Man, I wish the higher-ups behind the Bond films would go back to this type of dressing up Bond. Makes me want to spend 007 hundred pounds on a conduit cut suit! Great video Dave.
That is the Dr No suit as worn by Sean Connery in the 1962 film. Beautifully tailored to fit snug and comfortable against the body to create that famous silhouette. The suits he wore in the following films would feature jetted (besom) side pockets and no side or rear vent in the jacket. I also believe he wore his trousers, not only with side-tab adjusters, but also with double front pleats and turn-ups (cuffs) at the bottom of each leg.
The tie you get in the offer is called a navy grenadine interwoven tie, which Connery made famous in the four films he appeared in as 007.
I believe if you make the tie knot smaller you get closer to the Connery look

Great suit and clip. I think this suit gives a more retro / 60's look whereas the tighter Tom Ford / Daniel Craig suits give a more modern look. Each have their own style, like comparing apples to oranges, some will like one type, others the other type, etc.
super impressive suit and I think for a little more than a J.Crew suit (Which I wear and love) I think the price is good too.

Sharkskin is actually a weave. It doesn't have to come across as shiny.

Nice looking suit but you never got around to panning down the pant legs to show what type cuff the pants have. Hemmed or cuffed? Also would have been nice to see what shoes you had paired up with the suit. Thanks for posting.

Naturally half canvassed, upgradable to full, but the package is something of five years ago

James Milligan, there is no room here for dirty snobs, I'm looking a dam side better at 16 years old with a set of 4 J.Crew suits than you ever did regardless of if I had to do it on a budget or not :)
Jcrew is very lack luster for suiting. for a similar price you could find something from Suitsupply. they use better materials, construction and styling Jcrew isn't bad for a starter but if you're looking to up your game you can easily find better options!
this suit does not match you. it makes you look older. daniel craig is definitely your bond along with his style

TheBondExperience as a 6,1 mexican weighing over two hundred pounds and trying on the tom ford gear my wife and friends agree it's just not me, at all. it does not fit right and it does not look right. brosnan and back is the direction I go, hence I have been waiting for craig to leave the role. you know I'm hoping mr.mason makes some of the bond neckties because turnbull and asser refuses to release any new ones. they have had the same bond ties for years, anyhow keep it coming. on a side note, my second born will be named ian Lancaster and because of bond I'm in my fourth year of medical school. I'm sure bond had a hand in you owning and being the CEO of your own company. now that is what being bond is all about! cheers to you..
Looking back to people who actually wore the Conduit suit like Michael Caine (as an example), it seems to suit people who are on the slimmer side, as opposed to Daniel Craig, who's a much larger person. I don't know, this is just my opinion and even if I was wrong, I still don't think it looks right on David.
Regan Donohue Caine and Connery are both tall men of 6ft +. Craig is 5"10 so this cut, combined with his broader shoulders, this would make him appear stocky.
I love Tom Ford but he's also a tall, barrel chested man and tends to design clothes that flatter his own body type. So while I agree the Conduit cut wouldn't look perfect on Craig I don't think Ford works that well on him either--it makes him look shorter and stockier than he is. Ironically, I think the most flattering Bond-style suits Craig ever wore were those he sported on the promotional tour for Casino Royale and (I'm talking about silhouette only, not materials or lapel width/style) The Golden Compass.
Suit is too big
I wouldn't say the suits to big. I think the button hole is to high, which makes the jacket look smaller. Now I think the reason why It looks big is because that curve is way to high, I think if the curve was lower at the actual waist. The suit would then look better.
