The skyscrapers that can be seen in the distance from the highway give me shivers... I felt the same emotions when I was in New York, I will also visit Chicago ❤
Was in this city last week, my brother took me to visit his youngest son and to look around. First time went to the Museum when I was nine, WOW. Like going to a movie and seeing a city in a SIFI movie.
Beautiful city, enchanted. Beautiful footage, good choice of time, lighting, just perfect. At first, his videos allow us to travel from the comfort of home, but in fact they make us want to travel even more to discover these places. Great job. From Brazil.
Chicago is a city known for its tall buildings, skyscrapers, and incredible bridges. Downtown Chicago refers to the Central Area of Chicago, which is also sometimes called The Loop, and is comprised of 35 blocks. The Loop is famous for its urban vibe and dynamic architecture
Architecture? Hell yes. But baby what “bridges” are Chicago known for? I’ve been there plenty of times and cannot think of even one. 🤔 This had to be written by someone FROM Chicago because I promise no one outside of Chicago thinks this. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This is actually not accurate. So downtown is like 7-10 neighborhoods including the loop, mag mile, streeterville, new east side, south loop, west loop, river north, etc. The Loop is just one section of downtown. The whole downtown area, though, comprises the skyline and is about 8-10 square miles total.
Downtown Chicago looks like a combination of downtown Boston (my hometown) and New York City. Seems very beautiful and charming, I hope to visit one day. Thank you for this lovely video.

my favorite city i've ever seen, visited like 4 different times in my short life and It's just so breathtaking every time with so much to do and all kinds of different environments❤❤
I've been to a few places, and Chicago is the "biggest" and "fastest moving" feeling city I've ever visited. Even bigger and faster than New York in terms of feel. Chicago just seems soooo grand when you're downtown, that when you come back home to your city, it makes it seem like you live in the countriest place ever. It's all due their amazing architecture and layout. NYC is just a bunch of tall buildings packed tightly together, to the point you don't feel the grandeur of the buildings; it feels more cluttered than anything. When I was in NYC, it just seemed dirty, honestly. (I love NYC, 2nd favorite city in America, next to New Orleans, so no hate). Chicago has the river flowing through downtown, which allows you to see the buildings in their entirety. Also, downtown Chicago has the perfect sized streets, which also aids to the grandeur of the buildings. Outside of the downtown area of Chicago, it's not so pretty, in my opinion, but downtown Chicago is top two, and it ain't two!
@@Elguapo93, New Orleans is my favorite city I've ever visited. Chicago's DOWNTOWN is top two, and it ain't two. Meaning, Chicago has the best DOWNTOWN I've seen.
As a former resident of Sprawling Business Park, TX (aka Dallas/Ft. Worth) I am so impressed with cities like Chicago which have actual rhyme and reason to their skylines. Truly an American treasure of a city. Would love to see an updated version to showcase all the new buildings!
Getting skyscrapers approved is an extremely tenuous process for this reason. From residential views, to block lighting, to skyline aesthetic, zoning, and purpose, getting a skyscraper to the building phase is a seriously major undertaking. There are literal wikipedia articles filled with "unbuilt Chicago." It's definitely worth checking out.
Good city planning not only requires a lot of regulations but also regulations designed in a way so that they coalesce into a cohesive vision for a city. That is the trick. Chicago city planners were willing to work with those from around the world in order to make it work. This occurred in the wake of the Great Chicago Fire in the mid 1800s and is mostly responsible for how the city looks today!
At minute 14:27 of the video, it's something I should be worried about. In the foreground the vehicle disappears but the car in the background is still in the image #fright
Even without much traffic, those idiots on the road were already pissing me off. Two cars within 10 minutes already drove through a red light, and another one switched lanes within 5 feet from the car in front on the highway. Relaxing my ass.
You are losing people with your statement. Why not saying one of the best? Chicago is definitely a nice city and the river that goes through it makes it unique as well.
Beautiful city. I've always wanted to visit Chi-Town. They have some awesome museums and visit Millennium Park. Of course, summer is the best time to go. Winters are too brutal.
As a former south side chicago resident, China town is so fucking cool dude I recommend you try out little village its like china town but Mexican just as great. Houses some of the best mexican food in the city imo.

officially the City of Chicago, is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Illinois, and the third most populous city in the United States, following New York City and Los Angeles. With a population of 2,746,388 in the 2020 census,[4] it is also the most populous city in the Midwestern United States and the fifth most populous city in North America. Chicago is the county seat of Cook County, the second most populous county in the U.S., while a small portion of the city's O'Hare Airport also extends into DuPage County. Chicago is the principal city of the Chicago metropolitan area, defined as either the U.S. Census Bureau's metropolitan statistical area (9.6 million people) or the combined statistical area (almost 10 million residents), often called Chicagoland. It is one of the 40 largest urban areas in the world.
Correct. But the population numbers are based off of participation rates. Only 60 percent of households in Chicago participated in the last census. Chicago easily has over 3 million people and Chicagoland over 10 million. 12-13 million if you include Milwaukee's metro. Both metros share borders and are no longer separate. Commuters from both metros commute back and forth everyday. As Chicagoland grows it eats up more counties and the US Census adds them into Chicagoland. Joliet some decades ago wasn't a suburb of Chicago but its own separate city. I expect the Census to add Milwaukee into Chicagoland by the next decade. The fact is today Northwest Illinois, Southeast Wisconsin and Northwest Indiana is one region and it's home to 12-13 million people
Chicago's urban population is comparable to London's urban area. London's official city proper area covers 3 times more area than Chicago. Similar story with LA. Chicago is only 227 square miles while LA is 501 square miles. Chicago has 5 million plus people living in the same area as LA. Even Chicago's inner suburbs are more dense than LA
It’s a case of it being a cloudy early morning around Christmas time. If you want to see Chicago at its best look up videos of it in the Summer during the day or at night!
