the brosnan ensembles are absolute dressing perfection, no element is random or missplaced. Every color, texture and fabric has a reason to be there, Lindy Hemming was truly genius here.
The fencing gear is actually rather elegant as far as fencing gear goes. Apparently it was custom made by a London gearmaker for the movie. My fencing jacket has a button closure with a red/white split, I'm actually quite fond of it.
In college, I fenced using the schools gear and jacket. Since I was on the varsity team, I got to take the jacket home with me for convenience. Another gender commented on how well fitted was my jacket. Our coach let him know that I took in the sides and back. Those fencing uniforms had to have been custom or at least altered for them to fit so well.
If you want to see something interesting you should look up the iconic Carol Christian Poell fencing jacket in horse leather. A modern take on a functional item ,beautifully tailored as Carol tends to do
I have some cases of that in my fencing club and I would agree. Personally, I went with a kaftan in a mainly maroon colour with a deep blue at the edges and the same blue colour for the leggings. I consider swapping out the blue leggings for some maroon coloured ones or perhaps a split as you mention.
@@GravesRWFiA I joined by accident. I actually joined the fencing club. We had some competitions. At the end of the year, I was given a jacket. I said, "Thank you, what is this for?" I was told it is a varsity jacket for being in the varsity team. That was when I found out I was on the varsity team. LOL
I think the underlying point is. it looks great and serves a purpose whilst fencing, just like the fireproof racing overalls in F1 racing, but they don't look that great on a night out on the town.
My Top 5 1. Tux, all the Bond's do the Tux justice, but my favourite is the White dinner jacket worn by Connery. 2. Skyfall Scotland attire, especially the Barbour Wax Jacket, Scarf and Crockett & Jones boots 3. GoldenEye, The casual attire while racing the Ferrari in his DB5, Chinos, Blue N.Peal cablenit jumper, Blue Turnbull&Asser shirt with the Cravat just about peeking through. 4. Skyfall, Shanghai attire, the PeaCoat in particular, but I'd easily wear the entire outfit. 5. GoldFinger, Golf attire, The Dark Red Slazenger V-Neck Jumper with off white shirt, Brown Golf Kilties shoes don't think the hat would suit me though, suites Sean Connery well and thats what counts.
In the first movie Dr. No, Sean Connery briefly wears this one classic yet beautiful outfit. It's quite simply a navy sport coat, white shirt and navy tie, with charcoal pants and black shoes. He's in Jamaica but the outfit actually looks like wool, and he just wears it so well, of course.
Also one of the better Bonds for sure. I liked the whimsical nature of Moore's bonds, but they never really felt like actual "Bond" movies in comparision.
I like Dalton as Bond, he definitely doesn't get the credit he deserves for his more serious portrayal. However, the fashion in his two movies is a bit too baggy and "80s" for me...
Connery and Brosnan are the best and most classically dressed. Craig’s style follows too closely current trends (tight suits, low rise, fussy collar types, etc).
Love the video, Kyle! As a big Bond fan myself, I appreciate reviewing his different style choices over the years. Planning to go see No Time to Die this weekend and am super excited.
This was BY FAR the best Kyle video on the channel. No mention of urban streetwear, no trying to convince others that jeans, T-Shirts, and sneakers are "classic" menswear. Just good honest information about the classic menswear styles of one of the screens top iconic characters. Well done Kyle. (And Sean Connery is my favorite Bond).
I think trainers and tees and jeans hold a place in classic menswear, it's just that they're traditionally regulated to the most informal of occasions. Trainers are worn for tennis or other sports, tees are worn to the beach or around the house, and jeans are worn for manual labor or other very casual events. All of these garments were around by the 30's. Technicalities aside, I generally don't watch Kyle's videos for that reason. There's also the fact he tends to wear not-quite-fitting suits which are too tight and slim-lapeled. I like the diverse perspective from Raphael and Preston, both being traditionalists, but his advice and styling definitely isn't for me.
@@themoderndandy713 Yep! I watch his videos because they are part of this channel, but I rarely like his videos, although it has everything to do with the content and nothing to do with him as a presenter.
Live and Let Die : Moore's coat and suit were made by his tailor, Douglas Hayward in London. He wore the coat for the opening of the new Bond stage in Pinewood ( you can find footage of it online )
Just as a correction, Moore's clothes in Live and Let Die were made by his (earlier) tailor Cyril Castle (who tailored Moore for The Man with The Golden Gun as well). Moore only began using Douglas Hayward in For Your Eyes Only onwards (he used Roman Tailor for The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker). Respectively yours
Came just in time as I was looking for fall styles. Love that hunting jacket. Awesome video! (Although your pronounciation of Brosnan kept throwing me off)
Kyle first let me say truly excellent break down of the 007 wardrobe the fashion you spoke of and highlighted were indeed great pieces of clothing items being a huge James Bond fan there were fashion from other 007 films that I also appreciated Diamonds Are Forever and Thunderball as for my favorite James Bond actor they are in the following order Pierce Brosnan, Sean Connery, Rodger Moore, Daniel Craig thanks for sharing such a great video fine job!
