Extra backstory on this:
The people behind Goodbye Volcano High were super incompetent, they were constantly fighting with each other and even got multiple people fired from within, including the lead writer which caused them to rewrite the entire thing because he was considered "problematic". This game was also funded by the Canadian government so who knows how much extra money they wasted with the delays.
*Meanwhile* the one guy who made Snoot Game had help from multiple people, a user on 4chan /lit/ gave legit writing advice and helped restructure the game for the better.
A handful of randos made a better game with zero money and advertising than a major indie studio pushed by Sony funded by the Canadian government.

Say what you will but this made me audibly go "aww" several times. And I don't even mean the romance. Fang getting comforted on the roof, Naser showing so much love for his family... It tugs at my heart.
The fact that nearly everyone who has played the game and commented about it has similar experiences really speaks volumes about how good the game is. If it can move people to feel genuine emotions and ask questions about life, it's a fantastic piece of art.

I cried when I found out the last time he streamed this game was 2 months ago. I never knew I needed snoot game to be concluded so badly.
Im....pleasantly surprised! I was expecting Snoot game to be just nothing but criticism against people with pronouns, but its made me laugh, it made me feel for fang and the other characters, and it actually feels like it was made with care.
I was surprised by quality of the creators other game, "I Wani Hug the Gator" but after seeing this, it seems much more clear that they have talent

IIRC there's more concentrated pockets of edgelords in their predictable spots (any orange board, mostly /b/, /pol/, and /gif/), but overall there's less edgelords than there used to be on 4chan
I used to frequent /lit/, /ck/, /fit/, and /out/ during the 10s. I genuinely learned a lot by interacting on those boards and developed passions I've carried into my 30s. 4chan is filled with amazing people who just prefer to stay in the background and mind their own business. Also RIP Trevor Moore, the genius comedian who used to frequent /b/.

Some of the coolest people I've met online were from 4chan pr0n boards. It's more than edgy incels over there. Some of the more creative generals are dominated by women. They're educational too. Most of the skills I've picked up over the recent years are thanks to 4chan. It's just a community of diverse people like any other place online. Saying everyone on 4chan is a neckbearded edgelord is no more true than saying everyone on UA-cam is a screaming attention whore.

I just finished endings 3 and 4 of Snoot Game and I cannot come to terms with how it has made me feel. I'm 33 years old and it's like I'm back in senior year with all the same insecurities and mistakes I made. Same anxieties about what the future would hold and how much would soon change so fast after it was over. But mainly it brought back how I felt about all the people I was closest to, the connections I made, and the bonds formed that were about to be nullified by the reality of adult life after feeling like it would last forever. I was NOT expecting a PARODY VN with anthropomorphic dinosaurs made by fucking 4CHAN to have hit me so god damn hard. This thirty minute episode of YMS Plays depicted a silly little goof game that I thought I'd get a kick out of playing for the dumb internet humor and instead I'm sitting here questioning my sanity as I actually consider spending money on I Wani Hug A Gator. Wtf. Adum, what have you done to me!? Today I seriously miss being a teenager.

He actually does have a broken wing in the original too, as seen in the concept art. But they never actually tell you why he has it. They literally just tacked it on for "disability representation".

I gotta give Adam credit, I don’t agree with a lot of his political opinions and some of his societal opinions, but i can appreciate that not only did he not sperg out at the existence of this game, but played it all the way through.

I assume there is a longer version of this out there, you probably played it on twitch, or what have you. Might be more cohesive. Good highlight reel though. Maybe watching "the real one" will give more context.

I gotta be honest, if you didn't open up with this is a parody I genuinely would have just thought: "Oh, this is that visual novel game (because anthropomorphic characters seem to be attracted to Visual novel games like flies to shit) about the dinosaurs that I didn't know were supposed to be dinosaurs until someone told me they were supposed to be dinosaurs". Maybe I didn't realize they are dinosaurs because dinosaurs are cool. Actually thinking about it, its the Beastars thing where I guess we just make Anthro characters have human proportions because having unique interesting character designs is a recipe for failure apparently.

@@wobblzYT you're not spreading awareness of anything, it's pretty obvious the types of beliefs 4channers have and their intentions with the game, but the whole point is that the game still has a lot of stuff to love and even the more turbulent topic of how being non-binary is handled can still be easily interpreted as a very neutral approach to the topic, with Fang taking the decision herself to not be non-binary even after Anon starts to respect that part of her anyways.
Of course you can see the intent behind the inclusion of the element when you know what's up with the creators, but looking at it in a bubble it's just something that could easily happen irl to someone young going through trauma and confusion about their identity.
The game is free anyways so who cares about what the creators believe. The real point of contention should be I Wani Hug That Gator that actually costs money, so you COULD argue it's supporting lgbtphobic assholes, and i understand why you wouldn't like that. In my opinion, though, unless they're actually using this money for shitty causes like JK Rowling with her donations, i don't really care; people just want to support a game thats genuinely good. I don't give a shit if the assholes behind it have more money to blow on anime gacha games and furry p*rn commisions.
I dont want to enter a chain of whataboutism, but Pizza Tower's creator is also very problematic, i don't think a lot of people gave a shit and just "separated the art from the artist" (even if they're actually giving said artist money for the art), so i'm curious to know your thoughts on that.
It's also important to note that:
1. You arent convincing any transphobes at all
2. For the reasons stated before, even people that support/are part of the lgbtq+ already KNOW what you're trying to say, they just solved the conflicts of beliefs in their head already, coming to conclusions like mine. You really arent spreading awareness as i said before, you're just shouting at a wall.
