If you feel the need for a moisturizer depends on your individual skin, but yes, I think using a moisturizer after that one is a good idea for most people. There are many out there that you could use, the best one depends again on a variety of different things. As for the Niacinamide - yes, it will help a little, but Niacinamide on its own is not an "effective anti-aging treatment". Doctor how is wishtrend mandalic acid for gentle explotiation of my rosacea prone skin why is mandalic acid not so popular despite of its great properties?? Other aha maybe harsh than this can i use mandalic acid doctor plz reply
Mandelic Acid is gentle, so you might try it. Same is true for Polyhydroxy Acids, they are very gentle as well. But I recommend talking to your treating doctor about using exfoliants, usually Azelaic Acid is the one recommended.

Doctor...my face suddenly turned red, my pores got enlarged and my skin is really itchy for using some certain products. What should I do now? Should I use this centella unscented serum? Will it develop my skin condition?
I can not provide individual advice on here, but that is what I would do in general: Stop using most of your products and dial it back to a minimalistic routine of sunscreen in the mornings and then a gentle cleanse and a moisturizer at night. If you skin doesn‘t get better on its own, go see a dermatologist. Introducing any new skincare products at this given point is probably not a good idea. Well, if your skin is dry, using a good moisturizer and hydration will improve everything, not only the sebaceous filaments. For acid probably salicylic acid, but at the same time don´t expect miracles - they are completely normal and probably barely noticeable to anyone other than yourself.
Cleansing is key. Do the double cleansing at night starting with a cleansing oil, it will literally get grits and dirt out of your pores and keep them clean, then follow up with a mild regular cleanser. Do this well everyday and youll notice a difference. Use vitamin c during the day followed by a sunscreen. Exfoliate 1-2 a week. Use retinols 1-2 a week. Hydrate the skin well.
Hi! I just want to add that there are higher percentages of centella in the market. One product for example is CosRx’s pure fit cica serum which boasts 76% of centella extract!
Yes, a few others told me about products with higher percentages in the comments - just goes to show that I need to learn a lot about Korean beauty products.
In theory you could use the serum, but if your skin is damaged, it isn't the time to experiment with new products, you should do minimal routines until it has healed.
After using the serum for a year, it is something that i do want to replace. I stopped using it for a month maybe and saw no difference without it. I just don't really have an idea of what else I would use but I definitely want something to buffer the dryness from azelaic acid. I am the rare person who gets the peeling side effect from azelaic
Do you really think a serum is what can achieve that? Or do you need a moisturizer for the dryness? I feel like dehydration and irritation can be adressed with a serum in my skin, but actual dryness usually requires something heavier.
I question a bit wether there's really 49% centella extract, I think it refers to a complex, so they list "centella asiatica extract" while this actually also includes the solvents and preservatives. The maximum usage rate of pure centella extract according the CIR is 0.00002-0.5%, and in scientific studies they used 1-5%, most suppliers recommend 0.5-1.5%. And adding 49% or more of a powder would be quite difficult, it's also very poorly water soluble. So 49% must be a presolubilized mixture then. And if you would buy a high grade centella extract, used at 49% only the cost of the centella would already be twice the cost of the whole product. I guess it's like the Skin 1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule with 100% centella extract, where the EU complient ingredient list has all the solvents and preservatives listed, while the Korean list just says "Centella Asiatica Extract".
Interesting point. I actually don´t know how Centella extract behaves in a formula, I assumed it was very watery, so they just replaced the water content with Centella Extract. As far as I know though an extract doesn´t requie a sepcific concentration in itself, it is just something extracted with water, so when the consistence of the extract is watered down to begin with, it would be possible to have 49% of it in the formula, just as you can have 98% water and then some preservatives. Or am I completely off here?
@@DoctorAnne Yeah could be, I'm not completely sure either. But Annikacoherent on 26-oktober-2020 on IG, and Kindofstephen personally to me, also said something that the label regulations of these extracts differ between countries. And there are also high and low grade extracts. It seems likely to me these plant extracts at percentages of 40-50-60% must include the solvents/preservatives. From what I remember someone from the industry also said something like that in the EU it's usual to seperate the solvent, preservatives etc, while in some other countries a percentage is given of the whole complex... But I'm not completely sure. How this is exactly regulated between countries, I really would like to know more about it... who knows maybe we will find it out someday..
@@peterkloostermann We might eventually. Until then, we should probably just assume that extracts are not what is giving us results in our skincare anyway.
@@DoctorAnne this is accurate. In Korea they are allowed to say "80% green tea extract" or "49% centella extract" and it doesn't speak to the actual concentration of green tea or centella because the water content is included. I would guess that the active components (centella derivatives) later in the ingredient list are more likely to give the cica benefits than the extract. With green tea it is easier to tell if there is actually a lot of extract because it will turn the product yellow or brown. The products I use are transparent about only containing 2% green tea extract but some will claim 80% and be clear or only have a light yellow colour and that is questionable