I think the reason Connery and Craig look amazing is because of their charisma. They broke a few rules but they have the Charisma to pull it off. Daniel Craig can probably redefine the black tie or even white tie outfit with his confidence
I think Timothy Dalton really pulled off both leather jacket and aviators 1980s style and classical James Bond suits of Sean Connery era. His Bond was interesting take and change in direction for the character, sadly, lasting only for 2 movies. I think Timothy Dalton on general is very well dressed gentleman.
So I'm 30 and have never owned or rented a suit or tux, always just worn slacks and a button down when formal attire was needed. But I've always wanted a fitted suit, or well a closet full actually and want to start getting them now that I'm comfortable with my weight, however I'm allergic to wool.. .is there a way I can get the Bond suits in a non-wool fabric?
I love the Scotland Skyfall look, I now own every item from the Scottish scenes either screen accurate or close enough. The only problem, if I wear them all together, I feel like a Bond Cosplayer and people have noticed and it is embarrassing when people do, so these days, I only wear key items, like the Barbour Jacket, Watch and Boots with other casual items like a pair of dark blue jeans and a white shirt.
I think the fit on the connery suits is perfect. Still a nice V shape but not too tight like in the craig era. Otherwise the Tom Ford Suits are so good lookig. Love the style and patterns
That custom Brioni shirt is absolutely amazing... Only shirts in Bond's closet that come close to it are the camp navy and the striped shirt, both from Thunderball
Y'know, I heard something very interesting last night while reading about Bond style. It seems that Cary Grant was under consideration by Ian Fleming to play the role of James Bond, since he didn't approve of Sean Connery at first. I wonder how that would've gone over...
Just watch North by North West, and a few of the other Cary Grant films. I feel like they actually heavily express what Bond would have been like with him. I thinks he would have been okay, nothing like Connery and perhaps a bit too subtle and American. But he’d do some okay action and have some amazing line deliveries in his own way.
How do you not have Lazenby on the list? Before he was chosen as Bond, he was an ex commando turned suit model. Yes, there's the ruffled cravat (we won't go there) and the kilt (also not going there), but his other pieces were stunning and worn very well.
Really good video 👍 Bond is quintessentially British …..his suits should be Saville Row….shoes British made in Northampton…..& shirts made on Jermyn St London ie Turnball & Asser …….tom Ford mass produced in factories
While I love suits, for day to day I find the Skyfall look to be my favourite, I love wearing wool sweaters and my Barbour jacket is one of my favourite items of clothing. It's just such a practical and comfortable outfit that still manages to look stylish. Some of the Brosnan era tie choices are so good, lovely subtle colour choices and patterns, and the cuts of the suits don't seem to be too out there enough to be dated.
Now that I see them all together, I realize how lanky and awkward Brosnan was; tall and good looking, but weirdly unathletic. Craig muscular physicality kind of ruined it for everyone else. Moore was so handsome, even if too old for the part, and Connery was just perfect.
Sean is just amazing, the man oozes with style. The best bond ever. I also have a black bay 58 that is a homage to that rolex shown here given that Tudor is Rolex’s sister brand. I also have a few Rolexes but I digress 😊
I liked this video very much as I am a bond fan. Honestly, we should have given props to the waredrobe teams on these different film productions. They were the true hard workers that made him look good over the decades.
It's hard to beat sean connery and brosnan era on suit game.but for casual daniel craig is the best.i really love "enjoying death' outift.it's casual rugged but still look put together.
I wonder what you think of the outfit Craig wears at the end of No Time To Die. The white shirt, navy sailor sweater, and suspenders combo looked very good imo. The fabrics in particular. 17:56 You probably accidentally blocked the view of the cufflinks in this scene.
Hello Kyle, this is from the gentleman who talked with you at your place of work last week Tuesday. Hope you’re doing well and was nice to meet you. Cheers!
10:53 something important if you watched any of Remington Steele the guy has been 110 pounds soaking wet for 40 years or something lol. So the padding works really well on him. His suits in Remington Steele were very slim and made him look super tiny..
It should be said that one of Bond's shirt-makers was the famous Frank Foster who made many shirts for Connery and I believe Roger Moore. He was also famous for his cocktail cuff shirts as well.
I am wondering you didn't mention the fact that in No Time to Die there was a considerable gap between the collar and the jacket at the beginning (cemetery scenes) and I think there was a similar gap later in the film as well. Something which we learned through this channel is a big no-no, and certainly something a style icon James Bond is would allow himself. Thanks for a very good content and keep up the good work!
I'm still yet to hear an American say Daniel CRAIG'S name correctly 😂🙈 Creg is a completely different name ..... Other than that, fantastic content guys, love it! 👍🏼
"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter! And I need you looking like a man who belongs at that table."

