They are not stucked with the old days compared to Gen X's who are pretty close-minded to changes and immediately percieves "unconventional=wrong". Boomers might not understand the concept of it but they are pretty welcoming, and understands that it's how the new age does things.
In my personal opinion, at least these people showed more respect for it. Unline people like Jimmy Kimmel who was a jerk about the subject. OFC they didn't appreciate it as much because its just not their thing, but at least they didn't diss on it.

I understand people who don’t think it’s a sport but I cannot understand people who say it requires no skill or is easy. It’s like chess, no it’s not a physical thing but it is very mentally challenging and takes extreme skill to become a champion. Gaming requires strategy, hand eye coordination, quick reflexes, teamwork, and a lot of practice. It’s the same as a sport but it’s with a controller. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
Those elders deserve respect. So openminded and realistic. Even if they find gaming wierd or can't see it as an "acctual sport", they still have an open mind and realise that world is changing. All respect for them truly.

A sport does not require athleticism. It only needs competition. As long as a person wants to prove he/she is the best, no matter what playing field you are in, it will always be a sport.
I love how league is literally the only thing that represents e sports in this video, bec league literally brought it to the place it is rn. League really deserves props the whole inovation of e sports
i think esports is 100% a sport, why? you need to have good reflexes, a strategy, excellent hand - eye coordination and you need hours and hours of practice and preperation for a big game. does it need to be in the olympics? no. i always compare esports with chess (it is very different i know), a sport that requires brain and hand usage vs other sports like football, tennis, etc... chess isn't in the olympics either.
the Olympics were made as a sort of mock battle to keep the nations from getting into real fights. as warfare has evolved to the point that we fly drones around to shoot missiles I think that esports has a compelling case to be included in the Olympics. At least the sports that have to do with high reflex or strategic planning.
@@themajormagers in my personal opinion i think the olympics should stay "physical" sports only. because most major esports games you need strategic planning and reflexes (LoL, Dota, COD, overwatch, etc (these are just the well knows ones, i know there are more)) so if they would do like you said and only include these types of games, than you need to include min. 3-5 games at that point. i do think they should make a "esports" type of olympic, like different Esports games played in a single arena. this way i think esports will get a better name across the people that look down upon esports or just don't know it

If Olympic doesnt accept Esport in it, watch them make their own Esport Olympic and compete against the Olympics thats gonna be one hell of a show down.

If sports networks cover things like Texas Hold'Em, Golf, Bowling, Chess, Spelling Bee's, and Rock Paper Scissors, why are people so opposed to competitive gaming?
i appreciate how openminded some of them were with it but i feel it wasnt propperly explained to them, they should have shown more of the scaling and the difficulties with it. by showing them low level play and letting them know further about how hard it is to get to that degree of skill
I hope people can understand that the few amount of elders that don't understand it being a sport likely haven't ever played videogames seriously, if at all. This goes even further when you consider 'PvE' versus 'PvP' and team-oriented games, which take the 'difficulty' of a game to new heights completely. The mental energy and coordination/stamina is something I barely relate to as someone who's gamed their entire life, but I appreciate some E-sports because I've played the games I watch. I'm not a pro, but I can appreciate the high level of play because I've played myself (again, at a lower level). Quite a few elders were pretty open-minded, though, so that was nice.

no, the point is. there isnt really an advantage for having a big body over the smaller one. you can play games just as well based off of the body. basketball being short isnt unplayable but would suck and is a disadvantage on the normal.

Esports is sports but Esports becoming an Olympic Sports is for me a no no, Esports is big enough to stand on its own, it doesnt need to be classified as an Olympic sports but rather it should be classified as its own. I think xD. Thats just my take on it.
Agreed, if chess and golf ain't olympic sports then this shouldn't be either. Plus gaming is so diverse, there is so many different games.

If e-sports isn't sports then why are things like formula 1 and chess a sport? Those don't require peak physical performance or extremely fit bodies.
When F1 cars pull around 4-5gs in turns you need to be in top physical condition to drive the car

technically you need to be healthy to do *any* competition anyway, imagine being sick and doing eSport, you could probably lose from the effects alone
