We want to live as he has in all 25 movies. Think of what he does...he wins the ladies..survives impossible odds and always saves the world. And best of all he never dies. We all want that fantasy in all our lives while remebering the family we have and he does not.
I was ten in 1963 we lived in Houston, Texas and lived in walking distance to the Broadway Theater. I can still remember sitting in the dark and the huge velvet curtains opening and the ornate glittering gold carvings on the walls and the balcony above and the velvet red seats and then the theme music for Bond starts my first taste of the Bond icon, Dr. No, I was hooked for life. Have not missed one yet and never will.
It's funny how Bond is a fashion icon when Book Bond doesn't really make a big fuss about clothes. It's cars and breakfast that he's passionate about. The movies could start showing off some of the incredible meals Bond enjoys in the books.
Anthony Sinclair's suits for Connery are so timeless. Beautifully tailored, the best of the series in my opinion. And David Mason wearing Persol 714's as regular glasses. Never seen that before. I like it.
To me, the best looking/style James Bond is Pierce Brosnan. the best James Bond as a character is Sean Connery. the best movies/best James Bond as acting performances are Daniel Craig.
That's what I love about Bond. His clothes are perfectly tailored, but never boring. They always have small flairs of individuality that make an otherwise staid and traditional suit and tie combo look cool and confident. The turnback cuffs on the tuxedo, the cocktail cuffs on the shirts, the unorthodox materials like linen for an evening jacket, the camp collar leisure shirts, the reversed cufflinks in Goldfinger (which may or may not have been a wardrobe error but still add to Bond's maverick image), the unorthodox pairings (anybody else wearing barleycorn tweed and a knitted tie would look like a maths teacher, but Bond of course pulls it off to perfection- he even manages to make a cream suit work with a pink tie)... everything he wears reflects the personality within- refined and classy, but also unorthodox and highly individual. He could be in a crowd of men all wearing suit and tie, and he would always stand out as the one wearing it not because he has to, but because he wants to. The character's combination of class, style, and utter self-confidence is the reason he is what every man should aspire to be.
Figured it out. It is the instrumental version of "You only live twice." Great song all around. At first I was racking my brain thinking this was in one of the new Bond movies. The says a lot about the song that is transcends time.
I submit that Sean Connery looked and dressed the best as Bond in Dr. No and Goldfinger, i.e. the shawl collar tuxedo, the white dinner jacket, the sport outfit at the end of the golf match, the three piece muted glen plaid suit. Moore's custom tailored clothes became too dandified as his films progressed. Danton's clothes were uninspired. Brosnan's tailored Brioni suits and sport clothes were beautifully made and he has a natural ability to wear clothes well. Craig looks good in formal wear, however, I don't like the Tom Ford designed suits that look like they are made two sizes too small on him and the shirts and ties are poorly chosen. I understand that this may have been a deliberate decision to de-emphasize the clothes, however, I would go back to Brioni.
i have had a thing about the suits in james bond films always beautifully tailored. Also the shirts. A suit is nothing without a well made shirt and tie. Preferably a white shirt
Yes the golfing attire in Goldfinger was some of the best in all the Bonds.I don't know what they were thinking about putting Craig in those tight fitting suits ... I just kept rolling my eyes ! ... it looked like if he made one wrong move .. Rip !!
Sean is 4" taller than Daniel...naturally bigger & stronger...if you put the 2 of them side by side at the same age you'd see the overwhelming difference....
two pictures doesn't count as paying attention to them, everyone but Lazenby and Dalton had the idea behind how their suits were tailored for them and who tailored them explained.
I imagine it's because Lazenby (with the addittion of a few camp late 60s details, à la Italian Job) dressed exactly like Connery had- in fact, turning up to the audition in a Sinclair suit and Rolex was one of the things that won him the role in the first place. At the time there was no plan to make Bond move with the times, all they wanted to do was keep the same old successful formula, and so they did very little to change Bond's image or personality. There would be very little to say from a tailoring point of view about the transition from Connery to Lazenby (especially since the role then went back to Connery) beyond "yeah, the kilt and the orange turtleneck weren't such a great idea". As for Dalton, I have no strong feelings either way about his tenure as Bond, but the wardrobe for those two movies was incredibly unimaginative and dull. The only innovation it can be credited with is introducing Bond to casual wear outside of a holiday setting, and frankly Daniel Craig was way better at pulling off that look.
why do I need to follow Bond on facebook or twitter when i already do that on you tube and dont use facebook or twitter? its a redundant question, I know. But it had to be asked.
