    Really nice explanation of the different types of plates. We ordered all of our gear from Rogue and really had a great experience with them

    I have both the Chinese and American plates. I always try and buy American but they really bounce a lot more than the Chinese ones. That being said, the Chinese ones wouldn't fit on my tree. Rogue sent me replacement plates free of charge, and did not ask for the old ones back. But the new ones wouldn't fit until I took a rotary file to clean up the ID. If I had to do it again, I would've purchased the American plates only.
    Bought some 25 lb. competition plates later, and now regret not forking the extra cash and buying a set outright. Live and learn.

    So...how many hi-temp 45lb plates can you put on a Rogue bar? Since it's thicker.

  • @merlincalo6877
    @merlincalo6877 4 роки тому

    Whats better between the Hi Temps and the US Mil Spec Crumb bumper plates? They are slightly different and same in price. I know the Crumb plates are a newer product. This will be mainly for indoor use (wooden floors with foam tiles) and occasionally on concrete outside. Looking for something that will be little easier on the floors, not too loud and will match with other type of plates in the future. Thanks!

    it looks like the HG has a somewhat inset insert. it looks like hte outer part has a larger thickness than the center part that is thicker.

    Great video. Question: Can a pair of 10lb HITEMPS be used on their own? Do they bend and waffle? I would not be dropping them from shoulder-height. They would only be used to train the deadlift.

    • @JAAPJXBIT
      @JAAPJXBIT 3 роки тому

      I know this is a late af reply but those would definitely bend. I have used those alone at some XFit gyms. May wanna get something stiffer like the Echo plates (I own a pair of 10s) and they stand up straight as long as you use bar clips.

  • @clarkdef
    @clarkdef 12 років тому +1

    Those comp plates do fall apart, the screws snap and those discs fall out. Don't bother with those, and the stainless steel inserts do mangle out of the other two plates. Home gym is much better because of the internal disc not needing screws.

    • @ravibajaj2824
      @ravibajaj2824 4 роки тому +1

      The main reason we can’t make good looking bumper plates is because of working conditions required to make those. But still, the rogue crumb mil-specs that I have are VERY durable and they are made in the USA 🇺🇸.

      Years of dropping them. On cheaper plates, the metal ring will start to dislodge.

      Weight is weight, but I prefer the coated plates for my home gym. Any tears in my mats come out of my pocket and the rest of the house probably doesn't want to listen to me banging weights on deads either.

    • @sjeoendiowksbsjsel

      Standard makes good steel plates, but rogue makes incredible steel plates that are paper thin and nice for pr days.

  • @lancelove7896
    @lancelove7896 7 років тому

    Tons of people say these weights are fake...they obviously aren't fake and people are greedy as flunk! Haha! No seriously they take it for cash value and it's not...you pay sixty dollars for a product you literally could have and use at the same value forever in your lifetime....I think that's a pretty fair deal in and of itself and there is a small difference in metal versus rubber...but I'm not aware of it at all and if you can squat over five hundred then why would you care!? You can make cement plates that won't break rubber coat them and band them with steel or pour your own weights and there's your problem totally solved and you can get recycled rubber for about 3.45 for fourty pounds...so 10 dollars should stop your buck as a beginner right!? Anyways...rogue is expensive and thier big product is cross fit competition weights so if you're buying the generic rogues you're probably practicing for cross fit or opening a small gym and you probably should a package deal! Either way the point is people complain about stuff instead of doing or they bluff it out to make it look smart or they just are wrong to try wrong in and see how it feels...nothing worth pointing and laughing at all...it's mild arrogance...weight lifting is fun and annoying!!!! I do it at home and at a gym and I can tell there's a serious difference! So, buy weights where ever you feel like it because you're getting weights and that's what it takes to lift weights! Sorry there's no big point! But I don't own rogues but I use them and I like them...I own a pair of 1.5 pound hand weights for warming up and speed walking...my walking shoes cost 217$ and my hand weights cost about six dollars...get used to it people! If you wanna go bear foot with two cans of beans in your hands...hey..that's you and you've got protien so you're all set! People are crazy. Rogue is pretty good stuff.

  • @ilteschio8244

    that's just stupid, avoiding all the "save space" problem, all are weight, all serve a pourpose if you want to build muscle, they could be steel discs, bumpers or two tank of water strapped on every end of a broom stick, all that matters is that you lift them.