You forgot George Lazenby in On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Excellent writing. M.
The blue Tux from Spectre is a favorite of mine, but Sean definitely dressed incredibly
I’d be interested in seeing a video on the style of JFK or Gregory Peck. Similar to the Cary Grant video. Thanks!
Glad to see a couple of Sean Connery outfits in there, surely the finest dressed Bond
Dalton needs more love, his Tangier outfit with tan blouson, trousers, black shirt, and brown loafers is my favourite outift
The winner should clearly be Lazenby’s highland dress that he wore to Blofelds fortress.
George Lazenby did look great in his highland outfit but Sean Connery was the best
Connery and Brosnan are the best and most classically dressed. Craig’s style follows too closely current trends (tight suits, low rise, fussy collar types, etc).
I really appreciate the captions!
Great job flawlessly delivered.
Love the video, Kyle! As a big Bond fan myself, I appreciate reviewing his different style choices over the years. Planning to go see No Time to Die this weekend and am super excited.
*Well-researched and calmly presented.* This presentation is the stuff of confidence building.

Sean Connery - Goldfinger - Anthony Sinclair Grey Three-piece-Suit
Pierce Brosnan - Goldeneye - Brioni Augusto Suit and Adige Overcoat
My favorite James Bond is Roger Moore however the best dressed James Bond arguably is Pierce Brosnan.
Yes+yes.
We can't be friends. Lol
As a millennial, Brosnan will always be my Bond. Brosnan is such an objectively handsome man.
@@JupiterTarts As a non-millennial I saw him in "Remington Steele" years ago....Same style.
I like Sean outfits and Pierce actions
Gosh, these outfits are fantastic and maybe I'm basic but something about a 3-piece is just, magical.
This channel is truly Gold 👌.
One thing I like about Bond's style is that he sometimes likes to bend the rules time to time
James bond is some of my favorite movies. This is just what I need. My favorites are Sean Connery, Roger Moore, and Daniel Craig.
Agreed, they are also my top three 😊
Sean*
Funny that the Connery clips almost always have him with hands in his pockets. But I guess that's just swagger.
Thank you Kyle, very professionally presented and still extremely easy to watch and listen to.

Always loved the coat in Quantum of Solace, the one he wore on the dirtbike, not the Harrington.
Could you review some of the suits Roger Moore wears in 'The Saint'?

Flower linen inside. Short collar.

If the Barbour jacket comes with a .500 Nitro Express double rifle, I'm in.
I'm stuck by Roger Moore's incredible posture.

Pass on the terrycloth romper at the Fontainebleau in Goldfinger
Spectre has a upgraded cream tuxedo imo, the lapel is much wider and structured. So is the black bow tie and scarlet flower.

Blue shirt : with the needlecord suit - it's from Bruno Cuccinelli.
Missed the beginning suit in Die Another Day . That suit was on tap I had to purchase it.
