genre. Weird that an audience that appreciates AAL has a problem with a few jumpy camera moves.
Tosin is such an innovator on guitar. His solo style is somewhat reminiscent of Alan Holdsworth. I someone who's been around a while, I can hear the jazz fusion influence on AAS.
Yes, you can see how he is kind of hesitant with the harmony in that fusion-y solo but it is not made entirely of just a bunch of licks put together but rather sounds like he is still practicing his improvisation skills. I love me some good improvised solos
I think he might be the most important guitarist post Holdsworth -- like A.H., his style is utterly original, his harmonic approach completely refreshing, his technique leaves others in his wake.

i actually kinda like the camera work, i can the frets, the strings the fingers are hitting, Matt's leg work, snare, ride, this almost felt like i was there. As a musician my major attention are on the guitars and drum which are placed centrally in the video frame. I don't mind getting there face cut out, least of my concern when i need to decipher those virtuoso play.
I lost all color vision, now I only see 4/4 gray scale! Saw them live in Gävle, in june 2019 together with Tesseract and Dream Theater. Excellent show!
Saw these guys last night at the Leader Pavilion. They were the opening act before Devon Townsend and Dream Theatre. For me, this song was the singular highlight of the night. Spectacular in conception and execution. Spellbinding. Can I have another adjective?? Just listen.

When i first heard it i thought the low notes were played on bass, this video has proven me quite wrong.

if you compare amp and guitar the tone is 90% on your amp but better guitar is more comfortable to play
