  • STAR CITIZEN - EXPLORING THE EXPLORER THAT IS ROBERTS SPACE INDUSTRIES CONSTELLATION AQUILA
In todays video we take a look at Star citizens Constellation Aquila from Roberts Space Industries.
This is the Exploration variant of the Constellation series of ships, unlike the other members of the Constellation family this ship has improved cockpit design and a unique science station. This ship has great weaponry along with strong shields and hull protection, 96SCU the ability to carry small ground vehicles coupled with fairly decent range. This ship is very versatile, but is it a good explorer? Well that's what I try to find out! TAURUS VIDEO: • STAR CITIZEN - My firs...

What are your thoughts on the Constellation Aquila? How good of an explorer do you think this ship will be? Let me know down below!

Interesting review. The 400i is a fine ship, I own one too, but when it comes to actually doing proper exploration in the game, the Aquila will leave it in the dust. Why do I say this? Well, it's quite simple really. Apart from the Aquila already having exploration equipment other ships of this size lack, all the Connies also have multiple issues, you pointed out many of them in your video, and as such, when the gold rework finally happens there will be many changes to this ship series because CIG will be very aware, from the many posts of Connie owners, the shortcomings of the entire range.
Each one has something uniquely wrong with it and they all share common issues too like for example crew accommodations or lack thereof. Buying a Connie, any Connie, will be taking a gamble on how that rework will improve this ship series.
The one hope I have is that, CIG have learned a lot about ship design since the Connies came into the game, the 400i proves this after all. Connies really show their age but, at the same time, also show how far CIG have come since then when you park it next to something like the 400i. These hard won lessons will, one fine day, be applied to the Connies too.
So, looking for advice? I would say keep your Connie and wait it out as I think it will be a wonderful ship to have in the future, perhaps even be the best all round ship to own in this size class. As many of us know, ships in this size class will be the most popular to own and operate in the 'verse because they bring a little of both what smaller ships have in lower running costs and have a measure of the capabilities of ships larger than them simply because they have the space for extra equipment like the jump mapping sensors on the Aquila.

The bridge of the Aquila is a lovely thing. It has many advantages over the 400i.

yeah I cant fault the design of the connies. But for me personally 400i is a great ship to be in for long distance exploring.

@@PIN-o7 I got both. For me the deciding factor on the 400i is how well they’ll have it maneuver. It’s not just for combat. With what one gives up in terms of utility from its competitors, I’d like it to move well in and out of atmo so we can brave places that are tough for other ships to maneuver in. High winds and heavy gravity, asteroid belts etc. whatever that adds to its combat ability will still not be much because it doesn’t have much there to begin with, and that’s ok.

I love my Aquila, I love the industrial appearance it has even if it is a bit Spartan for the crew. I like the way it’s a thru-ship in that the components are all laid out on the same deck from front to back. I don’t want to be running off trying to find components in nooks and crannies on different levels if there’s an emergency. I’m just surprised at the slow charge rate of the shields with the basic ship. I expect to upgrade but the charge rate seems crazy slow! I’m really looking forward to the Corsair and it will be a real challenge when it’s released whether to exchange the Aquila for it. Great and informative vid - thanks for the upload 😊👍

Great content! I have an Andromeda but so excited for the future of Exploration. I think I just might upgrade!

It's more comfortable looking than a carrier. If I can survive roaming the ocean on that for months between liberty ports,
I think I could survive on a Connie. Lol.

I wish the turret was on the top and the scanner underneath... the bottom turret has such a bad fire arc on the Connie :I I also wish CIG would update their website with better descriptions of what comes with ships, I believe the Aquila comes with the Merlin AND the URSA right? yet its not stated anywhere I could see. I upgraded my 400i to the Andromeda because currently the 400i is just a pretty ship and not much else 😅

I actually prefer the Phoenix out of all of them. Has everything that the other variants has except not quite as many missiles as Andromeda and not the big scanner of Aquila, but you have all of the comforts you are talking about for the crew as well as you can hire yourself out as a luxury transport for shuttling people around. But when you aren't you still have all the comfort for your crew. And I especially love all of the windows. So many of the ships in SC don't have windows so you can see what's out there. Phoenix has loads of windows. And even though it's marketed as a luxury transport, you can explore in it just as easily. Or haul cargo. Or basically be a gunship with just a few less missiles than the gunship version, but still a whole load of them. I don't know how much better the scanner is going to be on the Aquila, so that will probably make a difference on which one is the better exploration vessel but I still like the Phoenix better.

You may wish to consider the 600i for comforts. And an A2 to accompany your Carrack . The scanning feature might be a saving grace on the Connie allowing for a more predictable flight plan and who knows - avoiding mines etc

Thanks for the review PIN. So for me, the Connie Series are my favorite daily drivers. Then again, I'm bias and love everything RSI has. I love the double egress, single level easy access to module replacement. Defendable if boarded. The belly cargo bay is fantastic. Drive up from either direction.
Looking forward to my Perseus and Polaris.

I've had it but recently upgraded it for a Genesis. Probably gonna buy it back though. An ugly duck imo, but so much features jam-packed into it, and able to be handled fairly well solo as well.

no reason why it cant top 1000 speed and have 5k qt fuel if its gonna be an explorer...and move scanner to bottom

When I can finally afford a system that will run star citizen. This is the only version of the connie that I would want because the cockpit view on all the others is just awful. This one i could handle. But why not just replace it wit a no struts " bubble ". Its a video game, fun should supercede material science and structural realism. Within reason atleast.

Everyone complains about the struts but I love them. I absolutely enjoy flying my Taurus. There are plenty of very different ships in the game, just go for something more to your liking. Problem solved.

Why do you miss one the 600i and focus SO hard on the 400i!? o.O

    • @PIN-o7
      @PIN-o7  2 роки тому +3

Because the 400i was built to compete with the aquila. The 600 i was built to compete with the carrack.
