This show is a hit, quality TV. I wish it had came sooner. So many emotions watching this.
This test was so absurd to me. They took the word fine dining too literal by focusing on the food only. I cringed at most of the meals as an adult. I could only imagine how terrible it would be for a small child to willingly eat something so bizarre looking. How does this show good parenting? I thought it would be more about how a person behaves in certain settings.
If you watched the entire episode you would see and understand how it can translate to “effective” parenting in many different ways.
@@Intentionaltia I did watch the entire episode. Most of the parents supported their children. They knew they wouldn't eat that food. How did this lead to effective parenting is what I want to know.
Those were very strong flavors for such young children. My two year old ate blue cheese and raw onions, yet I wouldn't have given him more than a 50/50 chance with scallops or mussels.
It's not about liking the food. It's about being willing to experience something new and the parenting necessary to help the kids navigate that new experience. No one can help what they like...but they can help how they handle new experiences. You could replace food with anything new.
@@boadecia1433 The test was so horrible that most of the parents didn't buy into it. It was extreme. It did not yield the intended results.
I wouldn’t eat that either tbh
If you grow up on a cattle farm (or any similar farm), this is what to expect with younger kids. It's very hard and expensive to get seafood in the middle of nowhere so I'm sure they haven't been exposed to it before, the same as a fancy dining experience. Bet the only place the might've been would be the local pub for "fancy dining". I don't understand what the point of this exercise is other than the parents knowing exactly what their kids did which makes them great parents.
This isn't about liking seafood...This is about a child's behavior when they're presented with a new experience and the parenting that occurs to help navigate through the experience. They actually tried to resort to bribing their kids to get them to behave. They raised them to survive in a single environment.
@@boadecia1433 The bribe was only done 'cos the parents knew that the children wouldn't comply. Hence those parents are great knowing what their youngster's would do in a situation like this compared to other parent's that let their kids run wild 'cos they are not taught how to act properly. I'm sure with time and practise those parents would have very well mannered kids in that dining experience but if you put any child outside of their comfort zone or experience something for the first time why would you expect the kids to act perfectly? It takes time, patience and teaching to allow kids to understand any situation they are in, not put them in the deep end and expect them to swim as an analogy.
I am half-French and the first rule in French family dining is that kids eat whatever the parents eat. No exception.
That’s not okay, I don’t eat things that I don’t like why should we make kids eat things they don’t like
@@sarahc465 I get both sides, forcing a kid can make them push hard against healthy foods, and allowing them to always choose the chicken nuggets obviously isn't the right choice. Food shouldn't always and only be about eating your favourite fat sugary foods. Balance is key, not everything you put in your mouth is supposed to taste like McDonald's. I think that's a huge problem, people think of eating as an enjoyable hobby, not a requirement to live.
@@sarahc465 you not eating things you don’t like is a luxury MANY people don’t have. raising a kid with the mindset that this is ALWAYS expected is raising egotistical children
Who the fuck cares 🤷♀️
F the French
unrelated but I LOVE THE WEBB’S COWS!
ABC let me the possibility to see this show in Italy too, please. Ty
The Yellowstone in pocatello !
Bro, I’m 24 and even I wouldn’t eat that food! I can’t even imagine a kid eating any of that!
Where can we watch this?
Provide what things you can. Don't do it because you have to, do that because instinct
If they're playful in a restaurant like that have a corrective if they want to know more about a country have a life mastery
"Life is short and impermanent. No matter how rich, famous, and profitable a person is, he cannot keep his life. Every day's melancholy and every day's pain will make me worry and feel melancholy. Sentient beings sometimes don't hesitate to waste their limited lives in order to satisfy their little desires, and want to permanently preserve the illusory substances in the world." - Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door Master Lu
Have an instinct to take care of what needed not just wanted, if that food is unavailable at that try a different thing, ask the kid what she or he likes food then work with that it's called apex parent
Omg she through up
Yo like when she wants to goto paris there's passports just Wait till you're older
Omg! I'd be embarrassed as a mother Idk I've taught my daughter proper table etiquette I would of walked out my daughter knows better in public setting
Not feeding the kids properly now that's abuse😢
No dinner would have been done
Oh another thing wait till you're older to do what adults do
This test is so very absurd.
Why would they think the kids will eat that?
for real. horrible.
Lol... I have 4 kids (8-20) and I'm so fortunate to know I'd never have to deal with this. It's all about NOT giving them options when it's time to eat
So you would force your child to eat fish eggs and raw fish even if they objected?
@@JM-sd5dt wow. Where did he ever say that? Straw man argument much?
@@buttofthejoke He made a comment on a video clip from a tv show where the children were forced to eat unfamiliar foods such as the ones I mentioned in my reply. He said he prides himself with NOT giving his children options, so I wanted to know if the kids would still have NO option if that was their choice of food.
If I was a parent I would say try it if you don’t like then I’ll fix something else. The most important thing is trying it but I’m not going to leave them hungry
@user-tc6lj8hx8v ok dummy... we have alot of different foods in our rotation that would be considered normal. They've eaten everything I've ever given them. Some things they like and some they don't like as much. My point is, my kids wouldn't react like that if they saw a food from another culture that they weren't familiar with. They'd be respectful enough to try and give an honest opinion and that comes from me giving them foods from different cultures on a regular basis. I have 4 boys from the ages 20 down to 7 and none of them would act like that without trying the food
Listen, I am all for kids trying new things however, I don’t even like this type of food and I am an adult so to take a child to a restaurant where they serve scallops, and muscles, and things like that is really crazy like I am an adult and I don’t even like that type of food so you’re expecting a child to eat that shit I don’t think so. I don’t understand how this proves that you’re a good parent or not
this family seems to not care what their kids eat. The dad seems so selfish. who would put their kids through that? Definitely wouldn’t want him to be my dad. Disgraceful

these kids seem uncomfortable. These parents aren’t parenting them correctly if they have to go on a show to see who’s the best parent. so insecure. Narcissistic. I can’t fathom how a family can put their children on a tv show like this. disgusting. Those children will be traumatized.
I know. A show to prove how good of a parent you are? 😂 So low and insecure. all for an image.
I suppose the Asian couple would be mad if the kid didnt eat dogmeat as well. Seriously, what don't Asians eat? Even the Japanese eat dolphin. And they just love to eat rare animals as well. No respect for that horrible couple. That kid will be messed up as an adult.
Learn tolerance
you can critique them without relying on stereotypes babe
you can critique their parenting without being racist x
You don't get to choose what you eat if you live in a poor or rural area
What do you intend to teach a county person……. There’s both you could possibly teach…….
