I don’t have a deadlift platform, so it’s good to have some bumpers. 45’s, 15’s and 10’s. I “fill out” my desired barbell load with steel plates. Steel 35’s, though much maligned, allow you to add 70 lbs to the bar without needing to use a jack.
Bumper plates if we know we're going too be dropping the barbell.. In a workout or going for PRs.... Or maybe off lifting alone.... 35p pounds of iron crashing to the ground is kindly going to do more damage thank 469 lbs of rubber
Am I the only one who hates bumper plates because they are all the same size? When I deadlift, I want a 45 on each side, and then I just start adding 35s to the ends that just slide right on. With bumpers, I have to waste a bunch of energy lifting the bar over and over again to add more weight. When I am huffing and puffing after a lift, the last thing I want to do is lift one side of the bar in the air to put on or pull off weights.
Eliminating 40% of your unique products has to save significantly on tooling/production and drive sales through your high-runners. Would be nice for the 10's to be smaller diameter though. 10's are too flimsy to justify the full diameter. Also FYI, Snatch comes first in competition.

The diameter issue is by far the best reason for bumpers to start with. also colors. colors are nice.
I care about the quality of the rubbers but not about the color personally
I say buy both, I have 670lbs of bumper plates and another 1500lbs of cast iron, I don't regret buying any of it
I love bumper plates. They’re larger so you look way stronger than you are. It rules.
Great points! I hope your shoulder is getting better!
When I bought my bumpers, they were cheaper than iron plates and also look better.
Really amazing guide lines

Never buy rubbers from a dollar store. Just trust me it's no deal!
How many children has Dollar Store rubbers produced? I’m only on 13 no big deal.
Good guide 😃😃

Yes, but that's the whole point, they are all the same so that they all touch and spread the weight equaly when you drop them.