I recently bought this from stylevana and everyone says unscented but I can smell something from the product when applied. Is it supposed to have no scent AT ALL? Can my product possibly be a fake?
There is a difference between unscented and having no fragrance. Ingredients have a fragrance of their own, meaning that a product with no added perfume will smell of the ingredients. Products with no scent at all often have fragrance added to mask this ingredient own smell.
That's good to know. Thank you so much for replying@@DoctorAnne ☺I just kept seeing reviews saying "no noticeable scent" so I thought maybe it doesn't smell of anything AT ALL. Thank you.
I love the Purito brand and have been using this serum for quite a while as well as their vitamin C and the Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 moisturiser which has really helped to smooth out my skin texture. I use this serum in my evening routine together with a Cosrx water toner and frequently before a sleep mask. What do you mean by both - the toner and the serum? Yes. And you can also use the toner and the cream, but I never tried the cream, so I don't know if it is good or not.
It is most likely genetics, but I recommend you consult a doctor to rule out things like rosacea or other underlying conditions. Topical skincare will most likely not offer a solution here, some things like Niacinamide might offer some reduction maybe.

That's good to know. Thank you so much for replying@@DoctorAnne ☺I just kept seeing reviews saying "no noticeable scent" so I thought maybe it doesn't smell of anything AT ALL. Thank you.
@@lilamae3308 Different people pick up scents differently.
Thank you for suggesting the toner over the serum.
It just captured my heart more, and that has to count for something!
Does anyone know a good korean niacinamide serum?❤️
I am a little bit more on the dry side...
I don´t, sorry.
Try "Cos de Baha Snail Mucin Essence" it has 2% niacinamide, sodium hyalorunate and panthenol. Very hydrating and good for the skin barrier
This serum contains 3%
PURITO do a deep sea moisturiser for dry skin that contains some niacinamide
@@aaliyahces1519 Have you tried it? How do you like it?
Is it good for oily acne prone skin? As my skin barrier is compromised at the moment
It is good as in: It won't do harm and hydrate, but it won't do anything against the oiliness or acne, if that is what you are looking for.
Excellent, in depth and straight to the point. ❤️❤️❤️
I am glad you enjoyed the review.
I always ensure that I have a spare to account for any delays in shipping as it is not something I want to have to miss out on.
I am glad to hear it works so well for you! How would you describe your skin, more oily or more dry?
@@DoctorAnne I have an oilyT-zone and tend to have dry skin on my cheeks.
@@davidwebley6186 Thank you for this information.
Can i use both at the same time? Also can i use their toner and their recovery cream at night or it will be too much, thank you for answering
What do you mean by both - the toner and the serum? Yes. And you can also use the toner and the cream, but I never tried the cream, so I don't know if it is good or not.
@@DoctorAnne thank you so much Dr.Anne! I will try the products tonight♥️
Doctor, please give me recommendation, my purpose to reduce much redness. My face become red if the weather hot. Which product best to solve that?
It is most likely genetics, but I recommend you consult a doctor to rule out things like rosacea or other underlying conditions. Topical skincare will most likely not offer a solution here, some things like Niacinamide might offer some reduction maybe.
U have the cutest accent I have seen to many medical doctors that are on here talking about skincare they are always dermatologist pushing Cerve it's a nice change. I love this serum I use it everyday and I put 1 drop of the Ordinary phynogenol serum in it for an extra antioxidant boost.
Thank you - I am German, that is where the accent comes from. And I have yet to try anything from Cerave, so...
@@DoctorAnne I love it. 😂 Good I think cerve gets way to much hype , I don't care for it at all.
@@heathersargent289 I think it is affordable, which is good for many people. Sometimes the skincare shown here on UA-cam is ridiculous in price.
I just started using a small sample I was sent with my other purchases. Seems good so far.

