- Rain walk in Chicago on a late morning. This video was recorded many months ago, but I never got the chance to edit and upload (as many of my videos). I shot this pretty spontaneous and the rain didn't last too long. The video starts off on Michigan Ave and ends at Lake Michigan with some lighter rain.

Walking downtown Chicago during a rainy day or at night were my all-time favorite ways to vibe out. I would throw my iPod on, blast my favorite bands and artists of the early 2000s, 90s and 80s. It was so therapeutic for me. I truly miss it... I haven't been home since 2008.

I went to a city alot like Chicago in the year 2000...Vancouver, Canada. It rains a lot there and is quite similar from seeing this video. I am from England and was 17! But sadly my stay (married to a girl there!) Lasted only a few years (4 to be exact!) and I've been back in England ever since . Very miffing!

I love Chicago! I lived there for two years and I felt @home immediately. For me it was fulfilling because when I was growing up in North Jersey I told my 8th grade teacher I would live there one day and my classmates laughed at me. My first weekend living there I went jogging on Lakeshore Drive and it was unbelievable...

I love how empty Chicago gets. Walks like this are so nice around downtown-picturesque and some city blocks feel like the 1920s.
Most people that go down there are just there to work, it’s wild just how empty downtown gets sometimes

It's raining. Most people would rather run inside then be soaked outside. I can name one million cities that are more empty on a regular day than Chicago on a rainy day

its very crowded now that the covid restrictions are over :( shoulder to shoulder in many places, gridlock and more gridlock. i was on Michigan Avenue and State street last weekend. so many people!
My home for 67 years, I moved 7 years ago. I loved this video. I saw so many office buildings I worked in, hotels and restaurants I had business meeting in and partied in. Stores on Michigan I shopped in. Rode the river shuttles on the Chicago River. North Avenue Beach so quiet with just the waves of Lake Michigan. So so many good memories. Thank you for such a beautiful video it brought back so many good memories. Chicago will always be in my heart and soul.

@@iltifaat-yousuf My husband died and that cut my income in half. So I have a son and grand children in Chicago and Indianapolis. I had both sons and their wives looking for affordable senior apts for me. The ones in Indianapolis were $300 to $400 cheaper than the ones in Chicago and the cost of living is much cheaper. So I moved. I am only 180 miles to my sons home is the suburbs in Chicago and I have been back to visit my family many times and they have been here many times.

You'd like it even more when it's sunny. However, it's at its most beautiful just as dusk starts to gather on a clear summer evening. You can see the city's beautiful details and everything is lit up for night. The color at that time of day is sublime and it is quite the sight to watch the light of the setting sun on the buildings.

As a foreigner, I consider that Chicago is the most beautiful city town in the United States, better than LA or NY.
for me its head to head with NY but definitly better than LA, i hate hot weathers, im more of a rain/snow person, ny and chicago are the only 2 cities i want to live as a turkish guy.

@@armgord Chicago is better than NY bc of the people's attitude. As a city there's more to do in NY, and the food is better, but you're able to talk to Chicagoans without feeling like you've been a victim of a sarcastic hate crime.

I just love how empty Chicago is, sometimes while walking you're all alone. This is EXACTLY the kind of dark aesthetic I'm talking about, just blast a few tracks through the earpieces and you're on for an memorable experience

Lived in Chicago 2011-2018. I miss it a lot sometimes. Nothing beats driving a car through Chicago downtown at night while it's snowing. Or driving on Lake Shore Drive during summer

I lived in Chicago for 28 years, and I left in 1974 for Oakland California, another great place - but there is nowhere like Chicago. You cannot beat living where there are actually four distinct seasons! I have been homesick for 49 years! Gotta love Chicago......

it's not all its cracked up to be. don't just watch some 20 minute video and get mesmerized. the crime is out of control, the homeless rate is out of control, shit costs way too much money there's way too many people everywhere you go, the roads are always screwed up the list goes on but I digress.
This is such a calming atmosphere that you have captured. The soft sounds of the rain on the umbrella and pavement, the smooth sound of the vehicles going by swishing water along the way, and to top it all off.... the greyscale skyline with cloudy weather. Really great video!

I find it so amazing that in every tiny little box, there is a story, and there are millions of those tiny little boxes! This youtube channel has ALWAYS been my life saviour, I cannot describe the amount of emotions this video evokes in me even though I have never been in Chicago, but the way this guy has walked and truly captured that view, that sound of thunder and rain and buses and people walking, it is absolutely beautiful.

As a chicagoian, I had a British instructor for my communication class. He told me rainy days are his favorite because they remind him of home, while also finding it rather quiet.
He was right. Throughout the spring after my college class I would walk around the city in the rain. Don’t get me wrong, sunny day all day, but something about the rain and fog rising over the skyscrapers is so beautiful.
I’ve been all around the US, and I don’t care how bias I may sound, but Chicago is still my all time favorite city

The last time when I visited Chicago while being in the USA, I was mesmerized by its beauty. I badly wanted to be part of this city backing 2015-16. Currently n Mumbai. Love Chicago.
I can seriously look at this all day. In my spare time i do walk around in my city too. Usually on a sunny weather but also at times in the rain. I take nature walks mostly but urban walks like this make a good change. Imagine walking about like this admiring the cityscape and also just disengaging the thoughts in your head, let your emotions come and go, while you be in the moment and just relax or breathe. Definitely does some wonders for your mood and health.

I was lucky enough to spend the most precious years of my life in Chi-Town (or Windy Cinty) when I was 17. Hell of a city filled with great experiences.

I just came back from my first trip to Chicago just the other day and saw this in my recommended. Honestly, Chicago never struck me as a city to visit. Then, my family and I decided to go randomly. I visited cities all around the US, and Chicago is the most beautiful by far (to me). I am an avid visitor/lover of NYC, and I absolutely love the culture, food, and the goodies there. However, Chicago is cleaner, safer, and not too crowded. The food was amazing and priced accordingly (I live in another city, so it's practically the same price). The weather was also beautiful and slightly windy (heh). I was just in awe, breathing the air, feeling the wind flow through my hair -- this city was much more than I expected. Stunning.
Even though I just came back home, I am trying to plan another visit.
This is just HEAVENLY!!! I'm so homesick watching this. I'm looking at this in VR on my Quest 2, and it feels like really being home again. Chicago is so beautiful! I truly miss rainy days in the city. Please make more of this. And THANK YOU for not talking or playing music over your videos. Seriously, this is therapy for me. I need more, More, MORE!!!
