    OHH my I just found your channel, AMAZING! please never stop doing these videos! I live in Northern Michigan and I am just getting started with the exploring and hunting! This is such an amazing sport! I I love that your family gives the instruction and great pictures of the mushrooms. I do have a question, I live in a mainly beech forest, I see these mushrooms that have dried up and I saw some in your video, they look like little cups upside down on a beech tree, what the heck are they, and are they edible? also I am a new sub!

      Thank you for your encouragement. The mushroom you may be inquiring about is horse hoof fungus

    I will never get tired of the subtle text jokes, no matter how many times I've watched the video!

    Your videos and information are always great. Keep up the good work. I've been stuffing myself with hen of the woods and have made them into a dish I created but not totally. Make them like green bean casserole in a 9 x 9 pyrex....1 can cream of mushroom soup, 1 can cream of chicken soup....throw in a handful of French fried onions, stir, cover with foil and bake at 350 for one hour. OMG 😲😱 It is beyond great!!!

    I didn’t know there were so many different kinds of puff ball. I’ve only had the white ones. Have you come across the shaggymain?

    Just wondering how you like to cook shrimp of the Woods? I find it all the time but it's one of the few I've never tried. Again, loving your videos. You are both great on camera. been watching your videos all day since I found your Channel. You are a lucky man having a wife that likes to forage with you! Women like that are few and far between!

      Have baked but didn't enjoy very well.
      Shrimp are one of the only mushrooms I like to deep fry.
      Most mushrooms are ruined by deep frying but shrimp handle it very well

    I have never removed the teeth from hydnum repandum before I ate them. What is the reasoning behind removing them? Will it taste even better if I do?

    • @FoundYouForaging
      @FoundYouForaging  3 роки тому

      On young buttons I don't remove . Was taught to remove so there's no bitter taste

      @@FoundYouForaging cool, I'll give it a try next time. Never noticed any bitterness though.

    I can't remember where i heard it but usually men and women have a certain colors they see better in the woods
    Men see the browns and blacks better but women see the colors and to see the difference between the greens

    I bet your either in Yankee Springs or the Allegan Forest. And one thing that needs researching is.....those are not snails they are slugs.

    It's not true that birch polypore grows only on birch. Last fall, fall of 23, I found it on cherry. I'm willing to admit that cherry is very weird and rare, but it definitely gave me a good flush on cherry. I live in northeast ohio, and I swear this is the truth.