Im using this serum at this moment , its very good to calm my skin bc im using retinol and 15% ascorbic acid .
It is very soothing for sure. Have you tried the toner as well?
@@DoctorAnne I only tried regular version of toner and also serum . It was nice but I didnt like the smell . Now im using Im from rice toner and secret key aloe soothing moist toner . Doctor please reply me, Is it good acne spots (dark spots) and hyperpigmentation...
It is not a serum that will have a huge impact on acne, no.
Is this good for anti aging, fine lines & wrinkles?
It is hydrating, which will help with fine lines, but other than that it hasn't a strong effect on premature aging.
Can I use this serum in the morning in the same routine with 15% vitamin C serum?
Yes.
Hi, there's a new bottle for this product. Can you do a quick review on it ?
I haven't used the new bottle, so I am afraid no.
Doctor can i use this on my rosacea prone sensitive and combination skin with redness?
I can't say that for sure, as every skin is different, but I think it would work.
I have tried this serum and i feel like it gives me an irritation. I always get something like of a pustule / bumps every time I give it a chance.
Oh, it really sounds like it doesn´t work for you then.
@@DoctorAnne I'm assuming it's niacinamide content is the issue. I can tolerate only from 2% to 5% concentration
@@philipbisnon527 It doesn’t have more than 5%
@@philipbisnon527 the purito has 3% niacinamide
It’s because of the inclusion of different types of peptides in a great amount which might cause irritation and dryness for some.
Can I used this serum before using plum niacinamide toner
Yes, but it probably would work better after the toner in terms of thickness.
What do you think about the other ingredients? Are them ok?
What do you mean by "okay"? I think this is a very nicely formulated serum in general if that was the question, yes.
Dr. Please reply me is it pregnancy safe product really want use this product

This serum is suitable for which skin types????
All skin types that don't suffer from allergies against the ingredients.
Is it normal when we use the serum it looks kinda oily to my skin??
It definitely leaves the skin shiny rather than matte, but doesn‘t feel oily on my skin.
Can i use this serum before commonlab vit c gel cream?
I don‘t know the Commonlab Vitamin C Gel Cream, but yes.
Can i use this alone as a moisturizer?
That depends on your skin. It doesn't have occlusives to keep hydration in, but depending on the climate you live in it might work if it is very humid.

Why my serum smells fishy when I rub it in my skin?
I can't answer that. Maybe it has gone off?
I am 16 years old what serum do you recommend me to use
The one that best suits your skns needs. It is not so much dependend on age, but on what your skin is missing and what you want to achieve.
i love this product !!!
It seems to be a firm favorite for many in the comments here.
How to use this with snail muchin and retinol
You can combine it with both without problems.
Could I substitute it with TO Niacinimide since serum contains it? Hmm
I think both serve a different purpose.

Fungal acne isn't usually caused by skincare, but is a yeast infection on the skin. But yes, this works for acne-prone skin, but obviously isn't the right thing to treat acne or congestion.