Great Documentary, Ever since, Big-To- Outshine,by James Bond films,Took aDownfall -Splendid Back , With Daniel Craig...Shame , Understandable,Postponements Till Nov/Dec. Good Thinking. ! !
My favorite was For Your Eyes Only. I saw it with my mom in NYC. I had grown up watching the early Bond movies at the drive in. I'm not liking them bringing in a female Bond. Why do some women have to force their way into a man's world. The Bond movies had a little something for the whole family. The sexual teasing through out the movie kept the women glued to the movie not wanting to miss a 💋 kiss not to mention the sexual excitement when Bond got his girl at the end. And the action packed life of a British agent kept the men interested all the way through the movie. All the gadgets Q made especially early on. Only added to the fantasy for both sexes watching. There was such an excitement everywhere as the count down began waiting for the opening night of the new James Bond movie. Anticipating and wondering what exotic location James would be taking us to. It was the kind of movie that made you forget your own reality for the next 2 hours. Please don't change who James Bond is. It's not necessary it's changing what we have loved for over 50 years. WHY would you change the main character that was the focus of all the Bond movies for the last 50 + years. WHY?
+charlotte R. Van der Haer (House of Van der Haer) The background music is the instrumental version of "You Only Live Twice". I'm sure youtube has a video of Nancy Sinatra's version.
Scott Adler Would that be the American Tuxedo based on the Dinner Jacket made for the Prince of Wales in 1865? The first tailless Dinner Jackets in the USA were to be seen at the Tuxedo Park in 1886. They were based on British Military Mess Dress. Sorry old boy.
Stewart Stirling My sources indicate that the black tuxedo, whether white tie or black, was invented here, in the US by members of the social elite, old English and Dutch families. There is some dispute about the Martini -- some say that it was invented in San Francisco, but that recipe is not what Bond would recognize as a Martini. That appears to have been invented at the Hotel Knickerbocker in New York.
Scott Adler Henry Poole and Co. Saville Row London are the tailors who first made a "tailless" dinner jacket for the then Prince of Wales in 1865. It was based on Naval mess dress as I mentioned before. The white dinner jacket was a copy of the military mess dress but in white, not red, and made of lighter cotton or linen for use when the temperature was above 70 degrees for more than 5 consecutive days, in a country in which you were stationed. The word "Tuxedo" is a direct reference to the wearing of the first tailless dinner jacket at the Tuxedo Park ball in 1886. The Martini, well happy to concede that the origins were mostly a product of the US but cigarette smoking was quite common in Polynesia and the Americas using tobacco mix and flowers to make the casing. Granted the USA was the first country to industrialise the industry, forgive the use of a "s" instead of "z".
Hello,... Friends ! Morning...wonderful news and video for me ! Sorry Im explaning me beccause I would like to make me nice suits there in Sinclair house, s ! Thank you like your video. Daniel (Grillo).
David Mason sounds almost just like Martin Freeman (after a few seconds he definitely starts having a different accent, though), and when I first him I had a little spaz attack.
3:34 say, thats a nice suite. I want to be the first NIGERIAN james bond. If you want to see me look at my video on youtube. Its an audition for james bond movie
The next bond should be a Kurdish man. Since the Kurds are the ones doing all the work fighting isis, which the west created. We are doing the fighting on the ground. I should be the next bond. A little bit of gym and I have Craig's build.
Is there any man on the planet who doesn't stand in front of the mirror in a new suit and straighten his tie and his cuffs thinking he's James Bond?
We want to live as he has in all 25 movies. Think of what he does...he wins the ladies..survives impossible odds and always saves the world. And best of all he never dies.

No, not for a suit. but the line definitely goes through your head when you wear a tux (admit it) :-)

Yeah , I was hooked also

I can smell the popcorn!!
NO one wears a suit like Danial Craig. No one. He just knows how to EXIST in a suit. Breath taking.
Truth. Out of the other Bond actors he’s definitely the most built. So the suits are tailored PERFECTLY around him
I like him 2nd best to Sean...as the 1st Neanderthal Bond....certainly preferable to Roger Moore's effeminate portrayal....
Craig looks like a stuffed sausage in the most recent movies. In QoS he looks immaculate, however.
Gabriel Macht aka Harvey Specter isn't too far off tbh.
Dniel Craig has a legit exquisite collection of cars and suits
All actors who played Bond were doing their job perfectly.Bond will never die.NEVER.
It's funny how Bond is a fashion icon when Book Bond doesn't really make a big fuss about clothes. It's cars and breakfast that he's passionate about. The movies could start showing off some of the incredible meals Bond enjoys in the books.
You only live twice is the best bond theme by far. Sinatra’s version and Barry’s instrumental are truly beautiful.
Anthony Sinclair's suits for Connery are so timeless. Beautifully tailored, the best of the series in my opinion.

Daniel Craig is The Ultimate Bond.Period.
